Revenge on Craigslist crook (1 Viewer)

Emerson Biggens

Footballguy
If I've got a guy's cell phone number, what are some good spamming, signing up for stuff, harassing type things I can do to him? He's a crook that stole from me and probably many more people. I'd love to know that while he got one over on me, his life is pretty miserable in the short term because of it.

Ideas?

It seemed to be his real number he's using in an iPhone 6 Plus.

He robbed a guy of two iPhones and sold them on Craigslist. They showed up stolen with AT&T, but showed clean on imei website check. 5 minutes after I made a call with my SIM card in it I got notifications from AT&T that my sim was now deactivated. He was gone with the wind.

I'm an idiot, yes, I know.

Being honest, I had no idea people still bought things on Craigslist, thought it was just for dude on dude hookups and scammy job opportunities

What did he steal from you?
Money. Once I saw it was a stolen phone I did the honest thing and contacted the owner of the phone and let them know I had it. Turns out he had been robbed of it and another phone a few days before. He was glad to get it back. I'm out several hundred dollars/

I tried to sign him and his phone number up for dude on dude Craigslist but it requires too much verification for my new fake account I tried to use. Not going to use my real one.

Interesting. My wife had her iPhone 5 swiped at Costco a couple years ago. AT&T told us the phone would be worthless if anyone tried to activate it, but I think I read somewhere that most of them end up in foreign countries where they can actually be used. So you could've sold it to a ******** and gotten your money back.

Calling the police down? If you have his number, they can prob identify him. If he is robbing people and then selling stolen property, unless you live in Camden or some ####ty city like that, they should have the time to investigate him.

I could have done that and gotten some of the money back, but figured I would attempt to get some good karma and get him his phone back.

I actually met with the police and the guy who owned the phone and made my claim as a part of his ongoing robbery report.

They are definitely pursuing his robbery but kind of laughed at the thought of me recovering any losses. I did give them his number and where I believe he works.

Depending on the jurisdiction, it might be too small potatoes for them to bother with. But good idea to report it imo.I had a credit card stolen and they rang up a $650 charge at a department store, where there would likely be surveillance footage of the transaction. I was surprised when the bank told me it would need to be over $5000 to warrant any investigation. Anything lower gets written off and passed on to all of us in higher interest rates.

If karma was a real thing, all these ******* lowlife thieves would get ball cancer.

Johnnycakes PM'ed me that the current exchange rate is one iPhone 6 for three Chinese wives.

I'm actually not surprised...I feel like the police don't really enforce the law for what they deem "little stuff."

There's a lady who routinely flies down our road at 7:30 every morning. It's a pretty hilly/curvy country road. She's going at least 65 in a 35. It's school bus pick-up time, and there are a lot of driveways and blind turns. I called the cops and just asked them to put a squad car on my road for 30 minutes. They told me they "didn't have time." I told them that I would certainly be there to say "I told you so," when she slams into a school bus or some other car coming out of their driveway. It just amazed me that they weren't even willing to entertain the idea.

Get a picture of him and post an obituary of him in the newspaper. Then when people want to buy something from him on Craigslist he won't be able to sell it because he's dead.

No offense but I wouldn't admit that I got scammed on CL. Just makes you look foolish.
Real life - no one knows - here - don't care if I look foolish. Hell, I was foolish. Just want to get the ####er back. He's now selling a car for a really, really good deal and looking for big strong bearded men.
Strong bearded men to help him with his rape fetish?

"Don't listen to my crys for help, it's just me playing along"

Not sure FBG would approve, but you could post his number up here, and we could do to him what we did for Tipsey in his voting contest!!!

text him you hope he used gloves to handle the phone because your sister works for the Sheriff's department and is currently having the phone sent out for prints.

Search google for similar parts of this guys story.

Like the name he used. Car he drove. Where you met etc...

Someone else may have posted info online about their encounter to help get more info.

What happens when you call his number?

Then lose that good karma by making his life miserable?

If you know where he works surely you can loudly shame him into coming up with the cash pretty quickly. There are lots of routes to go.

I'm letting them (police) go that route for now, but It's probable that the dude who sold me this phone isn't the guy who stole the phones, different description. I don't really want to do something like that because where he works is not a good part of town at all. Not worth getting shot for

I googled his # and it comes up with sites for escorts...you can tell us the truth now that you've blown your cover.
I saw that too. That's some nasty ####.

Can't you call him...agree to buy a phone again and meet him at XX with some police? or some people to beat the living crap out of him?
Cops said they were going to try something like this.
You sure?

The guy that answered the phone sounded black, I'm sure the cops would love the opportunity to beat the living crap out of him......oooooh, unless you meant cops not getting involved with a sting type operation? Ok, that part I buy

Post adds for common things at a reasonable price, and use his number, saying you work nights and prefer calls between 10pm-8am

Honda civic is a nice example. People are always looking for those, and it should get a lot of calls.

ask the owner for a reward - 50-100 would not be unreasonable...

Am I missing something?

Send in an email asking if it is still available or if he has any others similar to it. Maybe you can get him to meet up and sell you another one. Then do what you need to do...

Why would he want to lose another $425?

Don't be modest, you talked him down to $395, didn't you?
Naw mane, I'm way more street savvy than that. I only gave $375 for that stolen phone!

I know exactly what you should do.

1) Write down the phone number on a piece of paper. Also write the phrase "2K, drop is a go" underneath.

2) Also write the number down on another piece of paper, keep it separate.

3) Fold the note with the "2k" phrase so that it fits into an envelope, write "Stan" on the outside of the envelope in large, messy letters (but make sure it's reasonable). Seal the envelope. Don't just fold it and tuck the flap inside, actually seal it.

4) Go to a pay phone. Take out the other piece of paper with the number on it.

5) Call the number. As soon as someone (or even an answering machine) picks up the call, hang up immediately.

6) Tuck the envelope behind the back of the payphone so that it's visible, but also looks a little hidden.

7) Leave the payphone, go home.

8) Don't give money to ####### people on Craigslist.
