Schefter reports Chambers on the trading block (1 Viewer)

(KFFL) Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins WR Chris Chambers is not on the trading block, according to a highly placed team source, contrary to earlier reports.

This is code for "He's on the block".

I too am on the Chambers is underrated bandwagon. He's had crappy QBs throwing to him for six years. I'd love to see him in Dallas or New Orleans.

I'd love to see the 49ers make a move for him, maybe Miami would be interested in Kwame Harris, he's worn out his welcome here.

The Dolphins got a 2nd and a 7th for Wes Welker. Contracts and cap numbers aside; Chambers has to be worth as much as Welker on the open market.
I'd give up more for Welker than for Chambers, personally. They probably both bring as much to the table, receiving-wise, but Welker's also a standout returner, special teamer, and can even kick an XP or two in a pinch. And, oh yeah, he's cheaper.

Chambers would be a top 5 WR in Philly this year. Mcnabb was making Stallworth pretty good. A guy named Owens too.
He wouldn't even start in Philly, let alone be a top 5 WR.
 I usually agree with you, but I personally have Chambers and Reggie Brown as equals right now, and that's with McNabb throwing to Brown and whatever trash is throwing the ball to Chambers. If these two guys swapped teams, I'd have Chambers in the top 15 and Brown around 50.
The reason Chambers and Reggie Brown are equal in value is because Chambers is the 3rd-most-targeted WR in the NFL behind only Holt and Ocho Cinco (and ahead of TO, Marvin Harrison, etc). If Chambers goes to Philly, do you really think he's getting 160 targets again?Edit: Chambers was the 4th most targeted player in the league last season, right behind Torry Holt, Donald Driver, and Anquan Boldin. Reggie Brown was 42nd, right behind Reggie Williams, Rod Smith, and Randy Moss. And Brown finished with 150 more yards and twice as many TDs. Just sayin'.

I don't think Philly even looks at Chambers. He's expensive and can't catch.

Williams might be intriguing due to the contract, and Clayton because he's still young.

I'd put Chambers third on that list - unless I got a good look at some tape and saw that his issue catching was poorly located balls significantly more than bad receiving. I personally think it's both - but more receiving, as other WR in Miami have had better rates.

As a dolphin fan and someone who has watched chambers for years, his catch % is harrible. He is a 50% receiver. All #1 WRs for their teams are usually at 60% or more of targets. Before you guys jump on the "crappy QB throwing to him" bandwagon, there are plenty of WRs with crappy QBs throwing to them that manage to make 65% of their catches. Both Chambers and McMichael made me  as a dolphin fan when I remember the days of Fryar, Keith Jackson, Terry Kirby et al who would take the ball throwing machine and have a contest to see how close they could get to it and still make a catch. If chambers or mcMichael played that game, they'd be out faster than Kramer in "the contest"
