South Carolina elementary school shooting (1 Viewer)

Fox News reporting that the one teacher, two students shot but expected to survive. Teenage shooter captured. One man shot to death a mile and a half away, directly related.

Can't "like" your post, but can definitely sympathize...this so ####ed...I fear everytime my two youngest leave for school... WTF? ....
My daughter's class room this year is the first one after you enter the front door.  School shooting is the first thing I thought of.  That's where we are.

I know.  It saturates your mind, & it's ####### crazy it has come to this.  That's why I respect all teachers, even more so now...they have to not just worry about educating, but also protecting, ours & "their" children.  @Sconch...thank you for what you do... it's truly appreciated...

We need parents of these ####### monsters to start paying attention to them and get help before it comes to this.

Our kids school instituted a lot of security measures before this past school year. Fenced in the whole property, and all doors are locked once the first bell rings. You have to buzz in to even get into the front door (identified by camera), and then the foyer leads you to office first. The office has to unlock the next door that leads into the school.

Prayers to those families in SC.

The gate to my daughter's school is locked once the bell rings, any kids after that have to walk through the office to go around the gate.  After the late kids are all in the door to the office is locked and people have to get buzzed in.

Welcome to daytime prison. Enjoy your stay.

So the shooter was 14.  Killed his dad, drove a truck into the playground and shot two kids and a teacher before being taken down by an unarmed volunteer firefighter who responded to the call.  One kid (age 6) in critical condition after being shot in the league, the other kid and teacher treated and released.  This just makes me sick.

has there been explanation of why he shot the school up? 14? jfc.

mentioned in the NY and NYC explosion threads that my kids' school (near the explosion) went on a lock down last week after a report from NYPD about a suspicious package in the neighborhood. every kid pulled inside, doors locked- nobody in or out until the all clear is given... once inside, everything was a "normal" day.

how the hell do we live in a society where a 14 year old can get his hand on a gun so easily?!?   As the father of three kids, this is my biggest nightmare and one we as a society must answer for

Don't people have gun safes or smart guns??   To me, the right to bear arms comes with great responsibility, one of them is to keep them out of the hands of people who aren't stable another would be to keep it out of the hands of a child.. . People keep their booze locked up better than their guns

If your child kills someone with your gun then you should go to jail for murder.

I could be on board with this.   If a bunch of teenage kids get drunk in your house and one of them wraps himself into a telephone pole, you'd have some liability.  This should be at least as harsh
