IIRC, Trump character assassinated on Romney, McCain and a number of other Conservatives pretty hard himself. And I seriously doubt McCain if he were alive would have forgiven being called George Wallace from his comments years later:
https://www.al.com/wire/2013/07/john_mccain_ill_never_forgive.html
Democrats have played just as much of a role in creating Trump as Republicans have with the 2008 and especially 2012 campaigns

Are you prepared to see your dwellings in flames… female chastity violated…children writhing on the pike?Character assassination has been around forever. Bush on McCain, Bush on Kerry, Dems on Romney, go down the line.
With Trump they just happen to be much more true.
The problem is this is hyperbole, this ticket isn’t what you are describing any more then the way the left is describing the right as racist and nazi’s. We need to stop all this extremist talk about the other side if we are ever going to get anywhere.but the vast majority I know will still hold their noses and vote for him over the gun grabbing, open borders, defund the police bs
Covid may have been good for the Dems but these riots and the defund the police nonsense is unquestionably good for Trump.
Yep - I’m convinced that hardcore right and left don’t really want to admit it but they are voting for the ‘R’ or ‘D’ and the person really doesn’t matter. It’s easy to say you wouldn’t stand for certain behavior but we all know the only behavior they wouldn’t put up with would make then untenable to be the nominee - so basically they will put up with anything that isn’t bad enough to be removed as the head of the party.I'm having a hard time coming up with some behavior that a Democratic presidential nominee might engage in that would cause me to vote instead for the nominee of the current Republican Party instead. What sort of thing did you have in mind here?

I think Republicans are looking at a Nikki Haley, Mitt Romney, or Larry Hogan nom.Only watching for Haley and Tim Scott's speeches with an eye on 2024 primaries
Any speech that espouses the principles of economic freedom, small government, free enterprise and federalism as opposed to just 100% Trump butt kissing gives them a leg up to me when this train crashes in November
Please. Especially RomneyI think Republicans are looking at a Nikki Haley, Mitt Romney, or Larry Hogan nom.
I think Romney would win an election today. He'd beat Biden. he'd definitely beat Trump.Please. Especially Romney
I am willing to overlook friendliness to Trump from Haley as long as she doesn't espouse Trumpism then when the other side is what it is, but I'd certainly prefer someone who held firm in opposing him.
Hogan isn't my top choice but I do hope he gets traction in the primaries and revitalizes the New England/eastern social liberal Republican wing
Please change the title to "FBG Trump Haters Thread To ##### About Trump And The RNC, Because The Other Thread Was Not Getting Enough Attention And The FBG Trump Haters Want To Ruin Every Thread Here" Thread.
We've seen Biden in government for decades. What's gonna change?Ah, the Biden deflection. We have seen Trump in office for almost four years, and his actions and behaviors are ...concerning. Reflecting SID's question - is there any limit that causes concern or even lack of support?
There's pictures of him groping women online and direct racist quotes. I mean I guess you could twist those things around if you want.Well this is easy for me. I'd examine the facts first and not accept baseless claims. But yeah if Biden was under investigation and he fired the FBI director oversseeing it, as just one example, following Nixon as a precedent, I'd reject him immediately. That's just an example.
We've seen Biden in government for decades. What's gonna change?

Aren't we the greatest nation on earth? We've seen Biden in government for decades. What's gonna change?
Odd to want honest dialog and then lie immediately about what hets you banned here. Why in the world would any conservative/trump supporter post here. Let alone expect honest or open dialog. You get the ban hammer almost instantly for criticizing democrats. The stuff I've seen allowed to go on here in the "name of fairness" is a joke. Tread lightly.
AND ANOTHER THING!...>TO THE THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!Who is she yelling at?
Does she know she's in an empty room?
Like - you like the words she is saying? Because you can't possibly like the delivery.Love this speech by Guilfoyle.
Because they aren’t actual facts....other than having seen Biden in government for decades.
but most here ignore these facts
Thanks, but I would really like if you never responded to me. Like ever. Thanks.Odd to want honest dialog and then lie immediately about what hets you banned here.

I am not a Trump supporter but I have torn into Democrats way more than into Trump (and probably would have voted for him had Liz the Indian Warrior or Comrade Bernie been the Dem nominee) and though there are some of the bot like hateful shills I think most responses have been positive. You have a point on the divisveness for sure but from my experience if you have evidence and well reasoned points backing your views you can mitigate thatI haven't been here in a while, figured I'd check in for the big event. It appears the Trump Haters have grown even more divisive and hateful and run off the moderates and conservatives. I honestly thought Joe would have put his foot down at some point, for the sake of his brand and his good name, apparently not. Amazing. Adios.
If you can’t see the hyperbole and extremism directed from each side at the other I’m not sure what to tell ya, other then have a good night.https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/08/20/tucker_carlson_the_dnc_that_democrats_dont_want_you_to_see.html
Not a Tucker fan but this does contain one tidbit of relevance from the DNC:
"They’d like to do away with bail for criminals. But that’s just a start. For more, we’re going to go now to someone called "J Mai." You should know that J Mai's preferred pronouns are they/them. According to "their" biography at Wake Forest University, J Mai is, quote, a "Black-Vietnamese, transgender nonbinary/gender transcendent mermaid Queen-King currently living out their ever-evolving truths in Winston-Salem." Got it. OK. Now, listen:
J. MAI: Why can’t folks imagine a world without the Cops? Why can’t folks imagine a world without prisons. Why can't people expand their imaginations to include community care to include an abolitionist future. I'm talking about for real for real abolition, not DNC watered down abolition. We're talking about abolishing the police, we're talking about abolishing ICE, and we're talking about abolishing prisons."
Biden is not for defunding the police and I don't think Harris is either but there is far more truth in tying the current Democratic Party to defunding the police and certainly to abolishing ICE than there is to calling McCain George Wallace and Mitt Romney a slave trader
That was a strong speech from Walker no doubtHerschel Walker speech pretty good.
Just like “locker room” talk was ignored and even defended.
but most here ignore these facts
Then don't make things up and expect people not to point out false claims. Clear your intention here os to stir crap up...then complain about how bad the place is on the other board (also a place you wont ever have to worry about me posting at). Thanks, but I would really like if you never responded to me. Like ever. Thanks.
Oh no I agree with you on the hyperbole (calling Obama a socialist for 8 years gets you Bernie for example—though I think Republicans have learned the lesson in part: thankfully don’t see many calling Biden a socialist directly for example)If you can’t see the hyperbole and extremism directed from each side at the other I’m not sure what to tell ya, other then have a good night.

Actually “defunding” and not reducing funding and shifting services is actually a fringe position in the party.Oh no I agree with you on the hyperbole (calling Obama a socialist for 8 years gets you Bernie for example—though I think Republicans have learned the lesson in part: thankfully don’t see many calling Biden a socialist directly for example)
Just saying defunding the police isn’t a fringe movement in the Democratic Party
Literally read the quote from a DNC speakerActually “defunding” and not reducing funding and shifting services is actually a fringe position in the party.
What was the actual quote...that is my point. And yes, Biden, as the candidate has been clear that it isn’t what he supports.Literally read the quote from a DNC speaker
A truly fringe position doesn’t get advocated for at the party’s convention
That said I agree that Biden has a sensible mainstream outlook on this issue
The “dimmer” comment was a direct shot at GovGav.Gilfoyle might hit us with a "Was it over when the Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor" scream?
Romney has enough MAGA core believers to stop him in a primary unfortunately and not enough Dems—“centrist” as they may try to call themselves—ready to actually vote for a Republican (even a moderate one)I think Romney would win an election today. He'd beat Biden. he'd definitely beat Trump.
