Sharknado3-Oh Hell No! debuts Wed.July 22nd/9pm (1 Viewer)

And then, coming up on Saturday at 9 on SyFy:

LavalantulaA washed-up action star from the 1990s tries to be a hero in real life, fighting off a monstrous swarm of giant lava-breathing tarantulas that have erupted out of ancient volcanoes in the Santa Monica Mountains and are leaving a fiery path of death and destruction across Los Angeles.

It may have already been covered, but I'll ask for my own sake...Do you have to watch Sharknado 1 & 2 in order to fully grasp the plot for #3? I have yet to watch this stunning franchise series and I'm concerned I may get lost simply jumping into #3 without fully entrenching myself to the earlier cinematic masterpieces that this franchise was built upon. TIA

You will be completely lost if you don't watch the first two, and really you need multiple (8-10) viewings of each of the first masterpieces to even begin to fully comprehend this rich and nuanced story. I also recommend reading the novels, which draw you in with a delightful peppering of scratch and sniff and popups. It's this generations War & Peace.

The shark on the rollercoaster had me laughing so hard.

Delivered exactly what I expected and loved every second of it.

My favorite was just after the NASCARS got stolen, and the lady runs out screaming "I'm going to lose my job" just before being sharked... my 8 year old's comment was priceless: "Well, you did now" :lmao:

That was a good one as well

I also loved the Today Show crew getting eaten,Matt Lauer in particular.

I was left wondering why the Hoff didn't just catch a shark and ride through the atmosphere as well, though I am sure through some careful and deliberate crafting of the intricate story we have, we can see him reappear in a future iteration of this lovely American tradition. :hifive:

That's awesome. My family has been to the Universal Studios Florida parks and resorts a few times. My 12-year-old was killing it pointing out continuity errors between the movie's version of Universal and the real Universal, following up each with comments like"other than that, this is totally realistic" or "that lack of realism bothers me more than a shark swinging back and forth on a rollercoaster".

The Sharknado trilogy: fun for the whole family.

Also loved that the Sharknado-battling RV had both the license plate from the shark autopsy from Jaws (Louisiana 007 981) and the license plate from Steve Sanders's Corvette on 90210 (California I8A 4RE).

Possibly as a warm up this Sunday, the immortal Sharktopus trilogy - Sharktopus, Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda and Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf.
