Steelers win Super Bowl. (1 Viewer)

Considering Ben is hobbled, I just don't see how.

Well, unless he got very healthy very fast and the team decided to actually create some turnovers.

There's no team in the AFC the Steelers couldn't beat. Besides maybe the Patriots giving them a headache.

When it comes to the big game, only the Saints and Giants would pose a huge-huge threat.

This years Playoff teams are all Offensive flash and the Steelers find a way to get it done every year.

When's the last time the Steelers lost in a non-Super Bowl Playoff Game?

I was pretty confident the Steelers were going to win this week but now I am absolutely sure they're going to lose and this thread will be the hottest one in the shark pool Sunday night & Monday.

:(

That's an intersting statement, seeing as the Steelers have played 3/5 of the other AFC playoff teams, and were unable to beat 2 of those
 Cincy - Sweep

Ne - Win

Balt - Were Swept

Houston - L

Looks like "even steven" :P

I would think the Stillers' success over the years inevitably breeds this kind of confidence. I've never rooted for a team that wins all the time so I can't relate. What's it like to always feel like your team is gonna pull it out, no matter how bleak the situation (not implying their situation is particularly bleak)?

Wish I knew that feeling. Being an Eagles fan teaches you to expect the inevitable failure. Its always coming at some point.

It's incredibly awesome. But it's that much worse when they can't pull it off.But I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Yeah, not much confidence this year in the Steelers advancing far. Injuries have given them more of a whoopin than the Ravens did.

Playoffs in general, genius. No one has had more success than them recently.http://steelergridiron.com/history/playoffhistory.html

Since 2004 (Roethlisberger took over) how many times have they NOT made the Playoffs?

Two times.

What is their record once IN the Playoffs during that time?

10 - 3

What games did they lose?

2004 - AFC Championship - New England (41) Pittsburgh (27)

2007 - AFC Wildcard - Jacksonville (31) Pittsburgh (29)

2011 - Super Bowl XLV - Green Bay (31) Pittsburgh (25)

Sans the Jacksonville game where they lost by a meager two-points, their only other two losses under Roethlisberger during the playoffs were against teams that went on to win it all. One in the Super Bowl against the Packers last year and one against the Patriots in the AFC Championship.

Yes, I'd call a 10 - 3 record with two of those losses coming against eventually SB Champions getting it done. Oh, two of ten those wins were Super Bowls by the way.

He was smart enough to post this when he had a couple of games before that should happen.

and posibly the Packers...who beat them last year in the SB with half their team hurt. And possibly the ravens who swept them this year.

And possibly the Patriots at home that absolutely shredded them last year when they wer healthy.

And possibly...you get it.

What about the team that beat them last year? They are 15-1, scored 560 points, but don't pose a huge threat in the manner the Saints or Giants do? What gives you any indication the Steelers defense would play better than their last matchup where GB's WR's dropped balls in spades and still scored 31 points? Ben is playing injured, Mendenhall is out, Moore is out/will be playing injured, Harrison is playing injured, Woodley is playing injured/and or with lots of rust. I'm not sure they make it past Baltimore.

Well they played 4 of the AFC playoff teams, or in other words every team but DEN.And went 3-3 against those teams, with 1 loss being to a HOU team that is much much worse now.

Well thought out and I have thought much about what you've got posted here. I guess we'll see who had the better judgement / thought process as this all plays out.

As I said in the Steelers thread, I don't see PItt making it past both the Broncos and Ravens. Both teams have a good pass rush, and that gives the Steelers problems when Ben is healthy. With Ben stationary, both teams can force fumbles/interceptions and the Steelers have not been forcing many turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. The turnover battle will be their downfall this year, as their offense is looking so anemic lately that their stout defense won't be able to carry the team.
