shuke> what was for lunch today?
 Hair of the dog??
That and about 12 fried apple pies.
Do they still make those?
Last I heard, they were in Japan.. though I think some regional place in the U.S. might have them as well.
Just heard from one of my sources that Rally's may indeed have the old McDonald's style pies.
Was that stomach #1 or stomach #2 that told you this?

CONFIRMED!A few minor differences.

On the down side, the outer shell didn't seem as "crispy", I think because maybe they don't fry these for as long as McDonald's use to, probably to prevent the filling from giving 3rd degree burns on the first bite.

On the plus side, these babies are coated in cinnamon.

I just had McDonald's hot apple pies a month or so ago. They're still here.

They stopped making fried pies eons ago. They've been baked since then. The older style crispy fried version cannot be matched.

No Rally's or Checker's by you?
No.
Actually there are quite a few Checkers in the DC area. Most are either in DC or in Maryland. There are a couple in NOVA.LINK
He doesn't live there anymore.Pickles, I found some Checkers about 200 miles from you.
