What reason could there be for him not to be?

Exactly. That's enough of a reason right there. How much confidence can that team have in Cutler going forward to play their hearts out for him?At least he has guts. What reason could there be for him not to be?Except for that INT

Puh-lease. Caleb didn't quit on his team. This isn't because Caleb has shown himself to be better than Cutler. But Cutler showed himself to not be a leader.Zdravko said:Puh-lease. Cutler is still >> Caleb. Cutler’s theme all season has been “Protect the football, don’t be a crazy gunslinger.” That's what he did today again. Hanie goes out there, plays full risk, throws a bunch of boneheaded low percentage throws. Some work out, others are picked. Cutler can do that for you any time you want. That's hardly the way to win a conference final game. Not saying Cutler is elite at all. Just that Caleb has by no means shown himself to be better. The real question, though, is wth was Todd Collins doing on this team all season?!
Exactly. Cutler had total control of the offense and in comes Hanie messes everything up.Zdravko said:Puh-lease. Cutler is still >> Caleb. nfl players watching a playoff game on network tv are clearly more able to assess the physical risk and effectiveness of a particular player than trained doctors for a 100sm+ organization who have tactile access to the situation. Is it so terrible that numerous NFL players, current and past, are asking the same question as this thread? Nice sarcasm. Does it have any point to it? Like I said, with the plays Hanie received and taking the chances Hanie was taking, Cutler would have done just as well, if not better. Regardless: neither of the two is too good. But the thread is about Cutler vs Hanie in 2011. And the point here is that Cutler still gives the Bears a better chance to win on a weekly basis. As for quitting on his team - I am hardly a big Cutler fan, but I will withhold judgment for now. Anybody who voices an opinion without knowing the alleged injury is either biased, or IQ-challenged. Urlacher already came out strong to defend Cutler, so let's hear the details.Exactly. Cutler had total control of the offense and in comes Hanie messes everything up.Zdravko said:Puh-lease. Yes, it's terrible. Those comments are terrible, too, and those players should be ashamed of themselves. Cutler obviously does not work hard to endear himself to the media, and the media loves to run with any possible drama angle they can. And clearly, the media has a very strong influence on the people of our society - witness this thread and countless other examples of people in our society refusing to think for themselves. If Cutler wasn't a leader or soft in any way, why don't his teammates say anything like this? Why did the Bears players and coaches defend Cutler angrily in the post-game conferences today? Why did they refer to him as "tough as hell" and a guy who "busts his ###" and "never #####es"? Those are actual quotes, by the way. He's been hit more and sacked more than any QB in the league over the past two years and he's never complained once. Through all of those hits, he's left the game exactly twice - once after a concussion that left him walking to the wrong sideline and now this knee injury. Maybe he was actually hurt? He could barely move on the stationary bike. Could it be that he had no mobility, and with that terrible OL against that pass rush, the Bears knew he was going to be a sitting duck? Did you notice that Hanie was only able to do anything against the Packers because he's mobile and could move outside of the pocket? FYI, its been reported that the Bears believe he has a torn MCL. MRI tomorrow. Terrible thread. Is it so terrible that numerous NFL players, current and past, are asking the same question as this thread? Yeah, because every ACL injury is the same. Some of you people are ridiculous. Are you a doctor? Explain to me how they are different.I am not being ridiculous. I have defended this guy since day 1, but I am done. The Broncos made the right decision trading this guy. This came up in the other thread, and it's just another example of people warping facts to fit their opinions. The actual scenario:Rivers was injured against the Colts in the AFC Divisional Round and left the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter with the game very much on the line. He did not return to the game, much like Cutler did not return to the game. Rivers played the next game, after having arthroscopic surgery. So, no, he did not really play anything with a torn ACL. They actually cleaned up the knee and, I believe, removed the ACL all together because that would be better short term than leaving it in. But the point remains: Rivers left the game and did not return when he was initially injured, in the playoffs, with the game on the line - just like Cutler did tonight. What is Urlacher supposed to say? Of course they won't. It's far easier to pretend they know exactly what happened to Cutler's knee and talk about how tough guys in the 1960's were. That and playing the rest of the softball game and dancing the next day. This came up in the other thread, and it's just another example of people warping facts to fit their opinions. Are you going to call Rivers a quitter now, too?
No, its a terrible question...and the vote tally says so.A third string QB who had a chance to shine, and instead gave 2 picks to the other team....Is it so terrible that numerous NFL players, current and past, are asking the same question as this thread? You couldn't know less about football. In one of the most important games in franchise history, that kid came in with no experience or reps in practice and led them to two scores against one of the best defenses in the NFL in the 4th quarter. The offense couldn't even manage to score a single point up until then. Sure, he wasn't good enough to lead them to a 4th quarter comeback, but who would be in that position? He did a hell of a job in trying to and wasn't that far away either. No, its a terrible question...and the vote tally says so.A third string QB who had a chance to shine, and instead gave 2 picks to the other team....Is it so terrible that numerous NFL players, current and past, are asking the same question as this thread? Dude. No offense, but how on earth would you know that Lovie is feeding Urlacher lines? If there is a player on the Bears who would voice his own opinion, that's Urlacher. Much more likely he believes what he is saying than that he is forced to lie.Rivers LEFT the Colts game and did not come back. Rivers had stabilizing surgery on his ACL before the next game. He then played against the Patriots. The Chargers recorded 12 total points. Rivers stat line: 211 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT. Highly debatable that his heroism helped the Chargers. Anyway, very little in common with Cutler's case. What is Urlacher supposed to say? He says exactly what Lovie has told him to say for years. What knee injury are you going to be ok with? Pretty defensive stance to a simple question, isnt it? Let me try asking a different way. Do you Flapgreen believe that Hanies numbers were better because he was playing against the Packers prevent defense?Do you find it to be a coincidence in the two drives Hanie and the Bears were down by 14 they scored TD's, and in the two drives they were down by 7 resulted in Int's?It might not have anything to do with it, but i would bet that Hanies results would have been similar to Cutlers had he played when Cutler did.Now it's because the Packers played poor defense. I've heard it all.![]()
I'm not defending him, dip####. And no, throwing 2 touchdowns against a great defense in 4th quarter in the NFC championship game is not what I expect from a 2nd or 3rd string QB in the NFL. I said he did a hell of a job considering the position he was put in. Wake up! Where did the hell did I say should be starting over Cutler? Because the coaching staff was too dumb to figure out putting a player in that had been with the team 3 years was better than putting in a washed up never was in the game who hadn't even been with the team for one season. Nuts.my only question is why todd collins comes into a game ahead of hanie.
