Snowmageddon 2022 (1 Viewer)

It's fairly amazing how last night at 11pm the forecast was for 18" in NYC and now they are saying 3-6". If we could all have success rates like meteorologists at our jobs.
I've missed all the forecasts... but we already had 3-6 here in the EVil overnight, and now it's starting to dump. but again, no idea of the forecast- could be that it's just going to end? per yesterday's reports I thought it was supposed to be heaviest from now until this afternoon... I guess that changed?

6" in front of my house in Brooklyn which is about what was predicted by this time. The heavy stuff is supposed to come down over the next few hours. We'll see.

Blizzard warning already lifted in nyc

Roughly four inches here in Central NJ near 8A.  Been sleeting like crazy for quite awhile.  Made the move to snow blow now rather than dealing with the bulk in the 40 MPH winds later, but still could only do that now effectively in one direction - good luck with that later.  Sleet has picked up in past hour.

Apparently they sent a bunch of Buffalo's plows and winter weather tools downstate to help with the blizzard, yet we're in the market for 10-20 inches ourselves in the next 36-ish hours.  Neat.

You guys can suck it. I had to set my alarm and get up at 4:30am to clear my driveway the first time. I did it again at 8:00am. Both times, it was at the max my snow blower can handle. Got about 12" so far, another 6" or so on the way here in Central PA.

Your blower sucks more than blows.  Get it.

I think I'm a little further inland than you other CNJ guys (Flemington) - Was sleet for most of the early AM, turned to beautiful big flakes for about an hour around 7:00 AM, then back to huge sleet.  It just let up about 10 minutes ago and now looks like a really light, wet snow.  I loved the flakes - this other stuff is depressing.

Almost made the 18mi trek to my Hillsborough office but figured the commute would be worse than doing the 50 mile hike to my Cinnaminson office that got lot less from this storm.

I feel cheated cause we aren't getting the bananrammma storm predicted but it looks like this ice rain is worse than an extra 9" of snow.

My office in Parsippany, and my wife's office(s) all announced closures yesterday before a single flake fell.

I just went out to mark off my driveway edges so my neighbor could plow it - even though it's mostly sleet, it's the texture of really dry snow because it's too cold for the granules to start sticking together.  I was surprised how fluffy it was given it is ice.

Totally agree re. feeling cheated - I wanted at least a foot or more.  I feel like you have to have one of those each winter to feel complete.  Plus my 2.5 year-old has just wanted to make a snow man all winter.

We're right near the line that obviously shifted overnight. Not like they called for sun and heat.
They're always wrong. The weather nerds on weather forums are better at predicting this stuff than the meteorologists. I enjoy reading what they write.

I predicted 6.4 inches on about a dozen drinks and information I picked up on weather forums last night. They (meteorologists) called for possibly a foot and a half with all the technology in the world available. They either suck or are just trying to boost ratings, I lean towards the latter, but prob a combo of both.

Weather forums are my main source for storms moving forward.

Still coming here in Broome County, NY.  Talking up to 30" now.  Cuomo mobilizing National Guard from Long Island to the area.

This is awesome!

Central Jersey as well (Bedminster). Not that much snow accumulation but the sleeting is crazy.  (or at least it was up until 1/2 an hour ago) Morristown office was closed. "Working from home" at the moment.   Hopefully I'll be able to get outside and clean the car at some point this afternoon to make tomorrow morning easier.

This really does suck - my son was so pumped for snow and it's just been pouring ice here since 6am.

My buddy is in Montclair, says he has 10 inches already. Just 15 miles west :kicksrock:

Ratings boost for sure.

where you at in central pa?

90 miles north of NYC.  Projected 12-18"....its been upgraded to 20-30" with potential of 3 feet in places.

Probably have about 20" and it is whiteout conditions out there.
