Sitting Outside in Northern Wisconsin - Ask Me Anything (1 Viewer)

my pop before he died spent a lot of time fixing up the train in the museum downtown in rhinelander so there is a little swc hookup for you take that to the bank brochachos

How ado you still have blood left in your veins? I been getting killed by mosquitoes at football practices
I’m far enough north that they start to wane by now. We haven’t had a ton of rain so they have really dropped out the last month or so.

Do you guys eat Cudighi and or Pasties anywhere in Wisconsin? If not what's your problem?
pasties for sure around here. never had cudighi before.

I’m not sure where to seek those out around here.
Pasties are ok, but Cudighi comes straight from heaven. I only have it a few times a year since anything that good runs the risk of blocking all your arteries in real time.

I guess to find Cudighi you'd have to head to Iron Mountain, though the best in the world (easy if nobody else eats it i suppose  ) would be in the little towns outside of Marquette. Bonus points if you know little old Italian grandmas with century old recipes. I was always surprised nobody ever put a shop in Green Bay or the Fox cities. If someone ever does give it a try and you probably won't be disappointed.

Seems the proper place for this. Those of us even a little more north of Northern Wisconsin are looking at our first measurable snow this weekend. Sunday into Monday we're expected to get 7 inches of lake effect snow. That big lake they call Gitche Goomee is looking angry this year and it feels like it's gonna be a rough winter.

Yeah, saw that.

We might get a dusting here. I don't know if you pay attention to the northern lights but they were AWESOME last night. Supposed to be a better show tonight other than we have clouds here.

I've been out at my hunting property and it's one of the few places i have access to with zero light pollution. This time of year is a great time to see them. Sounds like clouds and rain tonight, but when they're out they really are an awesome sight.

Yeah, that's awesome.

The piece of property we ended up with is set up perfectly for them. Our house is on a hill, and the northern edge of the property is wide open as the property next to me starts to slope into a valley. There are trees there, but we can see pretty much everything. And if I want a better view, my neighbor across the street has a hilltop that's even better - maybe a 700 yard walk away.

Can't beat it. Get the VIP view of the 4 seasons and the bonus star gazing. We're lucky up here. Places like these are getting harder to come by.

18" now and going up every time I look

Eta I'm out of town on a vacation and my wife is left to deal with the bulk of it today. Rational or not I'm going to pay some kind of price for this.
