Stevan Ridley (1 Viewer)

Funny he doesn't hold himself to the same standard when he makes nonsense calls like going for it on 4th and 5 at midfield, or Brady for that matter when he fumbled on a sack. That aside Ridley better cut the crap out, seems like more and more RB's are considered plug and play and if he hasn't cost himself playing time yet he soon will.

Did Ridley have fumbling problems in college, too? It would be nice to get a sense of how long-term this problem is. He obviously got shelved late last year because of it. The Patriots have their eyes on the postseason and I'd hate to see them decide that they couldn't trust Ridley with the ball when the games start to really count. If they start feeling that way, Bolden could definitely get an audition in the starting role soon to see how he handles it.

Please explain?

My gut says deal Ridley high but I can't figure out the RB i'd target to deal him for. You're not going to get those top guys for him and nobody in that next tier fires me up to make a deal. Richardson may be the guy but you'd have to throw something in I'd think.
In dynasty maybe but in redraft, I think that would be even straight up if not the Richardson owner throwing something in at this point.

12 team PPR

Traded Ridley(10th rd pick, 12th spot) & Steve Johnson (5th rd 12th spot FOR Julio Jones ( mid 2nd) an Doug Martin (early 4th)

I'd trade him him straight up for Richardson in a heartbeat I think. I think.

Draft positions are meaningless now. and "ouch".
What do you mean ouch? I thought I got a good deal. Martin has rb2 upside. And JJ is a huge upgrade over SJ. Charles is my RB1
good trade. Doug Martin will come around.

I still see Ridley rated BEHIND guys like Mark Ingram, Benjarvus Green-Ellis, and Ryan Williams in dynasty league rankings. At what point will he start climbing up the value ladder?

You think that Ridley has more value than Richardson in redraft?

Better than T-Rich Megastar? That's unpossible!

I would rather have Richardson but it's close. As long as the fumbling issue subsides, Ridley is in a great situation IMO. Richardson still plays for a crap team and is in a very tough division with strong defenses. In a dynasty, nobody can touch Richardson.

Just traded Ridley and James Jones for Mathews and Cobb. We'll see...

Also got the concussed RG3 (other owner has Newton and Luck)

Yuck. Good luck with that. I love how everyone is jumping ship. Does anyone realize this is the most talented RB the Pats have had since Dillon? Top 5 RB by the end of the season..yes bold and I'm aware of the fumbling issue and Bolden/Vereen/Woody.

Forgot to add, I also got RG3 thrown in from owner with Newton and Luck.I know he's concussed and I have Rodgers but I like the insurance.

Wow I loved the original trade, and you got RG3 as a throw-in? Well done sir!

:goodposting: To me its all about situation. Ridley, despite the backfield company, is in a by far better offense. Cleveland is in a very inept offense. For redraft, I think Ridley is more valuable.

Ridley as RB#16 in the 250 forward. So that fumble cost him about 8-10 spots on the RB list? Don't think so guys. He's an above-average talent on the most potent offense in football. He is by far the best RB on the roster for 1st and 2nd downs. Bolden does not have the lateral quickness, quick feet, or ability to get to the second level like Ridley does. Woodhead is strictly a 3rd down back.

If Belichick punishes him, it will be for a half or game at most. Belichick religiously values ball security, but winning is the only goal. Ridley gives them the best chance to win plain and simple. Do not overthink this one. If Ridley does not start against the Seahawks and the Pats run game struggles in the first half, Ridley will be in to start the 2nd and end up with 12-14 carries.

Hope you guys sold high on Ridley. Even with Bolden hurt, Woodhead getting the late carries.
 Ridley 13 carries, Woodhead 3 (so far with 7 minutes left in the 4th). Yes Woodhead is going to get his 3-5 rushes and 3-5 receptions in that Kevin Faulk role. Ridley also just got 3 carries in a row from the 25 yard line (couldn't convert 3rd and 2, but still....). Clearly the doghouse-fumble concerns were premature. It's a tough Seattle D, but Ridley is still the 1A back in this offense. Also, what's with the Bolden injury?

think he hurt a knee on special teams in the 2nd q.

Still gonna end up a top 10 RB. Perfect time to get him now. I wouldn't sell unless blown away. With the Jets on tap next week, I smell another 100 yard game :)

Yesterday was essentially his first bad game, against a top 3 run D nonetheless. I'm not counting the Baltimore game because obviously he wasn't in the gameplan. With Bolden hurt I think we will see even more of him next week. BUY LOW my friends if possible.

This probably isn't the best thread to ask, but does anybody have anu idea as to the extent of Bolden's injury?

Speculation is a tweak of the already existing injury. I didn't see him go out but he appeared to be running with the same capability he had in previous weeks before he exited.

No practice all week for Bolden. That's a shame. You better take some time off Bolden and make sure that knee is better than 100% before hitting the field again. :bye:

Big week for Ridley, I can feel it. :football:

I'm big on Ridley but I don't get posts like this. Of course you have to count the Bal game; him being unpredictably out of the game plan is probably the biggest risk about Ridley. You can't look at strengths and rationalize away weaknesses when you make evaluations.

(RotoWire)Bolden (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, the Boston Herald reports.

Analysis: With Bolden out, Danny Woodhead and Shane Vereen are in line to pick up some added touches behind Stevan Ridley this weekend. Given that the Patriots have not elaborated on Bolden's injury, his chances of suiting up in Week 8 against the Rams remain unclear.

I sure hope so!!
Me too, but he's too inconsistent for me to start. Hope he goes off so I can move himFull disclosure: he's sitting behind DMC/Martin/Dez

Now that I read what I wrote, they are ALL inconsistent. Oh well. Go Bears.

I think NE is going to run the ball down Rex's throat. That being said, I think Bellichek is going to split carries with Ridley and Woodhead. Ridley will have a good game(80 total yards and 1 TD), but I think Woodley will get his as well.

Woodhead will be used as the pass catching back, but Ridley will be used to run the ball down the Jets throat.

100yd+ and a TD

I have Martin as well and am starting Ridley with confidence over him. Although maybe its the Pats homer in me, and the fact that I'll be at the game :)

In the Martin/Ridley boat, as we'll. I'm leaning Martin. PPR.

So far, it was the right call. But really hoping Ridley picks it up here.
