I'm drafting over there right now, no problems....The crisp feel in the air, the turning of the leaves, the excitement of the football season. . . and the complete and total meltdown of the Fanball Commissioner website. All of these are reliable indicators that fall is near.Anybody able to log in over there?
Must be just a portion of their servers that have crashed. Here's the message I get when I try to access my league's website:"SYSTEM MAINTENANCEDue to regular maintenance, the system is currently unavailable for use. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back in a few minutes."Yeah, you do regular system maintenance at 7:00 p.m. C.D.T. Bigal:This has been the complaint of uses at Fanball for as long as I have been over there (3 years). Would you be willing to offer any assurance at all that this same thing *will not* happen in Week 1, or can we be pretty much assured that it will?Sorry Pine and others, We are having a total site outage right now and are working on solving the issue. We should have it back up shortly.

:( Hopefully it will be up soon. Our draft was supposed to start at 8pm EST. Good luck and God speed.Frankly, I'm shocked that we had it happen now. I can't really give the reasons for the outage, but they were directly related to us upgrading to a better data center so that we wouldn't have any outages like this. Heads are rolling.
Yes, I'm shocked as well. This has only happened to you guys, like, every single year since you rolled out a live draft. Can't wait to see all your improvements to the live scoring module.Frankly, I'm shocked that we had it happen now. I spoke too soon. I had been logged in all day. Our draft is occuring on the Fanball league message board. Just for grins I logged out and tried to log back in. Stoopid mistake...Must be just a portion of their servers that have crashed. Thanks, I am incheck it now, Fanball should be back up.
I use a real service called mfl.com. Don't have these issues.
Works well for my league. Thanks Al.Well, both REAL services of Fanball and AOL are back up. Sorry for the outage.
aren't they under new ownership?Week 1 is never solid week 1 on any site....I have used Fanball, among other services like MFL, and after week 1 everything is fine. People will always get on their high horse and piss about something, no matter what the business is. I am not absolving Fanball....you would think purchasing a couple extra servers, even if temporarily, would do the job. But people who piss and moan about live scoring, which isnt even official, baffle me. There is a reason Fanball has a customer base. Its the price. I would rather save $30 on the league I run, rather than pay $90 or even $140 for Sportsline. Now, if their prices come down, I will go with them. I love both services but wont pay those prices as a commish.....as a team owner, SURE. I am in 4 leagues on MFL right now.
They sold out before to a British company last year. They were already sliding into obscurity then and put out the worst product one could have fantasized (imagine every nightmare short of losing data, and Fanball experienced it). They've put on a pretty aggressive marketing push this year, featuring "Charch." But, that doesn't take away from the fact that they still have tech folks who have no idea what they're doing and a customer service department and support group that offers nothing in the way of service or support.aren't they under new ownership?Week 1 is never solid week 1 on any site....I have used Fanball, among other services like MFL, and after week 1 everything is fine. If only if it was just Week 1 last year, I'd have no problem. It's just gotten progressively worse IMO.I have no problem paying $115 for Sportsline. That's not true. After the first week there were little to no problems for the remainder of the year. If you want to go to CBS feel free, but there is no need to make things up to justify it.If only if it was just Week 1 last year, I'd have no problem. I had problems for most of the year last year, inlcluding a couple occasions where owners could not log into fanball to change their lineups shortly before kickoff. Owners were frantically calling me to tell me who they wanted in their lineup. That happened at least twice, once was during the middle of the season. I've been with Fanball for 4 years, but after last year I vowed to check out other sites because I was tired of Fanball's server problems that seem to happen every single year. The other thing that bothered me was the slow rollout of new features. On their support forums they have an "Enhancement Ideas" forum, but for the thousands of suggestions they get they only seem to roll out about 4 new enhancements a year, and most of them are minor ones. They are only adding preseason claims this year! This, after two years of promising that it would be available for the last two seasons. How about fixing the bug that allows you to sumbit an illegal roster if you use flex IDP's? They were made aware of it the day they rolled out IDP's three years ago, and as of the end of last season it still hadn't been fixed. That's not true. After the first week there were little to no problems for the remainder of the year. If you want to go to CBS feel free, but there is no need to make things up to justify it.
I've been on this site since the beginning and have been with mfl.com longer...it simply amazes me that after so many threads I've seen over the years such as this that people still go with services other than mfl.com. It really has no equal.good luck to those that choose otherwise....bonscott said:I use a real service called mfl.com. Don't have these issues.![]()
"Exit42 days"? I thought it was renamed Real Leagues this year?I have not had a draft on fanball since the Exit42 days - had a 17 round draft on Monday - no problems.
Ironic, I guess, that the one you pay for isn't stable, and you have to use the free one instead.AOL is free and uses the same software as Fanball. Our draft went flawlessly - the draft room was extremely fast and easy to navigate. I guess AOL had a few extra servers lying around to ensure they could handle the added traffic.![]()
Used fanball for 4 years now. Never had a problem.
Yep same with me. Your going to get a couple times where stat tracker is behind on a couple game for a half hour but then it catches up. All and all I am very satisfied with it.Used fanball for 4 years now. Never had a problem. Two leagues, four years now. Never had a problem before the season. there are occasional slow downs during Sunday a couple of years ago, but no issues last year..
