***RUMOR*** Portis to Detroit (1 Viewer)

A Skins message board has the Skins making a trade where the Skins ###-#### the other team trading with them?Wow...thats a surprise. That trade doesnt begin to make sense, nor would their respective front offices even be looking at these types of trades at this point in the year. The Skins GM Vinny Cerrato might not even have a job after the season ends.
 (except for Cerrato being a "GM" - he's not; they don't have one)
Its not his offical title, but its the capacity he operates in, no?
Not if you define a "GM" as the person having final say (assuming owner approval of course) with coaching and personnel decisions. Gibbs runs that show. He's both the head coach and the team president. Cerrato certainly is "involved", but exactly how is unclear. I think he probably acts more as an advisor to Snyder on personnel matters.

And he loses to Snyder at racquetball. That's his MOST important function.

Think Danny Snyder would like a mulligan on the Portis for Champ trade?
No.
Really? I love Portis and all, but you simply don't trade the best cover corner in the league for a RB.
That's probably true. However, they didn't have that option. Bailey was leaving. He wasn't going to play in DC. That's pretty much why they had to throw in the draft pick: Denver knew Washington had to get rid of him.
BTW, the rumor in DC is that Bailey knocked-up the wife of a Washington Post reporter and that reporter told Bailey to leave town or he'd write the story in the Post.Whatever the true reason is, Bailey was leaving.
Any idea who the reporter is? :banned:
Nope. This is just a rumor I read at extremeskins a while ago. Several people said they had heard similar rumors.
Sports reporter or general reporter? If sports, was it a columnist or beat guy? Probably Wilbon, since he always on the road. :bag:
:lmao: I wish I had more clues. All I've heard is what I've said. Was Shirley Povich married? :o  :lmao:
hijack/this is the reason, according to rumor, why Chris Pronger left Edmonton. He was caught by his wife sleeping with a female Edmonton sportscaster. She told him he better demand a trade out of Edmonton, which he got./hijack
