I am thrilled that there will be a season three but I have no idea how they will plausibly write themselves out of the end of season 2. I fear it will be a seriousJust announced it will air in the US on Jan. 19th. The UK broadcast date has not been announced yet, but it will be before that. But I think, whatever day it airs in England, it will be the shortest wait for US audiences.

Holmes - Watsonnot Wilson
not Watkins
it's Watson
and Watson was knocked nearly unconscious by the guy on the bicycle, and thus had a fuzzy head when he saw the cadaver.

They're working within canon. Sherlock has to fall "to his death" and somewhat implausibly make it out alive when it seems he should be dead. That's the Sherlock story. The interesting part will be how craftily the writers accomplish it.The problem is that its obvious Sherlock didn't die. Doesn't matter how. So the shock factor is lost. These plot twists are more interesting when you don't know they are coming.

Coincidence?
Sherlock is not on BBC-America. US rights are with PBS. It'll be on in late January over 3 weeks into February.will this be avail on BBC in the US on 1-1-14?
do they show all three episodes back-to-back?
I saw the first two "seasons" after the fact on netflix.
It's the accent. It's always the accent. Finally got around to watching the season 2 finale. Great episode. Obviously baffled by the ending but we'll see what season 3 brings.
Saw Cumberbatch on Kimmel the other day and the women were going insane for him.
Even my wife was saying WTF?
He's hot?

Not sure its a problem - they show him at the end of the episode, so whatever shock value was there, was gone by the end of the episode. The problem is that its obvious Sherlock didn't die. Agreed - I give them credit for showing him at the end of the episode - cuz it's obvious they wouldn;t kill himNot sure its a problem - they show him at the end of the episode, so whatever shock value was there, was gone by the end of the episode. The problem is that its obvious Sherlock didn't die. Though I suppose what they showed could have been Moriarty in a Sherlock mask
They changed the last name of the villain to make him Danish (or so I think I heard in this interview)First episode is out. A bit sillier than previous episodes in parts, but loved it. So happy it's back. Brilliant job by Cumberbatch portraying Sherlock. Really nails the spirit of the character.
Wtf is the new villain? Can't place a name from the books. A bit sad Moriarty is gone but great start to season 3.
Title is Masterpiece Mystery (10:00 PM PST but check local/regional times), than I saw Sherlock, Season 3: The Empty Hearse, (2014) in the description/plot synopsis field. I initially set series record, but it also set to record a few episodes immediately prior called Masterpiece Classic (Downtown Abbey?), so I went back and cancelled series record, and just manually pre-recorded the 19th episode. My DVR scheduler doesn't go to the 26th yet, so sometime on the 19th or as we get closer, I'll try and add episodes 2 & 3 when they show up (episode 3 first week in February). My dvr is not seeing it. Is it a certain pbs channel? I just have the local here in Philly WHYY which is designated for PBS. Doesnt show sherlock on the 19th though.

Agreed—the second episode is as close to a straight-up comedy as they've ever come close to attempting, and they pulled it off nicely.First two episodes of this season are both excellent. They seem to be having more fun with the show this year.
Yeah, good point, each episode is close to a theatrical quality and length movie, so no way to slap out 24 or even 12 of these in a season.Insein said:Each episode is like a mini movie. Most shows only have 40 mins of actual run time. This has 90. I was confused by the 3 episode seasons at first but it is actually refreshing with this style.
