Return of the Ford Bronco (1 Viewer)

Anybody think it’s possible to get one of these before September?

We need a new car. Looking to lease from here on out. Needs to be American.

i saw a bronco on the road the other day :excited:  and it looked pretty sweet, nothing like the lame sport model. i would upload the pic i took but i’m not smart enough

Have only seen the small one I guess because it was tiny.  Happy I went with the wrangler 2 door.

This was my impression but they have different models or trim lines I think.
I have a Sport - same body on all, but definitely have a number of trim levels.  It's a nice vehicle - much differentiated from the identical jelly bean SUVs out there from other manufacturers.  To get the same trim goodies in a full size as the Sport you add 20k.  It's a big jump (though the big ones are pretty sweet).

Reserved mine 3/21 - still waiting.

Cyber Orange 2 door Badlands with the Lux package - hardtop. Have a pile of accessories in my garage ready to go.

Not changing my order to avoid constraints on the build I want. Don’t care if I have to wait until 2023.

The smaller ones you’ve seen on the road are the Bronco Sports - they much smaller.

Have only seen a handful of the actual Broncos - most if not all are the 4 door soft tops.

I drove a cyber orange 2 door Wildtrack. It is fantastic. My 2 door base manual will never schedule. Yay for price protection.

They’re dope for sure but I can build virtually ANY car I want for what they’re asking.
My Bronco will likely sticker for under $33K and my dealer will order for $50 over invoice.  Most of the dealers in KC will order a unit at MSRP worst case scenario. Stock inventory is a whole different animal.

After waiting almost 18 months I finally received a 10/26 build date and VIN.

Congrats!

My Bronco order will roll over to a 2023 model, but my Lightning can be friends with your Bronco. It is scheduled to the week of October 24th, but I don’t have a day yet.

Damn, we're up to a four year wait now? You sure you didn't order the Ford Old Nag?

I still don’t understand why Ford named two vehicles Bronco.
The Bronco Sport and a small unibody crossover . While the Bronco is built on an off road platform.
I get they are trying to cash in on the Bronco name but they cheapen it buy putting in on the crossover.

Not familiar with the Bronco 2 ?

ETA - First gen Broncos were also smallish

Probably, but the Sport is a nice vehicle in its own right.

I have a base model Sport. My 2005 CR-V needed more work than it was worth paying a mechanic to diagnose at 265,000 miles so I sold it to someone who could do the work himself and still come out ahead. Drive our backup 2000 Corolla (aka ****ty ****ty Bang Bang. Do all Corollas eventually end up that same dead beige color??) for like 2 days and was getting pretty stabby so went shopping. Found this one on the lot right before closing on a Friday. Checked other dealers and found nothing comparable on the lots mostly due to super high trim levels. Came back the next day and bought it. Two people came in to buy it as I was signing.

Head room is fantastic. Everything else is outer space level technology even for base level coming out of an 05 for an everyday driver. Really doesn’t feel small at all but might actually have slightly less cargo space than the CRV did even though it “feels” bigger.

I had an 09 Fit. Kid got that one when he got his DL. So, in with you, big step up. I have Bluetooth! I ended up the the level up from base. The completely hands free entry system is something only found in Subarus. I can hit a trail, lock the key in, and not have to carry anything. Our, more appropriately, sweat out the electrics in the key. Love it.

Realistically the Fit has more cargo space, funny enough. No complaints, though. This thing does everything I want.

More than likely there were a lot of Outer Banks on the lots. Everyone wants leather, moon roof, electric seats. Big premium for something that leaks and something I'll use once.

Back in June there were exactly 3 new vehicles on the Ford lot by me, the one I got that came off the truck that day, a $70000 truck, and a Focus. Comparable HyundaI, Kia, Toyota, etc. only had premium trim packages out there.
Ex-wife got the 09 Fit in the divorce. Good riddance to both. Roller skate with a spoiler. Paddle shifters were fun though.

I hate the paddle shifters. :lmao:. Love my Fit. I have hauled more crap inside that thing than you'd believe. Three kitchen cabinets at the same time. A kayak.

It is an ugly box. But the awesome spoiler makes it cool.

I have an '07 Fit that's still doing OK. Only 130k on it. It's a city car, so the bumpers are all sorts of scraped up. The air dam in front is totally gone and the whole front bumper needs to get replaced.

And yes, it really does fit everything. Amazing really. The road noise is something fierce.

Can they make an all electric version that fits just as much??

"You didn't order the metallic pea?"

How's the Bronco Sport as a daily driver? Road noise, comfort, etc...

Might be forced to buy something soon (real soon) and there's a used one that my wife likes (passes the eye test).

Friends of ours have one. My wife has rode in it and did not like it. Uncomfortable and loud were her words.

Our friends love it!

Friends also have four other “upper end” cars/trucks that they can drive when they want a break from their Bronco. Not sure it’s a true daily driver for them but they drive it frequently.

I don’t notice excessive road noise or any discomfort, but I came out of an 05 CRV with 265k on it. Friend had test driven one when car shopping and didn’t like the ride, but when he rode in mine he said it felt like a completely different car it was so much better….

I get much better mileage than before. My only quibble is it feels “hippy” like the body part, not the flower children. It feels fatter than the CRV and I feel like the areas by the rear tires are one giant blind spot. Otherwise, I’m coming up on a year with mine and I still love it.

I don't know about comfortable (driver's seat is fine) but it is not a loud vehicle.

Nice! Wife's car ('10 Escape so somewhat similar build/size) is likely totaled so I'm going to be in a pinch soon. She likes more "boxy" SUVs and of that shape we both like the appearance of the little Bronco. It differentiates itself from all the others and looks like it would fit the bill of what we're looking for.

Nice. Can you give us a review?

I originally ordered the Bronco Sport in late 2020. After 3 months I changed it to the regular Bronco and I’m glad I did. No disrespect to the Bronco Sport crowd but it should not be called a Bronco - they should have named it something else. It’s a small SUV I would buy my teenage daughter as a first car.

So little background - I’ve driven small sporty manual transmissions my entire life. Have never owned a truck, SUV, pickup or Jeep.

After an 18 month wait I finally took delivery late November 2022. I have a 2 door Bronco Badlands 7 speed manual transmission LUX package in Cyber Orange. Came with a Hard Top and I have the Bestop Slantback soft top sitting in my garage for over a year. Anxious to put the soft top on as the weather warms here in NY. Plan is to switch back & forth every 6 months.

Love the Bronco - puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Literally can go anywhere and drive over anything. Not sure I would recommend solely as a daily driver to the mall. Depends on your life style I guess . .

Went off roading last weekend in West Virginia. Have never been off roading before but what a blast. Handled all terrain with ease.
I camp quite often with friends and/or family. Perfect for this - fridge, rooftop tent, etc.
Also love fishing - have the 4x4 NYS beach fishing license. Installed fishing rod holders to hold 10’ poles onto the trailsights on the hood yesterday. Aired down and drove onto the beach this morning - surf casted for a couple of hours.

Only cons so far for me - storage is limited, especially with the 2 Door. Can improve on this with a 4 door but I just think the 2 door looks much better. Gas milage isn’t that great either at 18/20.

The wait was tough but worth it for me. Love driving the Bronco. Shifts smoothly, rides well and I thought it would be louder. But what do you expect from a vehicle where you can take off the roof and doors?

Modifications are endless as well - rooftop tent, tailgate table, ditch/fog lights, side steps, bigger tires/lifts, fridge, winch, etc etc.

IF you like the outdoors and live an active lifestyle I highly recommend - so much fun. iF you’re just looking for a daily driver I’d go with something else.

Ah, so a good choice for my wife then.

The escape and bronco sport are almost the same vehicle except for exterior shape. The below advertisement explains the differences, and tries to make it sound like it is a vastly different vehicle. But they are very similar.

The Bronco Sport is based on the same Ford C2 platform that underpins the Ford Escape crossover

Yeah, her Escape (CD2 platform) will be similar but the newer Escapes (and Bronco Sport) are a different platform. Close enough though.

Wow, there are 9 Trim levels for just the big Bronco.

That is a lot.

Can someone with insight lay out where the sweet spot is there for best value for the dollar?

I'm super interested in the pricing too. The upper end Broncos are getting into the price for a 2023 Corvette. Which seems light years more vehicle. Obviously radically different things. But still.
