That is the first very perfect slice of comedy i've seen from SNL in a longlonglonglong time

I had the same thought. When Larry David came out as Bernie Sanders for the first time it was during the show opening. It set the tone for the rest of the show.SNL still managed to screw up its best sketch in years by playing it so late. Should have been the pre-credit sketch, which I guess even they realized yet didn't change.
Actually it was perfect for me. I usually watch the first 20-30 mins and get bored by then and change the channel. I was like "1 more skit" and then it was the Spicer one. Watched the rest of the show it was so good.SNL still managed to screw up its best sketch in years by playing it so late. I was crying during that one I was laughing so hard. Great bit, and great work by McCarthy. The Spicer bit might end up being one of their more iconic ones.
All of Weekend Update was great.the Big Papi Little Scissors bit got me to laugh
Instant classic. One of the best everThe Spicer bit might end up being one of their more iconic ones.
So much hilarity but I lost it with "moose-lambs"Instant classic. One of the best everThe Spicer bit might end up being one of their more iconic ones.
50M? I see 11M on YouTube, which is still double what the Cold Open has on YT.That sketch has like 50 million views as of this writing. What time a sketch airs doesn't matter anymore gang. It's 2017.
I think Stewart was truly awful in every live sketch. But I think I grossly underrated how good looking she is. Jeez...Totinos.TLEF316 said:Kristen Stewart looked pretty freaking incredible in that family feud sketch
She should have held up 2 lambs to make it grammatically correct. So much hilarity but I lost it with "moose-lambs"

I'll add wtf is musical guest Father John Misty?DallasDMac said:Seriously? I thought that hour and a half was painful. The TBD sketch was good but that was about it. WTF was with the chocolate cart guy? The women's night out? Painful.
This presumably explains the December absence and possibly lack of development (though it necessarily contradicting the above)On Davidson... I doubt he's back next season. Great stand up comedian, outstanding WU contributor, but he hasn't improved as an actor so he's too limited in sketches.
Scarlett is doing heavy-lifting tonight. She has been front and center in every single sketch.

Still catching up, but it's great so far. Scarlett just nailed Ivsnka. Some solid political statements as wellEnjoyed the episode.
I think they've had a pretty strong season so far but that skit goes in the pantheon of flaming piles of crap. I #### you not, this thread could write a better skit before the next show. How on Earth did that Chocolate Cart guy get the greenlight?
I really hope he breaks up in the middle of a skit. That never gets old.Chocolate Cart was 12:50 sketch. They experiment there and have hits and misses.
Remaining hosts for the season were announced. After Louie CK on April 8, it's Jimmy Fallon (April 15th), Chris Pine (May 6th), Melissa McCarthy (May 13th), and Dwayne Johnson for the finale on May 20th
The May episodes, and possibly the April ones, will air live across the country, something SNL hasn't done before. NBC's Saturday prime time lineup is nothing and interest in SNL is relatively high right now, so may as well try it.Chocolate Cart was 12:50 sketch. They experiment there and have hits and misses.

They really frontloaded the season, especially before Christmas, presumably to really hit the election hard.Whats up with all the repeats lately? There's so Much material available.
It’s official: NBC has picked up a primetime version of Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update, which will have a four-week run during the show’s summer hiatus beginning Thursday, August 10 at 9 PM.
"The face of a man who pet a bunny so much that it died." In reference to Ronaldo statue.
Strong run on Kushner during WU, too."Yahoo! and AOL will combine because no one wants to die alone."
Clown skit contender for best of season.

I'm not a Louie CK superfan or anything, but OMG that was amazing.
