Silicon Valley - New Mike Judge 8-Part HBO Series (1 Viewer)

BTW, I only watched the coming attractions once and briefly, but it looks like BigHead is running the incubator that Ehrilch goes to visit in the next episode, right?
Can anyone else confirm this? It has to be Bigetti, right?

Edit: I bet a Bigetti incubator spinoff could be awesome!

I was happy we got 4 minutes of optimism before they tripped us with the cord this time.

Still love all the comedy but the show would have a much longer shelf life if they didn't keep it so plot focused.

That scene with Hendricks falling down is the exact same type of writing that gave us the Bachman testimony from last season (when he was on the stand and revealed the computer = girlfriend)... Identical! Not a fan of that kind of writing.

IDK, feels like we'll get one more season after this one to wrap it up, but the show feels like it has kinda peaked. It is still at a high level even on what might be the decline, but I think it possible we have seen the best from this one.
Show is still really hilarious, but core plot is not as good.  Most of that is because this new CEO dude is not really funny

Got a chuckle out of scene where they fast forward the overnight session on Skunkworks and showed Ehrlich spending the whole time on his bong.
On multiple bongs.

Also Jiag Yang stealing the pizza :lmao:

The whole sorry I can't write substandard code like Dinesh, followed by not caring about the box to wanting something cool was well done.

The Rasputin mind scramble that the Indian guru put on Gavin was pretty funny. "Clearly, we have come far. But we still have far to go. Not as far as Lot D, but..."

Also, did anyone else notice for the first time last night that Laurie from Raviga is actually kinda hot? That final scene, I found myself hoping she'd pop open a couple of buttons on that white shirt. Her character is a pale shadow of Peter Gregory, but I find myself liking her more, now.

Right now, for me...the three funniest things on television are, "Silicon Valley", "Rick & Morty" and "The Detour".

Every episode has been gold for me.

That whole interview scene seemed beyond ridiculous and forced.  For the first time I found myself yelling at the TV going, "C'mon!".

And DEVELOPERS, of all people, don't make backups of their hard drives?

Bighead is gonna have to pay back the money, no?

He just broke his severance agreement.
That's what I was thinking. They made a point of stressing the confidentiality agreement.

Probably going to drag Bachmann down too since Bighead already spent a bunch of money and just signed the partnership agreement.

It's a comedy but how many times can you put the most precious item up for grabs?  You do it every episode then you start rooting against the crew.

Like Veep, this show has gone from smart, funny comedy to becoming almost purely a farce comedy with lazy writing. This is a classic HBO pattern. Should have been a 2 season show, but if history is a guide, HBO will drag at least one more out of it.

I hear what you are saying and while I still love the show, that does cross my mind. It's still so damn funny sometimes that it is OK.

Never thought about that until now. I don't remember exactly what the confidentiality agreement was, but they wouldn't have just put that in the show for fun. I think you guys are on to something.

I kinda agree with him, said it a few episodes ago. I think they can squeeze one more funny season out, but the writing to me has felt a little lazy. I think the official peak was when Bachman testified in the season finale last year. That was the first scene when I thought they might be running a little low on juice.

Again, still love it, one of my faves, but on a slight decline.

Was coming in to post this as well.  They'll all wind up in Jared's condo.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me in the least.  With a few exceptions, the developers I work with in my company are completely ignorant of everything outside of their chosen application.

Then I must be the only developer EVER to backup his local machine.  I guess that makes me special?

So she either froze time at that instant and got married OR you are the dog face.

which do you think it is? I gotta sayI'm on the fence

I liked the subtle "c'mon" when the facebook girl holds the computer up and deliberately hits the spacebar.

Followed by the fall where he tried to take 8 steps at a time to prove his point. Can't remember exactly what he said, but something about it not working. Great episode.

They didn't sell his machine. They sold his external hard drive. And since Gilfoyle destroyed it rather than swapping it for a new one, I would say that was Dinesh's backup. They were more concerned with the company code getting out than losing Dinesh's data.

I'm not so sure it was Dinesh's backup. Gilfoyle loves to screw with him, so he might have destroyed the hard drive as a big Eff you to Dinesh. Dinesh seemed pretty hopeful that Gilfoyle had swapped hard drives when they met outside the house.
