Just for fun.  Post my positions.  :banned:

NVDA - $794   --WAY TOO MUCH IN.  Like a house

DKNG - $52.44  - A good chunk

HGEN - $17.35 - Starter position.

I’m just posting stuff on Hgen when I see it. We don’t have to have the same circular conversation every time. There were some facts in there, some guessing, overall I thought it had good info.
We aren’t man. I even said it might be a good time to buy, but that was a terrible post. Outside of the facts likely copied from other places on the test results the opinion was incorrect and kind of made up. I’m big on accuracy and I tend to read what you post. Take that as respecting your opinion not as a slight. Just not a fan of all this meme/Reddit stuff that stretches the truth.

Etrade is merging with Morgan Stanley according to my etrade account.

See our comprehensive FAQs for more information on the merger with Morgan Stanley. Plus, learn more about:

End of quarter today. Might see some of your winners get slapped around for no real reason. Funds locking in profits so their quarterly statements look pretty.

MDB selling some shares so getting dinged but I thought a company selling shares was awesome and makes it go to the moon? Maybe if you have it lined up with institutions interested in buying at a set price, that’s bad but if you secretly wait until you are done selling it to a bunch of retail investors because institutions wouldn’t touch it anywhere near that price (unless they can turn around instantly and sell it for a big profit to retail) to announce it, that’s good. I get so confused by the it’s not your grandpa’s market anymore changes.

AMD has quietly been heating up over the last 10 days or so.  One of my best investments
I like that XLNX was bought by them for an all shares deal, so it moves in lock step. It’s still a little bit of a discount but I’ll likely hold onto my AMD shares. After the conversion I’ll have around 172 shares and change. Been a nice 50% performance in a year. Actually, looking at prices, the merger values XLNX at $160 a share or more than 10% more than its current price. AMD has been on a run but XLNX hasn’t run as fast. Will be a nice 60% return or maybe more as I’d think the merger approval would cause a nice bump too.

You think I should feel some of my AMD for XLNX?  I'm currently in a 2:1 ratio favoring AMD.

There still is a chance it doesn’t go through although XLNX was a solid performer before the deal. I think if I was opening a position in AMD, I’d use XLNX as an Avenue to get a nice discount, but would so bother moving things around to take all that risk? Not sure. I will say that I think both would tumble if the merger was off because AMD needs to expand and XLNC does that. They can’t have NVDA buying ARM and get too dominant.

Hopefully, no issues with the merger as I think it will be good in the long run.

Just took a starter position in XMTR.  I know nothing about it, but some guy who predicted the Hawks winning yesterday and Antetokounmpo would sprain his knee said to buy it.

Link to ETF website where you can click on total holdings on the left-hand side. Top Ten are:

NVDA, TenCent, RBLX, MSFT, FSLY, TSM, U, ADSK, AMZN, QCOM

Also has SE, BABA, SNAP, AMD and more. Not a bad looking collection.

GHVI spiking today.  Great to see.  Really like the technology behind Matterport and think it will be a big winner in a decade.

Icon brought up water shortages recently but I don't think the conversation ever got going.  I would love to delve into that and other drought/heat related issues and companies therein.  Maybe a separate thread?

I keep riding TAN since I want solar/green energy sector without having to pick an individual company. I don't know if water refinement is a thing yet, but I'd have interest there as well.

Someone SPAC should acquire me for drought resolution.  All I need to do is to plan a hike or camping trip and it's guaranteed to rain.

All of that digital twin stuff is a very crowded space, but I like that they have something going on with Autodesk.   I have been bullish on Autodesk & Trimble for a while. They are reaping the benefits of accelerated cloud / tech push due to covid, and are also going to get a boost with any infrastructure.

Where there is smoke...

and this coming from the people in the know on Crypto. My confirmation bias on the NFT dividend is soaring.

I may have to add to my lofty GameStop position here
My concern is that NFTs are a fad. Fad stocks end badly. I owned some cigar companies back in the 90's that still make me drink to forget.  Plus, another issue with NFTs is that you only own a link to it, not the NFT itself.  To me, that's troublesome.

DPLS, what is the plan/ exit strategy here?
For me, I'm holding for awhile.

I sold some yesterday just to remove all of my original investment + some profit out of it.

At this point my cost basis is so low that it's worth hanging on to. I've already used profits on this to buy some dividend stocks and such.

Total lottery ticket for me.

I'll add on DPLS - since I've held this one it would go up periodically and then drop back down below .02. This happened for quite awhile.

This sustained run for the last three weeks has been pretty stable.

Any opportunities in weed stocks or has that ship sailed and best to stay away? Saw VA going legal today.
I had bought into CWBHF (Charlotte's Web Holdings) from a recommendation I saw through the Motley Fool (I believe) but it's only gone down. However, there are still some recommendations to buy and hold it. Some have the target price as a little over $5.00.  I bought in higher than that.

CBDHF was also one I saw recommended either on here or somewhere else.

I still have a few shares of CWBHF in one of my backend accounts I never check with a cost basis of $87 or something 😮

Like I think most around here I got in on that Motley Fool Stock Advisor deal when it was on sale.

They put out a big recommendation on Paycom (PAYC) today.  I happened to be checking my email right when the recommendation video went live so made a quick $10/share scalp on the announcement but sold it all around there.

As far as longer term goes this is the first big rec they've put out since I signed up.  For those that have had the service longer how do these things usually do in the weeks/months following a fool recommendation like this?

What do you mean by "first big rec?" They put out recs twice a month (which are sometimes re-recs of prior recs) and a list of 5 Best Buys the other two weeks pulled from the active list.

Other than that, the stocks performance other than in the minutes immediately after the rec just behave how they're going to behave with or without the rec.

As an aside, I really dislike how Motley Fool has gone to these videos vs just releasing the write-up on the site. I'm usually on phone calls and miss the entire pop.

Yeah I admittedly haven't been paying super close attention to it but in this case they sent out an email ahead of time with a live stream link where they were going to announce the recommendation for everyone to all kind of be gathered up to see the reveal at the same time, which I can't remember them doing before since I signed up.

Also all the trading chat rooms had it queued up in their announcements with everyone trading around it which I don't really remember seeing very often before in those chats.

ETA: seems like from @Desert_Power's post maybe they do these live streams regularly now and I just haven't noticed.

HGEN acting more like CYDY with pending news, certainly not acting like a stock that is about to get an EUA.  Fair to say there is little confidence from the market based on this price action.

Drug does not get covered by any real news sources, which doesn't help matters in the short term,  but is always a red flag for me too.

I’ve been saying this for weeks and weeks.  It’s far and away my biggest concern here.  If this was up for EUA soon the big players and smart money would be in on it, especially when it drops.  But the daily volume sucks and it seems like there no real interest in it.  Super concerning to me.
