Serious Business Dynasty League (1 Viewer)

Reasons for disbanding the league:1. FCFS is unfair2. Weekly waivers is unfair3. FAAB is unfair4. Lowball trade offers to Clinton5. Eephus has all the crap closers6. Too many keepers7. Did you know Dr. Detroit owns over 500 baseball caps?
My thoughts:1. No it's not2. N/A3. N/A4. I was gonna try to make a decent offer but I can't figure out how Cabrera is eligible at 3B.5. Well then stop picking up all the crap closers.6. I like keeping everyone, even my terrible players.7. I didn't, but that's pretty awesome.
Obviously more valuable at 3rd but the guy is putting up Pujolsian numbers and doesn't look to be slowing down. When I took him 5th overall years ago this is what I was expecting. He's a monster. And just like the Tigers should be looking to unload him, I am. But let's be honest It's not like I'm trying to unload Salary here. I need some major prospects and a near marquee player in return.

Just took a peak. Miggy is on pace for one of the most monstrous seasons ever. Could be a top 20 in history.

Did you see my offer from yesterdayish?
Yeah, not bad but I can't make that move. Not a big believer in Porcello. Bautista is an AVG killer and there's something I don't quite trust about a guy who's on pace for 45 hr when his career best is 16.

lol at finless being pissed at a lowball offer after some of the crap he's sent before.

Should I have started with Kemp, Josh Johnson, Broxton, Huff and Prado?

Maybe I was hoping you were drunk and would hit accept.

At any rate, lighten up....guy.

Well there is your problem right there. This is an OBP league and he's well over 350 there bro.

I'm light. Link to terrible offers from me? Might have been in a spiritual blackout.

It's still Bautista. Can't buy that guy in a package including Cabrera. Sorry, Harry.

I get it Pik but I'm not interested in Bautista. He'll fade back into mediocrity right after his 60 game ban. My advice is to hold because I see no real suckers in our league and who knows? He might have just found his stroke. Cabrera? He may finish his career 13 years from now with the best numbers in history. It's been all downhill for Shake since he traded him back to me. Got some guys coming off the DL....making a push for the title.

Lind for Jennings and Santana is exactly the one I was thinking of. A dead closer for a top-5 prospect wasn't much better. To each his own. To your credit, you've also sent some of the better offers I've received (Weaver comes to mind), and you're one of only 2 teams I've traded with. kumbaya and all that.

I wouldn't bury Nathan yet. He's been the most consistent closer in baseball and it's just TJ. He'll come back stronger than ever.

No matter what you think of his chances for recovery, its still a bad offer.

I disagree with this. Lets see where they're going in drafts next year.Just making sure I'm hearing you correctly. Nathan for Desmond is a bad offer in a Dynasty?
With your format, for Ian Desmond, probably not. For Desmond Jennings, yes it is.
Well that's why I crush leagues and you're, well, dparker713.
Last update on the league was PIK way out in front and RnR coming off back-to-back championships, so I apologize and recognize your dominance.

Do you play in this league? I've got a GIGANTIC 2nd place lead and well out in first in my other two leagues.Your statement, I just don't agree with it. No matter how well Nathan recovers the trade is horrible? I understand Jennings is a good prospect. Probably why I drafted him when he was 18. Anyhow if Nathan fully recovers which he should why is an outfield prospect that has never seen the Majors, and won't until at best early/mid next season be worth so much more than one of the most dominant closers in baseball over the last half decade? How many highly rated prospects come through and fall flat? How many years in a row was Nathan either close to or the most dominant closer in baseball? Arguments can be made either way but to say it's a horrible offer is ridiculous. We're talking Jennings here, he's got great potential but he's also got a good deal of bust written on him as well. He's striking out a lot, not hitting for average or getting on base a helluva lot and he's shown ZERO power. All he;s doing is stealing bases.

Yep, every year when baseball season comes around Im hoping that this will be the year I can maybe, just maybe, finish second. The trade involves future contributions on both sides, yet you're entirely discounting the risk of an older pitcher recovering from a major injury. A pitcher, who's main value comes from his contribution to one category with high turnover, yet at the same time you ding Jennings for only stealing bases. You've described Nathan through rose-colored glasses and Jennings in derogatory terms to try and skew the analysis to a more even footing - it's entirely transparent. Yet even before you went this route, you used an even more tiresome rhetorical device - an ad hominem attack.

Uh, okay. What did I skew? Jennings is a minor league with mediocre numbers. Nathan has been the most consistent closer in baseball up until his injury. You can call it rose colored or ad hominem...I see facts and statistics. While Nathan may contribute in the Saves category he's not a one trick pony. He will not hurt you in the other 4. I've already got Rajai Davis rostered....I'm going to hold off on Jennings

I have some players up for bidding.

Brian McCann

Troy Glaus.

Matt Holliday

Raul Ibanez

Chipper Jones

Derek Lowe

Bronson Arroyo

and will listen to offers for Lincecum and possibly Strasburg.

:thumbup:I might regret that down the road but Theriot is immediately useful for me and Bell will have a tough time cracking my lineup soon.
I like that other guyalso if you want to move him. I have him in most leagues already.
I like him a lot too, but I threw an offer out there.

Berserker sends:Carlos GonzalezDelmon Young toHoos First for:Brian McCannMatt HollidayDiscuss.
I was surprised you accepted it to be honest. I really like Carlos. Figured he might be untouchable for you, but I guess not. I personally cant stand Holliday for some reason, he puts up the #'s just not a fan. Has Delmon finally turned the corner? I think so, but you never know. He is still only 25, seems like he's been around forever. Im not sure about getting rid of McCann, but I have Flowers coming up next year hopefully to take some sting away.I like my team better than before the trade, which is all I can ask.

I like Cargo best in the trade..

It was definitely hard to pull the trigger on that. Carlos Gonzalez is my favorite real-life player who doesn't play for the Astros or Rangers...and one of my favorites in fantasy as well. But I just couldn't pass up Holliday. He's only 30, in the prime of his career, and is historically strong in August-September.

I still may not have done that trade straight up. But with my issues at catcher (I think I've used 8 different guys this year), getting a guy who produces like an OF in McCann, I felt I had to take it. I've always loved the potential of Young and drafted him probably 3 rounds too early just to get him in this league, so seeing him having a career year is nice. But I think he's playing way over his head right now. He still won't take a walk and has a ridiculously high average with RISP.

Still, if Arencibia had been recalled 2 weeks ago instead of today, I may not have made this deal. This trade has the potential to backfire on me bigtime (CarGon went yard twice tonight!!), but in the running for some $$, I felt I had to take the chance.
