Hey Guys,

Can some of you search gurus help me find a pic?

The print version of USA Today had a pic of Chris Simms on one knee struggling to get back up. Can you help me find that?

I did a quick search in the normal places and didn't find anything.

That was one of the toughest performances I've seen in a while. Help is appreciated in finding the pic.

Thanks.

J

Youngblood breaking and playing with a broken leg through the playoffs and Superbowl; Lott and his finger; E. Smith and the shoulder against the Giants are the only other performances I can even compare to what Simms did yesterday. That kid has some BIG BRASS ones and I hope he has a speedy recovery.

The photo sort of reminds me of that shot of Y.A. Tittle, which might be one of the best football photographs ever taken.

That vaults way up the list to one of my all time favorite pics. Hope he makes a quick and full recovery.
Too bad the uni is so clean...There's also a good one of Brunell on the front page of The Washington post with his pants covered in blood.

I may add McNabb's performance against Arizona on a broken leg/ankle ( I forget exactly). No where near as crazy as Youngblood but I think he threw for 3 td's that game.

the images of Football are awesome.

I bottom fished this year at QB signing Grossman and Simms because a) i didnt have anybody and b) I thought that both had the heart and talent but hadnt really gotten a chance.

I think Simms could have done well this year if he had some protection and had a few games under his belt to learn not to force throws.

I think Grossman still is raw but he has something about him that will let him score.

THis portion of the NFL is totally incredible -- gives guys a chance to play and not ##### about contracts.

If we had more Warrick Dunns and Chris SImms in sports, we would spend less time complaining about non-essential crap.

Had Simms died due to blood loss/internal bleeding, would he be considered stupid?

Admittedly this post helps veer the thread off topic, so I apologize. To the list, I'd add Brian Griese's separated shoulder in the Broncos - Raiders game 2000, Week 11. (http://www.outsports.com/review/review111500.htm) Guy goes 17 of 22 passes for 177 yards in the second half and wins 27-24. Gutsy performance if I've ever seen one.

From www.sportsandortho.com:

* Grade 1: A mild shoulder separation involves a sprain of your AC ligament that does not move your clavicle and looks normal on X-rays.

* Grade 2: A more serious injury tears the AC ligament and sprains or slightly tears the CC ligament, putting your clavicle out of alignment to some extent.

* Grade 3: The most severe shoulder separation completely tears both your AC and CC ligaments and puts your shoulder joint noticeably out of position.

* Grades 4, 5 and 6 AC separations are very rare.

Originally I'd heard it was a grade 2 separation, but the article above says grade 3. I don't care. Either one makes him a tough sob in my book.

I don't know. Are construction workers or Alaskan Crab fisherman who die on the job considered stupid
If they continue to work with a ruptured spleen, I would think yes. My point is that playing through pain, while admirable, can be downright stupid. And don't roll your eyes at me tough guy. :boxing:

Huh?He had no idea what was wrong. :whoosh:
I know he had no idea. I would think that had he died, people would be bashing him for playing through that kind of pain. And let's not forget, he is in obvious pain, dizzy, passing out, unable to stand up while on the football field. Clearly there is something wrong with him. Coaches, trainers and doctors can step in and make decisions for him, ya know.

Not NFL, but QB Matt Dunnigan playing in and winning a Grey Cup with a broken collar bone was pretty impressive.
