Snowmageddon 2022 (1 Viewer)

Not fishing at all. I just find the "cheering for snow doesn't actually make it snow" excuse laughable. Enjoy the snow all you want...you're admitting it, that's great. You're not hiding behind a bunch of BS.
What are you talking about? Admitting that we like snow? I think most people will admit that. What is laughable is that you are mad at people who do not affect an outcome. Go hang out in the other thread I created for you. You can wish no snow all you want there. Just remember, when you wish for no snow, that means drought conditions. And that means farmers lose out and go bankrupt. I hope you can live with that.
You hope for 8 inches of snow which gets you a day home from work, your kids off from school, and a nice family day making snowmen and drinking hot chocolate around the fire? Congrats, you're a normal person.

You hope for 3 feet of snow and are disappointed when it doesn't come, you're an #######, sorry.

If you can't comprehend that I'm not sure what else to tell you.
also, New Jersey says #### off.

you are very welcome.

:lmao:

Holy smokes, this is funny. I had no idea my wishes were that powerful. I have a birthday coming up in a couple weeks. When I blow out the candles, I'm going to wish that your house floods and there's a lot of property damage. Now, THAT, my friend, is what makes me an #######!

all we need now is for politics to somehow get tied to snowstorms..

you love snow? you must be a heartless conservative

you hate snow? buy a coat you stinking hippie liberal

Went to the grocery store at 10:00am this morning, like I often do on a Thursday. Usually I have the place to myself. Today there were 3 carts available when I got there. Every old person in a 25 mile radius was stocking up. Brutal. After that, I went to the beer distributor. Guy working the counter looked scared. He said they were expecting to get absolutely bombarded by the after-work crowd today. Picked up a case of Blizzard of Hops, seemed appropriate.

You should probably just stick with the bolded part.

Really?!? Are you trying to mock the situation?! Blizzard of Hops!? I mean, do you realize that a big storm is coming and someone might get offended that you drinking such beverages could lead to larger accumulations?!

Yeah, we went last night. Just a normal shopping trip. The store looked like a third world country super market. There was like 7 loaves of bread in the entire bread aisle. Snow definitely brings out the sandwich lover in a lot of people.

Saw a great line from a CNN article yesterday about people going to the store when it snows and stocking up on milk, bread, and toilet paper. "Do people plan on spending alot of time making french toast and sitting on the toilet" lol

I'll pick up some Snow Melt Winter Ale. Someone around here has to act responsibly....

Thank you, the balance of things is back in order.

Not sure if you were there but that describes the Downingtown Wegman's perfectly.

Royersford Giant.

Someone posted this image over on the AccuWeather boards. This was less than 48 hours out before the Bo96.

Puts things in perspective. No sane meteorologist wants to be the guy that forecasts a record amount of snow. You are predicting something that has never happened in human history.

Dave Tolleson in the not sane category? Guy thinks all of Virginia getting 8 feet

I remember that 96 blizzard started out as 4-8... Then went to 6-12... then 8-16 until they gave up and said 18+, good luck.

If any of you are First Energy customers, you can keep track of outages in your area by going HERE. They have state-specific maps for you to track outages and crews.

First Energy companies in the storm path are Potomac Edison (MD, eastern WV), Mon Power (western WV), Met-Ed (NE and eastern PA), Jersey Central Power and Light (southern 2/3 of NJ) and West Penn Power (southern PA - don't ask why).

One of my favorite quotes is from Justified: "If you run into an ####### in the morning, you ran into an #######. But if you run into #######s all day, you're the #######."

The responses here indicate that I'm clearly the #######, and I'm going to do the un-internet-like thing and admit that. Clearly my perspective was off and something there touched a nerve.

My apologies gents.

One of the great lines in the history of TV/movies.

I think you just got a little passionate about something that affected/may affect you personally. It happens.

Meanwhile, like I said before I think the winds and the timing are going to ruin most of the "fun" stuff that comes with snowstorms.

All Good.
