Robert Meachem comes up hobbling again! (1 Viewer)

What's the deal with Meachem being inactive??? Is he really struggling that bad in practice? I like to hear has the motivation to be good, but damn I could had Jacoby and opted for him instead in dynasty. I'm beginning to start second guessing my pick. Is he still recovering from his injuries?
You weren't expecting anything out of him in his rookie year, were you? I don't think most observers expected him to have any impact out of the gate. He'll have a chance to show his value in the second half of the season. Why? He'll have the practice and playbook under his belt. The Saints will know exactly what they're getting out of Henderson, as well as the other WR's, by that time. He can move up the depth chart as that picture becomes more complete.

Whether he is active or not, what did you expect from him game 1? He is not going to push Henderson aside this year, and Copper and Patten are running ahead of him. It was said a few weeks ago that the Saints ere going to almost "redshirt" the guy this year as he has gotten off to such a slow start.WR don't typically do much their 1st couple of seasons in the NFL...there are excpetions but a lot of WR are ghosts when they 1st get in the NFL.

Well, I think a guy who is supposed to be as talented as Meachem would at least be active in case of injury. The fact that he is among a very small amount of guys on the roster to not be active although being healthy troubles me. Just because he is a rookie doesn't mean he shouldn't be in there competing for at leats the 4th or evn 5th WR spot.

I thought the Meacham pick was a bad one when it was made, and this doesn't inspire any additional confidence. I felt that the Saints had some gigantic holes on defense that needed to be filled immediately and that drafting a new toy for Payton's offense didn't make sense. At the end of last season I wasn't saying "wow, if only the Saints had another WR they would have beaten the Bears in the playoffs". The Saints could have had a Tecmo Bowl quality Jerry Rice and they still wouldn't have beaten the Bears, because their defense was (and is) just a hemorrhaging wound that needs extensive and immediate attention. Scoring 28 points a game is no good when you're giving up 35.

Henderson hasn't caught a pass and Cooper only one, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see Meachem getting a chance next week. This offense needs something: why not meachem?

I'm hoping the guy can play CB
