Listening to John Clayton this morning talk about the woeful situation the Jets running game will be in if Curtis Martin's health keeps him out of action this year, and then reading about the Jets management ignoring his pleas for them to draft his predecessor, I can't help but wonder... would it be good for the organization as a whole to use this as a "take one step back and two steps forward" situation and position themselves to draft Sooner phenom Adrian Peterson next year?
Let's face it... the Jets are probably going to stink anyway. Poor Eric Mangini has some talent on his squad but not enough to make a serious playoff run this season without some "out of nowhere" performances this season.
So, what would it hurt? Bomb the season and take the next Earl Campbell. It's the right thing to do.
