I think it's also worth noting that the HOU RB's had zero targets. This will most definitely change once Foster returns, adding a hugely important dimension for Mallett. Not just the actual high-percentage/high-potential completions to Foster but how the threat of those will take attention away from Hopkins/AJ.

I thought it was a pretty fair assessment of his game yesterday, but if you prefer the box score scouting method, enjoy.

It was a refreshing break from Fitzpatrick. Never said anything about his stats being earth shattering, simply that he didn't even come close to losing the game! Even if it was an official stat, he'd still have it wrong. The butt hurt blinded him from reality. Mac believes it would have been an 85 yard interception return from a linebacker, however 1) It would almost certainly have bounced off his hands as it was a hard thrown ball 2) He'd have been tackled probably within 15 yards of the interception
I can get when someone almost picks off a WR screen pass - where there are no offensive players between the interceptor and the goal line AND forward momentum gives them a lead - that they might reasonably think it would be a pick 6, but homeboy is just delusional in this case.
Whitehurst threw for 194 against the Browns in roughly 3 quarters.

Do you think that had more to do with what the Browns were doing defensively? Stayed in off man frequently without putting pressure on the QB while the Texans game plan called for consistent quick hitters. Really baffling stuff. His first read was constantly open by 5 yards. When it wasn't bad things happened or Andre Johnson bails him out on 4th down.

Not doubting his quick release. Didn't watch much of him at Arkansas, but it was evident in his brief period with Michigan.
It takes more to be successful in this game than a big arm and a quick release though. I didn't see any of that Sunday.

After getting hurt at Cleveland, Mallett practiced all week. He was 21-of-45 for 189 yards. His passes were off target compared to Cleveland
Mallett suffered the pectoral injury at Cleveland. He was on injury report with a chest injury as probable and didn't miss a down.
Mallett is one tough SOB to play with an injury to a pectoral muscle, especially on the right side, which is his throwing side.
If the MRI shows a tear in Mallett's pectoral muscle, he could miss several games. The bottom line is that Ryan Fitzpatrick is likely back.
Mallett underwent treatment a long time after the game, and when he was asked if he was hurt, he flexed his right hand and said no.
Mallett played hurt through the game, which explains why he was so off target compared to the win at Cleveland.
Mallett played with an injury to his right pectoral muscle, will undergo an MRI and could be lost for several weeks.
