Both are getting a lot of targets - Hixon seems more the pure Plax play and has shown well when given the chance. Toomer came on big last week and seemed to be the red zone guy. Which one of these guys outperforms the remainder of the year now with Plax gone?

Their schedule isn't bad - PHI, DAL and CAR. Who does Eli start targeting more overall and who in the redzone? I have been given a bet opportunity and get to pick ...seems like a toss up to me, still debating on whether to bite.

I think the Giants will now emphasize ball control even more now, with a possession type of receiver like Toomer benefiting slightly more.

any chance either one or both will be getting benched anytime soon with a playoff spot locked up?

Why would you think that?1) After last year, do you really think Coughlin or the players want rest, or they want to compete? Hmmm...it won us a SB last year, should we change that formula this year?2) It's Hixon and Toomer, not Harrison and Wayne.

Any given week it could be Hixon, Toomer, Smith or maybe even Boss.

Good luck figuring out which one it's gonna be.

FWIW Hixon seems to have the most upside.

I would think that maybe WRs for a playoff bound team would get benched because they just lost one due to injury/stupidity.

granted it is not wayne and harrison, but it's all they've got. and it's not necessarily benching for a whole game i'm talking about, but possibly lost time

I think you don't have a very good grasp of how the Giants do things. They are not going to sit Hixon or Smith or Toomer or anybody who is healthy. They are not going to bench players because they are afraid they might get hurt.

I still don't understand why you think Coughlin would change the way he has done things for years. Please explain your logic (other than they're the #1 seed).

Anyway, none of the three WRs is going to have monster games, and they don't have a terrific set of matchups the next 3 weeks, so it's kind of moot.

The above I agree with totally, and it's part of what I'm trying to get at in terms of waivers being processed in less than 10 minutes.

As for Coughlin's changing his strategy, don't forget a "probable" Jacobs being benched at the last minute recently. That didn't make much sense either.

I'm talking about dropping A Gonz for Hixon/Toomer so it's a 4th receiver.....

Benching a dinged up Jacobs v. the Cards totally made sense with two healthy talented options to fill in for him.

What does that have to do with the WR situation? They're all healthy, and the talent level is nowhere near Earth, Wind & Fire.

Been debating Hixon all day...want to bench Edwards v. Tenn with no QB, can't trust Holt, it's either Bess or the skinny kid from Akron as my WR3. That's an annoying dlimena.

;)

Back to the original Q, although Toomer had the TD catches the last 2 weeks, I think Eli has gotten more comfortable with Domenik as the season has gone on. I really thought Smith or even Moss would step up their game more this year, but it's hard to trust either of them.

Manningham seems to have some talent,

with the knock of character issues.

Seems to not have shot himself.

Does he get an opportunity now?

Could he run with it?

Darkhorse.

I grabbed Toomer in a couple leagues. But on Mike and Mike, Schlereth was pretty convinced Hixon was the guy.

I don't think you will get a consensus on this one.

Since I once watched a 70-1 horse win the Belmont and ruin a Triple Crown chance, I'll go with 'Sure, anything is possible'.

I agree with the idea that Hixon has the most upside. Toomer's already gone in my leagues, but Hixon is available. I grabbed him as a WR 3/4 in one league because I see him putting up 280 yds, and 1-2 TDs in their final four games. That's as good or better than what I've been getting out of my WR 2 OR 3 (Coles, Holmes, Bradley), and I would think he'd be a decent #3 for many teams that are hurting or mediocre at WR.

Given those options, I'd go with the Zip....
