Shanny and Terrell (1 Viewer)

Shanny said the Terrell, based on his work this offseason, will be getting more playing time. What do you think this means? Will he take over the #3 Slot WR this season or just move up from the 5th option at WR to the 4th? do you think he has a chance to make starter in the next couple of seasons with an aging Rod Smith on the roster?

He's a free agent in my Dynasty league and thinking about using a pick on him in the draft. Which round do you see him going in with this news?

Somewhere last part of the fifty-second, first part of the fifty-third, round. But, you've got a good point, he's probably a good match for DEN's offense philosophy, has a good shot at the #3 WR spot, will get some red zone targets....a deep sleeper.

Somebody has to surface in Denver.....maybe Lelie, maybe Terrell, maybe "The Duke", maybe Chad Jackson?

I can't find the link, but the Rocky Mountain News printed an article a couple of days ago about how Terrell hasn't missed an offseason workout & Shanahan being very impressed with both his work ethic & the huge amount of talent he has.

I could easily see Terrell passing Lelie & becoming a #2 WR since Lelie just isn't developing into the WR that DEN needs. If you're going to take a flyer on a WR, this wouldn't be a bad guy to do it on. If something wakes this kid up, he could morph into a #1 WR in DEN - remember, he's learning from a WR in Rod Smith who's work ethic & humility is 2nd to none.

Full disclosure - I own Terrell in a dynasty league (picked him up as a $1 FA in the middle of last season), and I absolutely hated him when he was with the Bears.

I heard the exact same stuff last year in Pats camp. There was also the added dimension of reuniting with Brady. There were definetly high hopes that he would contribute. Maybe things have changed in Denver but from what I saw the guy just isn't good and showed absolutely nothing.

The guy got lazy once he got his payday from the Bears. If he has blown all his cash, look for him to put some effort into the game again.

Hmmmm. Let's see, at best the #3 WR in Denver's offense. Anyone know what kinda numbers the #2 WR put up in Denver's offense? Myself, I wouldn't touch it or even consider it. Denver runs the ball and their QB locks onto one target too often or runs it himself. It's not like Terrell is a spring chicken. He might even end up being cut before the season.

I cannot believe that anyone is wasting time thinking Terrell can be a viable player. He has had way too many years in this league with subpar performances to be considered anything more than a marginal player.

Yea! Another off season = more "This is the year David Terrell breaks out" talk.

I hear Ryan Leaf and Jeff George are staging comebacks too.

You know, I went back & looked at Terrell's career, and it made me think you guys are probably right. The guy has never done anything meaningful, and he had some opportunity.I guess I'm just sick & tired of DEN being razor think at WR for virtually the entire time that Shanahan has been here, and I remember how he picked McCaffrey off the scrap heap after the Giants & 9ers discarded him and turned Easy Ed into a legit threat who posted solid numbers.

Ah, wth, Terrell is worth the flyer in dynasty leagues with deep rosters. There are guys out there on rosters who will never be impact players, and at least Terrell does seem to have some ability. Like I said earlier, if only Rod Smith can rub off on him...

You forgot one key factor here...who was chucking the balls to Easy Ed? :) I remember one year I had Elway, Rod Smith, and Ed...pretty good fantasy year for me that year. I believe it was '97 or '98.

I know what you're saying, but I'm going to post something that you probably won't believe.Plummer in the past 2 years has put up numbers that Elway in his best consecutive years had a very hard time matching. Plummer's last 2 years are comparable to Elway's best.

Hey! Pass the smelling salts, will ya'?

53rd round?! How long is your freaking draft?!

I think it means Denver is in the process of trying to trade for a WR (Javon Walker anyone?) and Mike Shanahan wants to put out the flame of Denver desperately needing WR help.
That sounds about right to me.The problem will be when they give J.Walker the # they had in mind paying him. You know, the same # that made J.Lewis run back to resign with BAL a day or two later. Based on Walkers quotes I'm guessing he's not going to settle for anything less than big $'s and GB is positioning themselves as unwilling to move him for anything less than fair compensation. I doubt DEN is willing to give either Walker or GB what they are looking for.
