Shark Pool combined effort mock - Drafting now! (1 Viewer)

Jerry Jones sprints to the podium on his artificial hips to draft Derrick Henry, RB Alabama

Enormous/violent runner provides an added dimension to an already formidable running game.  Jerry predicts Super Bowl and pours a celebratory Johnny Walker Blue
We take a LB at 4 with a bum knee and a straight line over rated runner.  This would literally be my worst nightmare.  Passing an Dodd there is shocking.

2.43 The Tennessee Titans select Su'a Cravens, LB/S USC

Frankly, we're not sure where he'll play, whether he's the next Polamalu or Urlacher, Honey Badger or none of the above, but the kid makes plays.

I felt the same way, was considering him in a few more spots but he doesn't fit anywhere, or everywhere. If nothing else he can be the next Steve tasker.

Nice pick, he was in play for 2.48

It seems the tweeners are finding more places on defenses recently. He's been compared to Shaq Thompson, which I'd be good with - although we're penciling him in at safety.

the Titans will probably be willing to trade down from 2.45 if someone wants to jump up from the late 2nd for a fair price.  (if not I'm 75% decided who we'll pick)

Pass happy nfl a lb that can pass cover like a safety  or a de that can drop back like a lb is a great tool for defense. Players that can slide into another position, like a safety sliding up to play nickel, are becoming as common as 3rd down backs

2.13 Oakland Raiders:  Jonathan Bullard, DE/DT Florida

Bullard joins a pretty solid defensive line already, and is very much like last year's 2nd round picks, Mario Edwards Jr.  He offers versatility as end or tackle, but will be most useful as an interior pass rusher.  Unlike Edwards, a DE who can rush from the inside,  3-tech will probably be his true position, and he'll join a DT rotation of Dan Williams, Jelly Ellis, and Leon Orr, all 310+ pound run stuffers.  With Mack, Mario, and Autry, the Raiders have 4 players that are comfortable at multiple positions on the line.

The phone switchboard at Raider offices has collapsed under the weight of irate callers regarding a certain defensive back.  Patience, grasshoppers.

Panthers are high on Cravens because he is similar to Shaq. I like the pick and I like his versatility, but not sure he'll go as high as you took him in the actual draft. There are a lot of strong safeties (Panthers appear to see him as a safety first) that should be around in the late 2nd/early 3rd. I don't see the Panthers will take him at 30, but it wouldn't shock me if they trade up in the 2nd like they did last year if they want him no matter what. I'd think the Panthers go something like Dodd or Alexander at 30 and see which SSs are around at pick 62.

I'm here.  Will either trade or make the pick by 9 (c)

Just looking to move back a bit and add another 17 pick or 4th

Gosh darn stupid UI. I'll trade Cincy's 2nd and 4th for this pick and since I am too lazy to look it up, we can work out a 2017 4th, if it is short, etc. I'd like to take a guy and honestly not have to worry about being a hold up this weekend! :)

it would take your 2nd and 3rd for this pick and our 5th http://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp  which I'll do; or swap this year's 2nds if you add next year's 2nd. (that might be asking too much)

Next year's 2nd is way too much. We are only 50 apart on this year's 2nd and 4th. Next year's 2nd is way more just jumping up 10 picks. I checked a future value chart and it said next year's picks weren't much lower than the present year, especially when dealing with lower picks. 50 is basically another low 4th.

I'll stick with the 2nd, 4th and next year's 4th or 2nd and next year's 3rd, which should be worth more than 100.

FWIW, I was drafting an email with that exact offer.

After trading away the 2.55 and next year's 3rd, Cincy selects at pick 2.45:

Will Fuller, WR ND

I thought about him at 1.24, but felt he wasn't a good value there. At 2.45, he's a great value and will be a phenomenal piece of the offense as I think he is far better than Jones/Sanu. With his speed and Green and Eifert to take the focus of the defenses, he will get a lot of one on one opportunities. We will work on the drops, but if Ted Ginn can get open for 10TDs even while dropping 5-6 wide open TDs, Fuller having Green/Eifert will get a lot of long plays.

Also, with WR needy teams like Detroit (Jones <> Calvin), New Orleans, Buffalo, Atlanta (Sanu <> old White), Houston (took TE in first), Washington and Minnesota (when Andy realizes Treadwell is slower than he is), I had to make a move to get the last top tier WR.

Peace out and have fun this weekend! Nice to be done.

makes a lot of sense and he's one of the players I was considering had I not dealt the pick.  But I felt he didn't fit our needs.  He does fit well in Cincy.

TheDetroit lions trade

2.15 + 2017 2nd to

cleveland browns

for joe Thomas. With the browns getting Tunsil, Thomas becomes expendable. The left side of the line is now upgraded. Browns on the clock

Too many WR needy teams in those 10 picks as well. It was he and Coleman I really liked to be speedsters/good RAC guys on the other side of Green. I like Robinson/Fuller as 1st/2nd for Cincy. Maybe I'll regret Robinson over Billings, but fits two solid needs with BPAs.

With NYG holding 2.48, he wouldn't have been there at 2.55

A Lawson, Whitehair, Fuller draft is a home run. You suck  :D
Hey, you took Whitehair before my Miami pick and I had to go with Nkemdiche! He could work out with Suh or completely bust. I liked the potential Apple/Whitehair combo feeling like I got both BPA and their biggest needs in two picks along with high floors and right away contribution. Oh well, it's like FF, you always miss some by a pick or two.

No love for the joe Thomas trade? I figured I was better off trading so

1. No 2nd rd bust for once

2. I know no one has drafted him

3. Clever way to fill a need

Two 2nds seems like a lot more than they'll get if he's traded for real.

I thought about that, but I also see the 2nd rd history of lions drafts. Seriously, go through the last 10-15 years, raiola is about the only viable 2nd end pick we've had. So I'm perfectly happy to take Thomas for that price.

**i originally offered 2.15 and my 3rd, which was agreed upon, but then remembered det only has comp 3rd this yr so I bumped it to a 2 next yr.

With 2.16, The New Orleans Saints select

G/T Vadal Alexander, LSU (hope he hasn't been picked, having a hard time following the draft)

Has had perceived stock drop throughout process but we knew he was never agile enough to play tackle.  Will solidify a Guard spot for us.

2.48 (from Indianapolis) The New York Giants select Tyler Boyd, WR, Pitt

With Cruz, David Harris, and a bunch of arena league guys behind Beckham, WR is clearly a need. Boyd may not be a blazer but is ultra competitive, has Landry like hands and has the size to be the perfect complement to Beckham.

NFL.com:

COMPARISON

 Keenan Allen

BOTTOM LINE

Pittsburgh asked Boyd to be a running back and possession receiver this season, but that doesn't define what he can be in the pros. Boyd makes up for a lack of speed with vice grips for hands and being intelligent in his routes. Boyd isn't a standalone WR1, but he can be a very productive starter in a play-action attack that allows him to play to his strengths.

1.18 Shaq Lawson, DE

2.40 Cody Whitehair, OG

2.48 (from Indy) Tyler Boyd, WR, Pitt

Great pick. Perfect fit for the Giants.

I think Boyd is gonna be better than most people realize.  He's not fast, but he has great hands and makes contested catches.

They would be lucky to get a 4th. Old players aren't traded for high picks.

Anyway, looks like you all had fun in here last night. Can someone sum up the picks selected/traded so I can put it in the first post?

Giants:  Cody Whitehair

Bears:  Kendall Fuller

You just drafted what will end up being one of the top two WRs in this draft. Golf clap.

I don't see Elway taking a game manager QB like Cook at the end of the 1st. I'm not sure Cook is even the type of QB the Denver FO is looking for, but at 31 it seems like a really bad reach considering the talent at needs positions (dl, ol) still sitting there.

Elway hasn't typically been one to reach for needs in the 1st either having taken Roby when he already had Harri + Talib and Ray when he already had Von + Ware. it seems like the type of panic move the Denver FO is not currently known for.

A lot of what you say is true, but that all goes out the window when you look at your QB depth chart and the name at the top is Sanchez.

Cook is exactly the kind of guy that Kubiak looks for to run his system.

Plus, Cook was one of the 30 players they've chosen to visit.

And the talent pool at DT is about 100 feet deeper than the QB pool this year.
