XLNX doing well today

Up 3.78%
Been a great stock for me, glad I bought a full share last June. When (knock on wood) the acquisition is complete, it should be really close to a double for me. Not sure if I’ll sell or keep the AMD but it would be nice to be able use that money. Feels like it’s been forever and it’s still a 15% discount, which is why I’m waiting.

Lol on the last sentence. KALA still staring me in the face. When I asked in here what anyone thought about selling, I should have just sold.

I’m kind of hit or miss on buying early. It worked great for all my initial buys and it worked well back in February/March although ETSY, DDOG and SHOP would be large holdings had I gone in big.

My post above was more about finally shedding the little buys that aren’t top recs anymore or never were and just finishing positions/leaving cash for other new recs/big dips.

Yeah, KALA is just a complete dog. Felt like the dry eyes market was ripe for some disruption given how annoying it is for my wife to find drops that work/are covered. Now, I'm just waiting for this to hit LT status later this year to net it against some winners.

So mad that when it jumped to $8.40 (bought around $7), I didn’t dump it.

Also, you don’t have to wait for a loser. If you see as short term loss, it cancels short term gains (which is best) and if you don’t have enough short term gains it will cancel out long term gains. Same happens in reverse too, but it cancels long term gains first. If you have any short term gains, don’t wait to sell since short term is taxed higher. Mine is in my IRA so it doesn’t matter.

Ah, didn't realize this. Don't think I have taken anything short term this year in taxable accounts.

Added some KR and T today, sold the UUUU purchased last week for a 24% gain.  UUUU has been money this year buying on the dips.

Bought 7 to but lucky put stop loss at 4.50... good luck

At this point it’s 0.1% of our investments so it’s a nuisance. I was just going to give it a bit since I’ve had a biotech stock that lost about 40% after a year and now is up 200% a little over a year after that. After CYDY, I don’t put much into risky stuff that wasn’t a solid recommendation. That worked out well (profit was a couple years of college tuition) even with all the ups and downs, but it was stressful.

Bought AFRM at 120.00, Best Buy of the year, a run to 200.00 will pay for my new Maverick truck on order.  With contracts with Amazon, Walmart, Target, feels like no ceiling for this stock!

I bought a whole bunch at $89 right after the Amazon announcement.  I sold it when it spiked to $127 when the "announcement" of AFRM/Walmart partnership started making waves even though AFRM/Walmart have had a partnership since like 2019.  I figured it was going to tank a bit when people realized that wasn't new, which it did for a few hours, and then they announced the Shopify partnership and off it ran w/out me 😕

Added 150 shares of C this morning at $70.  Good earnings with a PE of 8 it is extremely undervalued.

Following your lead here as this type buy that has been doing well.  My cost basis on my remaining 7 C shares is $43 (was a large holding at one point).  Added another 7 shares.  Based on history, I'm leaving room to add more later

C is due for another buyback any day now too.  It should be back to 80 real soon.

Same but I managed to get enough in that it’s second only to $SE as far as my position sizes go.
Oh, it’s my 3rd largest holding only behind Amazon and TTD. I bought a good amount, just saying it would have been a good time to consolidate all the stragglers and make my portfolio simpler. I could have made my life easier and richer!

I tried. Just wish I was smart enough to go in bigger. I’ve got a good amount but there were definitely stocks that I should have dumped. Damn work and stuff.
Yeah, I guess my lesson is to not get caught up on one line of obvious BS from the CEO about their competitive position and look a the fuller picture on these high-growth type of businesses.

Good question form the call:

And what -- and Mark, maybe I might disagree with your philosophy a little bit. And your philosophy set is first serve clients, then invest in the business, then you do buybacks. Why should you have any change in your philosophy? It's because the discount to book value is just getting greater and greater. Your discount versus peer has increased. Citi has worst-in-class returns, adjusted efficiency and stock market valuation. So why not a little change in that philosophy to more buybacks versus investing if you have such a great opportunity with your share price?

If BLDP keeps this up, I'll be in the green by Christmas...

2023
If you hold this thru 2023......you will be thanking me. Huge things ahead for this company if you are paying attention.

I guess you missed out on 25-30 winners I posted here a year ago.....too bad for you man.

Dear Todem,

Thank you for making me so much money on BLMN, CMCSA, EXC, STWD, GLPI, just recently NFLX. I don't have my complete transaction history lying around, I'm sure I'm missing at least another dozen super profitable tickers directly from you. So much so that I feel comfortable making light hearted jokes about the status of BLDP while I wait for it to come around.

🥰

All good!!! Glad you made a lot of money!!!!!

BLDP is a rare homer type of stock....and yes high high risk as we always said it was....but man...looking forward to the future of that company as the transition to green energy around the world becomes more and more a reality.

Need to convert some of my buy-and-hold dividend payers into your recs.  Got a good chunk of SE in my son's portfolio because of you.  Thanks for that.

No disrespect to Todem but I though folks like @-OZ- and others brought SE up. I know I knew about them back in the $30s but didn’t buy because it was one of a lot of recs. Wasn’t until I started hearing folks in here tout it that I jumped in.

Do you know roughly when your last post was that had some new recs?  Been busy getting a new company off the ground and didn't get time to dig into those.

Yup, @-OZ- and others had been the SE pimps.  Had to trim because it was become to big a % of my portfolio.  Only wish I had adhered to that on Amazonk.

I've actually closed some converted SPAC positions for a profit this week.  Not much discussion about the companies after the conversion so it's hard to know if it's something I want to hold.  History says most will end up down within a year so I'm cashing out and locking in some profit.

@stbugs

Any thoughts on Tatooed Chef?  In the past I've been buying in this $18 or below range and then selling at $22.  I'm not seeing the growth in the sales numbers.

My apologies to @-OZ- then.  I only poke my head in here from time to time and first learned of it on a Todem post.
Wish there was a way to follow users for thread specific responses.  Right now getting notifications evertime @Todem posts in the Miami Dolphin thread and whatnot 8^))

Are there people who didn't have a bunch of winners the last year and a half?  I mean, would that even be possible, outside of penny stocks or other crap?

Any thoughts on T.  It's pushing a 20 year low.  Thought they were selling off a bunch of stuff soon.
