Heinrich: You are impeding this investigation #SessionsHearing

Heinrich now on to Sessions and Rosenstein never bringing up performance issues re Comey.

Heinrich hits hard on Sessions obstructing the Congressional investigation.

There is no "appropriateness" privilege. #SessionsHearing

This is an embarrassing, sad, pathetic performance. But I fully expect that Trump supporters will call it a victory for Donald Trump, in which Sessions forcefully exonerated the President and exposed Comey as a liar.

interesting Blunt question, "so you had no room for private meetings that night?" Right after a series of Yelsnick questions. If he were a dem, I'd smell a trap

I'm new to watching this stuff, but it's interesting to watch how much more comfortable he is responding to the R's, but not so with the D's.

I'd vote for Heinrich.  Hope the DNC is paying attention.
I was gonna point out that he's a first term senator who only served a couple Congresses in the House before that. But then I remembered that we elected a inept reality TV show clown with no public service experience as president so I suppose that don't really matter.

Seriously, it's an interesting idea.

Looking forward to Kamala Harris.  Unlike most of the others asking questions, she knows how to ask direct questions and won't let Sessions maneuver much.

I'm sorta maybe possibly proactively asserting for the Pres just in case ya know I dont want to, um, answer

Sen. King has it exactly right: POTUS hasn't invoked executive privilege so

the Attorney General has to answer Congress's questions, period.

From now on when someone asks me a question I'm going to refuse to answer because the prez might not want me to.

I gotta say - the way these guys don't pass out is amazing to me.  The pressure must be so intense.

I'm just assuming at some point in the Civil War there was a battle where the Union soldiers were led by a guy named Angus King and the Confederate soldiers were led by a guy named Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III.  And it went pretty much like this line of questioning is going.

The attorney general of the United States just admitted he has never asked

for a briefing on Russia's attack on our election.

Colonel Angus?

ETA - @Bruce Dickinson - kind of disappointed in you not making the Colonel Angus joke considering how big a SNL fan you are (and how much smarter you are than me)

Lankford Defending Sessions' refusal to answer by citing Holder's refusals that were eventually overturned in court might be peak bothsidesism.

"Remember when that other AG tried this and got smacked the hell down?  That means you get to do it too and I am shocked that anyone would suggest otherwise!"
