This was before Philly had built it. Sadly, Joe Frazier died without ever having been honored by the city he grew up in from the time he was fourteen.
really kind of untrue. It is weird how all of these people who don't live in the city have all of this information. Sure there isn't a national recognition for Joe, but look in North Philly at the murals and near his gym, etc., etc.
Also should consider Joe wasn't born in Philly, he was considered more of an "adopted son" to the city
ETA: if you want a boxer who should get more love from the city, I would say it should be Bernard Hopkins. Sure he wasn’t a HWY so mainstream doesn’t know him as well, but he was dominant and made me some good cash throughout his career.
