OOOoooo!The S3 already has a "double tap" feature for e-mail, etc but was missing one for web browsing. Is the Dolphin browser any good aside from the gesture?

Yeah, the two features I really like are gestures (including for bookmarks) and the LastPass add-on. There's also another add-on I like that lets you toggle between mobile version and full version of websites.

Was able to resolve this it appears by updating to the newest app off DirecTV's website. I had loaded mine a couple weeks ago in preperation for the season and they must have fixed a bug.

After switching and playing around with Android phones 2 years ago I have a really hard time going back to iOS. I find the home button infuriating. I've actually hit a point where I avoid using my iPad because of iOS...which seems kinda outrageous when I stop and think about it.My iPad has been little more than a paper weight since getting the S3. I just find using it so infruriating.

Any thoughts on the T9 swipe vs Swype keyboard?
Also is there a task killer app or a way to set certain apps from always being killed when closing and others like say Dolphin browser to stay open?
I know there are a bunch of automated task killers but I just want something a little more simple.

Was all set to go iphone, but the screen size made me go with the Galaxy. Company ordered it and should be here in a couple days.

lol @ people in the iPhone thread saying "4in screen is the sweet spot." Before it was the 3.5 is the perfect size... I'm sure they will be saying the same thing when Apple drops something close to 5in in 2 years.iPhone was the first smartphone I had, but they have been behind the competition since then. It seems like Apple products are primarily cool for the +40 crowd & hipsters.

I think they are close. Apple wins on polish, design, and maybe battery life. The Galaxy S3 wins on screen, versatility, and nfc. I think the OS is completely a matter of preference at this point, and horsepower appears similar. Personally I think the Galaxy Note 2 will be the best smart phone in the market over the next few months, but then again, I use the OG Note so I'm one of the few that actually prefer the size. They added a lot of things to the iPhone. People that like the iPhone should be happy. The fact that many of those things were available on android already is minor.

I'm saying the only thing they added today that Androids don't have is the better camera that the 4s already had. LTE, bigger screen, panoramic pics...all already done on Android.

Agreed. But part of that is they here simply isn't that much more of an envelope to push on the hardware side. Yes, more speed might make a mobile version of photoshop or cad possible, but would they really make a difference? The new frontier is the software side. I'm not sure what anyone - apple, htc, Motorola, Samsung, lg, Nokia, Rim - can possibly do with hardware that would make jaws hit the floor.

Don't forget turn by turn directions, but it's on their sub-par mapping ap.Also, don't be surprised if the Apple battery specs are better than the competition. The screen size is still small compared to most devices.

iPhones are the only smartphones I've owned since the Windows Mobile days. I'm still on an old 3GS and was planning to make the switch, but wanted to see the iPhone 5 presser first to see if they'd bring anything up to keep me onboard since I'm already so $$$ invested in apps, accessories, etc.People are basically right on the the S3 and iPhone 5 are pretty much on par. The issue for me is, the iPhone really needs to be way ahead to get people to deal with being tied into their ecosystem. Hardware wise these latest batch of phones are so similar since no one went QuadCore. Whatever phone you get between the S3, HTC One X, and iPhone 5 will be pretty good. I think people feel who feel more passionately that the S3 is a "better" phone is mostly based on the the preference towards the Android operating system. Now that I'm on it... I LOVE IT. Again just a matter of preference: customization vs. ease of use. Part of it could also stem for the "there first" attitude that Android phones have had many of the "new" features of the iPhone 5 for sometime now. Like the previous poster mentiond, Apple used to be at the forefront of hardware/features...now they're just focused on refining the iPhone (can't really blame them as I don't see how smartphones can make major leaps from here on out).If you're not tied to the Apple ecosystem, I'd suggest you give the S3 a honest shot.What else makes it 'no doubt' better?
