Rosenfels (1 Viewer)

Wondering aloud if he has any value in a re-draft league? He has CLE this week and JAC next week...seems like he may be a viable option for the QB challenged. Dodds has him ranked as a low end QB1 this week...can he redeem himself to earn that ranking.

I am holding on to him as my #2 behind Warner in 2 leagues. I have Schaub and picked him up thinking that he was decent last year and he plays in a pass-happy offense with a good surrounding cast. I'm holding tight and also hoping I don't have to use him. Guys like Hill, Collins, Frerotte and Quinn are on the ww. I like Rosenfels' upside more than theirs.

he's been disappointing enough the past 2 weeks that i will not roll with him even in this favorable matchup this week.

I have no choice. I waited on a QB in a 14 team league and grabbed Schaub and Bulger. I happened to be at my computer when Schaub went down and grabbed Rosenfels. So far that was like catching a falling knife.

It has been one ugly year for me at QB.

I paid a lot of money to get him when Ben and Orton got hurt the same weekend. Huge disappointment. He should have had a monster day against the Ravens - you knew they wouldn't run the ball. 4 picks, including 1st and goal from the 1. Threw 2 HORRIFIC interceptions to a uncovered Ray Lewis over the middle. I hate QB's that a) throw off their back foot when pressured, b) make stupid decisions, and c) have that ####ified look on their face afterwards. Doesn't inspire confidence. Made my mind up to cut him and pick up Kerry Collins instead. He has great matchups the rest of the way, teams are forcing TN to throw, and he's inspiring confidence. No thanks Sage.

All that being said, he's on an offense that scores points, has 1 great and several good receivers, and has an RB who can take a screen to the house. So the ingredients are there. Not sure about the chef though.

I'm also on the Sage bandwagon, as I have Schaub and Campbell in a 16 team league, and I drafted Sage as backup insurance since there are never any qb's on the wire. I also have AJ, so Sage's struggles are killing me x2.

I would not be too critical of Sage's performance against Baltimore, since they have a nasty defense and make a lot of qb's look bad. I'm not sure what to think of Sage's performance last week, as I didn't see any of the game (other than highlights) until the Texans' final possession when Sage made that horrendous INT, although that was his only turnover of the game, which is an improvement.

Last week, was Houston running the ball so well that they were sticking with that for the most part, and that's why they weren't passing much?

Cleveland's pass defense is pretty bad, and they are coming off a short week to prepare as well. The only way this matchup could be better is if it was @Houston.

Same here, but with Garrard as the other option. Rough QB year. There are zero FA's out there too. *sigh*

Cleveland's pass defense is pretty bad......
Of course, their run defense is even worse.Against that Run D & considering Sage's struggles...Indy twice now, Minny & Baltimore...I think it'll be more the Slaton - Green show & less the Sage passing show.

I don't really think his value has changed any, if anything it's increased with Schaub still out a month. He's still good for 250yds and a TD or two, plus 2 or 3 picks a game.

You obviously didn't watch the Baltimore game. Twice dropped back in the pocket, went through his progressions, and cooly hit Ray Lewis between the numbers with NOBODY else around. Like he was color blind.

I'm considering starting Sage over Cutler this week. I initially assumed that Denver would run the ball more, but after re-visiting what they did @ Oak week 1, I am re-evaluating. Denv D has improved a bit, and Oak offense is horrid, so I just don't see many pts for them in Denv, whereas, I can see Hous/Clev turn into some sort of shootout... I can just see it now--Shanny starting to pound the rock for the second half of the season after throwing it the first half....his idea of offensive balance perhaps.

In the end, I'll likely wuss out & stay w/ Cutler, but I think Sage does better this week...

I picked up Rosenfels after Shaub got hurt and O'Sullivan was benched. Sage has let me down the last two weeks so I traded for Brett Favre and picked up Tyler Thigpen this week. With the remaining schedule of the three QB's one of them has a favorable matchup every week. (My start in bold, pass defense rank in parenthesis)

Week 12 Thigpen or Sage

Thigpen - Buffalo (13th)

Favre - at Tennessee (6th)

Sage - at Cleveland (19th)

Week 13 Favre

Thigpen - at Oakland (12th)

Favre - Denver (29th)

Sage - Jacksonville (18th)

Week 14 Thigpen

Thigpen - at Denver (29th)

Favre - at San Francisco (25th)

Sage - at Green Bay (3rd)

Week 15 Thigpen

Thigpen - San Diego (32nd)

Favre - Buffalo (13th)

Sage - Tennessee (6th)

Week 16 Favre

Thigpen - Miami (20th)

Favre - at Seattle (30th)

Sage - at Oakland (12th)

Week 17 Sage (or Shaub if he's back)

Thigpen - at Cincinnati (15th)

Favre - Miami (20th)

Sage - Chicago (30th)

 I would add however that I like the matchup better because it is in Cle and not Hou. If the Texans were at home I think they'd have the lead and would run more. In Cleveland they are more likely to be behind and having to throw. My league doesn't penalize for picks so that makes Sage alot more playable.
