Sad news, John Saunders, ESPN anchor dead at 61 (1 Viewer)

very sad he was a class act and never made a show about him just a super solid announcer and i will mist him

John Saunders was a great broadcast journalist.  I have no memory of him ever inserting himself into a story.

I loved how his no nonsense approach contrasted with **** Vitale's all nonsense approach when they worked together.

Robin Roberts on Mike&Mike this morning, and she said that she saw Saunders in DC last week... and she said that he did not look well.

Some very nice tributes this morning on the first Sports Reporters since Saunders' death.

Definitely a class individual. He will be missed.

"sudden death" + "cause of death not reported" = suicide
What I'm thinking as well. As was said earlier, I hope that he's a peace now. Terrible to lose someone this way, and I feel awful for his family & friends.
He may have had a heart attack or had some undiagnosed ailment going on. His family said he wasn't feeling well in the past week. His wife found him unresponsive and not breathing early Wednesday morning and called 911. Paramedics couldn't revive him.

I liked listening to him on ESPN. RIP
