I have both Young and Hall and no way can you feel comfortable starting any of them next week. Why? Michael Pittman. He had a ton action in GL situations. Unless either Hall or Young step up and clearly become the workhouse back between the 10's then the situation is a complete disaster. Or if an injury were to occur the one standing would get a huge boost in value. Cutler's rise to stardom is obvious, the Broncos are going to put a ton of points up this year. We just have no freaking idea whose going to score the running TD's. Thank God I drafted Young as my 4th running back because I still have better options going forward. Now, Hall owners, can we start Hall next week?
On the contrary, I've found it can be quite profitable to play the waiting game on them (holding the top 2 backs). With that said, I knew this was a possibility so I made sure I grabbed CJ3 as well as a backup. So far it's worked out.I learned my lesson with the Denver backfield back in the Tatum Bell/Mike Bell days.Never again....and I would suggest to all of you to avoid it like the plague.
Let's see, Hall went for 10/60 for 6.1 avg and Young went for 7/36 and a TD for a 5.1 avg. The only way they "stink" is for fantasy owners. It will also be a 4 headed monster by mid-season when Torain is healthy.Wow, not only a 2 headed RBBC but a 3 headed one. Against one of the worst run defenses none of them put up decent enough numbers that you can be happy with. Yes, 2 of them scored but I wouldn't count on that in this offense. Ugly, ugly situation.
I really thought Selvin might be the guy but he looked average at best when he got the ball. Bottomline, they all stink which means Cutler is going to have a HUGE year....

The Raiders are one of, if not the worst rush defenses in the league so their ypc means absolutely nothing to me (especially on 10 carries or fewer). I was going by more of the eye test in that none of the guys looked very good and a guy you could plug in vs. a tough defense and get the job done. Last year they had goal line/red zone and short yardage problems with their RB's and my guess is that it won't change much this year. It's early and I could be wrong but that trio is just not very impressive to me.Let's see, Hall went for 10/60 for 6.1 avg and Young went for 7/36 and a TD for a 5.1 avg. good analogy with NE...another reason they'll be passing a lot is that Denvers defense should be terrible again this year so they'll need to shoot it out regularly. Their talent is at the QB/WR/TE positions so it would make sense that they would put the ball in the hands of their playmakers...I thought both Young and Hall looked fine. Young broke a tackle nicely on his TD run and looked good using his speed to take it to the outside on a couple of runs. Hall has always looked good running the ball. I don't think Pittman looked that impressive, but it is hard to tell in short-yardage situations. If he keeps getting opportunities, then it is a complete mess.I'm starting to see this team as New England West. There are the obvious comparisons of Royal to Welker and Marshall to Moss. Cutler is a stong-armed QB and they seem to be evolving into a pass-first offense. They also just plug and play with the running backs leaving it a fantasy blackhole. New England is rotating Maroney and Morris with Jordan getting a few touches and now Faulk is coming back suspension and you know he will be the 3rd down back.
.. Guppies love Selvin Young I guess..
