San Francisco 49ers @ Carolina Panthers Playoff Thread (1 Viewer)

I keep telling you people. Money rules. Story lines rule. Better the storyline, the more viewers, the more $$$. That's all the NFL cares about.

The league knows how hot the Seattle/SF rivalry is. Rematch will get crazy viewers.

Just like the Chargers have no prayer later today. League wants what could quite possibly be the final Manning/Brady AFC championship we'll ever see. Will bring huge viewers.

More viewers than either alternative. NBA and NFL are the worst at fixing postseason games to serve an agenda.
Yup, nobody would watch SEA - Carolina.
You obviously didn't read my post correctly. I never said nobody would watch it. I said MORE people would watch a rematch of Hawks/Niners.
NFL isn't hurting for ratings.
Never said they were. But you do you really believe a billion dollar business is going to scoff at being a billion and one dollar business?
Cut it out. The ratings between the two games wouldn't be very different. Most certainly not enough to risk fixing or influencing the outcome. Grow up.

Has there ever been a qb this streaky? He goes from looking horrible to the best qb in football from quarter to quarter?

Why didn't the refs call the twelve in the huddle when it was pointed out to them while it was happening?
I'm guessing refs aren't supposed to look into every infraction that's pointed out to them.
Counting isn't hard. The twelfth man ran right in front of the ref.
That was incredible. What is going on with this game?
The refs are throwing it. I have no idea why though.

oh look a flag to bail out SF again
Just to be clear - did you think that was PI or not?
Pass looked uncatchable. Had it been catchable, then yes it would have been PI.
:lmao: whatever
You are not aware of refs ever saying there was no PI b/c the ball was uncatchable?

And now they show at half that SF had 12 men in the huddle on that last TD. You guys are right. This game is being fairly officiated.
Stop making up words. I didn't say the game was being fairly officiated. I realize you have the maturity of a small child, but that isn't my fault. Or anyone else's. That PI call would have been made in any game. If you are actually a frequent NFl viewer! you know that. Take off the homer glasses for a second.

Was there a penalty on the Boldin catch too? Was that all on the refs?

Screw that. The home team's players should be allowed to call penalties on the opposition, especially when message board junkies on FBGs feel the game isn't being fairly officiated.
:lmao:

The dude broke the huddle right in front of the official.
Congrats on missing the point.

That is not why SD has no chance today.

game is officially rigged
For who?
Pretty sure it depends on who you are rooting for. But make no mistake, the refs have it I for the _______ (fill in the blank)
I guess. No dog here, just enjoying a good, hard game. Haven't seen any unfair calls. If Carolina wants to punk it up after every play, they deserve the flags. :flag:
Really, so you thought the first personal foul where SF would have had to punt (instead of a FG) and the head butt weren't unfair when the exact same head butt on Boldin wasn't called was fair? Both teams are "punking" it up. How about Steve Smith's first reception where the play was over and he got up and the 49er hit him to knock the ball out of his hand after he had already tackled him and the play was over? They are both doing it, but SF hasn't gotten called and Carolina has in really key points, all of which contributed to getting 13 instead of 3. That's unfair.

They just showed the reply of 12 men on the field before the TD and that wasn't called either. Was that fair? Pretty damn obvious they had 12 when one in the huddle runs off the field. The Panthers D told the reds and they ignored it. Just atrocious.
This. The TD and pass interference calls were fine...the rest notsomuch

True on the 12-man no call. But they WOULD have scored anyway. Cam is a great player, game's far from over.

Touched a nerve on Keaton. Getting so defensive indicates that even he realizes the refs are screwing the Panthers.

That 2nd comment was more in general to everyone in here saying the refs are calling it both ways than it was directed to you.

As for the PI, I'm saying it should have been a no call. Yes, I've seen it called a penalty and not called. But there was no way he was ever catching pass, so in my opinion you don't call it.

LOL. I'm not a Niners fan.....am a Packer fan. Can't stand Harbaugh or Kaep. It just annoys me to see people rant about good calls......when there are so many bad ones to focus on instead. It destroys the person's perceived objectivity.

I'll concede that the 49ers would have scored on that drive but would it have been a TD if they were moved back another 5 yards?

Fair enough. I agree on the PI. Gotta play the ball.

Big drive here for the Panthers here. They need points on this drive so that the game doesn't get away from them
