Finished season 2 finale of 1923. When the first episode of season 2 aired I thought to myself if it takes the entire season for Spencer to get home I'm gonna be unhappy. Season was a slow grind. Still decent. Great cast. The 2 hour finale was magical television for me. Thought no way they wrap this season up in 2 hours. They did. It was marvelous..
I hated the show. Loved Yellowstone, 1883 and the first season of 1923. Could not stand Alex and as you said it, the slow grind.

Finished Bosch: Legacy (S3 on Prime)
I have posted a few times how the girl that plays his daughter ruined the series for me.
On the plus side, she wasn't highlighted as much this season as she was last season, but yikes, still....any scene she is in was just unwatchable.
This last and final season could have been so much better. Loved the way it started and then it just went in three different directions.
Then, they wrapped up all the story lines by Episode 7, and in Episode 8, they brought back an old story line, introduced a new main character, and in a single 45-minute episode, it was all neatly wrapped up. Their production meetings had to have been a nightmare!
Season 3 was ok. Can't recommend anyone spend time watching it if you keep a busy schedule. However, if you have nothing else to live for, it's still mildly entertaining awful.

Still holding out hope there will be a J. Edgar spinoff.

Yes - she’s not a great actress. She looks a lot like my younger daughter so I can’t totally dislike her but I didn’t watch any of Legacy and she’s a main reason why.

Yeah, she's a bad actress. Stiff in her physical movements, stiff in her acting.

Thanks to all the high praise here I started the pitt and have watched the first 3 episodes. Normally I'm with those that aren't into medical shows. I never got into ER or anything similar, but this one hits different. The acting is absolutely outstanding and I'm on the edge of my seat from the start to finish of an episode. I'm glad I started it. This is really great so far.

I just started True Detective season 1 (Woody and McC). I previously watched only season 4 (Alaska, Jodie Foster).

First I've ever heard of anybody doing this....wow.

Season 1 some of the best TV ever made.

I didn't even finish Season 4. Utterly ridiculous.
I... uh... saw the scene with Daddario.
Oh my. To see that for the first time... so jealous!
Happy to share a link if you need.

Just reliving that scene in my mind and it moved a little

Jealous.
Why, do you need a link to find where to watch it?
No. I'd love to be able to watch it fresh. It's one of the best seasons of TV ever.
Not only have I never seen it, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of it
Oh come on
🤷🏻‍♂️

I see it’s on Hulu. Might give it a go.
We are watching Goliath, season 3 starts tonight
I'm seeing only S4 of True Detective available on Hulu.

Oh I've seen it a few times. Nothing like the first time, though, when I wasn't expecting it.

The first 3 episodes of Leverage: Redemption S3 were released yesterday. I loved the original and some of the episodes of s1-2 of Redemption but I am not sure they have much more they can do. The episodes were ok, some cool scenes and cons. They seem to also be playing the the "getting older, maturing" aspects since some of the team is older. I will watch them all as they come out, hoping they are fun.

That's where I saw season 4. I currently have Max from a Black Friday deal, and it expires in about a month, so I'm watching a few shows I've always meant to see.

I just watched the first two episodes of The Bondsman starring Kevin Bacon on Prime.
I’m not normally a fan of the undead genre but I like KB so I gave it a look. It’s got some good music and I learned a new use for duct tape.
About 10 minutes in and like what I'm seeing.
Hmmm. Never even heard of this Kevin Bacon? Undead? I'm in. Thanks
Waiting for him to attach a chainsaw to his arm.
Been watching this, it's fun brainless entertainment with some funny bits and gore. Reminds me a lot of a cross between Ash vs Evil Dead's humor/gore factor crossed with a little bit of Reaper's goofy Devil's Bounty Hunter type plot.

Last of Us
I didn’t play the game this far and didn’t know it was coming. Wow, to actually kill off the most bankable TV star took some stones.
Not many shows/movies use real snow, it seemed they did.

iHostage (Netflix) is the worst movie I’ve seen in quite awhile. Just awful. The fact that it is based on real events is kind of sad, because with more (any) character development and numerous other tweaks, it might have actually been adequate.

Anyone watch Dark Winds?

I’ve never heard of it until now and it has three seasons all with 100% on rotten tomatoes.
I never go by critics score on RT. Popcorn meter on RT and IMDB scores give me a better view of what "real" people actually like.

Same, but 3 consistent 100% seasons is eye opening.
I started watching it based on comments from a few people here a bit ago.

it's good- worth watching. I don't think it was slam-dunk must see, but solid top top to bottom.

I binged the 1st sesason and don't rememeber if I kept going into S2 or not. Might give it another run when I have a minute.

wait... this is the one on a native american res, and not the pirates in the bahamas thing, right?

Yes. Black Sails is the pirate thing.

ok I finished it. It's not bad and I like the interaction between Hub and his mom but it seems to take itself more seriously than a Stan Against Evil or Ash. They set it up for a second season which I'll watch but this show was more "ok this is a neat little show" rather than "wow this is so good"

Extracted finale
Ep 9 was a good one as all 4 competitors had to move/create a new camp for a reset with only a few items.
Some took tarps and fire making, others didn't. Dumbest one was a can of food - they should have opened that up and ate it to take something else.

Finale
Pt1 = Race to a checkpoint. Inflate a canoe and paddle downstream. Youngest is a whitewater raft instructor, great use of the bag to inflate over the mouth tube - until the bag broke. Both men got in the water first and landed first. The great equalizer - the family had to come up with a 5 letter word as a combo for the lock on their chest. 2 did well, 2 got eliminated. Seemed like the winner got it on the first try.

Pt2= decode a morse code message to tell them which direction to go. Race to the finish point by a nice waterfall.
Winner takes all. Such a SHARK. I'm not disappointed that the girl won, she was on the brink of elimination with no sleeping bag and freezing each night. She never went 'without' something in her crates or penalized for being good. Usually positive attitude. Second favorite player for me.

The guy leading the whole time with all the disadvantages of empty supply crates, 4 items taken away from him, and remained positive the entire time - came in second. Had hoped he'd win due to both being so good with so little and for overcoming all the obstacles against him.

I'd watch another season of it.

Finished the last episode. It sucked.

I had high hopes after episode one, but man oh man it just got more and more stupider as it went on. The mullet son was one step above the Babdook brat. Hub's Mom took acting lessons from granny of the Beverly Hillbillies reruns. Took all I had to get to the end. Acting and story were off the rails bad. Even Hub was just plain unlikable after like 3 episodes.
Had potential, but couldn't make up it's mind wether it wanted to be serious or a romp.

I know it's been said a bunch here already but The Pitt on MAX is just fantastic television. EP7 hit me in the feels more than once. My wife and I have been binging multiple episodes every day so can't wait to see how the rest of season 1 plays out.
Ep8 is a really tough one. We don't binge, only watching one episode a week, just finished Ep9 last night. The ending was pretty shocking. Every episode so far has been great.

I binged it and now wishing I hadn't as I am missing it
In the past , I haven't watched hospital dramas so skipped Pitt until everyone starting talking about it in here.

For the reality competition fans out there:

Netflix reality show with Netflix reality show members (confusing, but they were all on other Netflix shows). $250,000
Summer Camp on a lake theme / set-up.
Challenges - usual physical, mental, and fear factor food.
3 teams: Bears, Wolves, and Eagles (Eagles looked the 'biggest' - the shortest is as tall as the tallest on other teams). (Bears may be the brains team).

Unbeatable = win the challenge
Unbreakable = win the punishment
Unhateable = voting
Those 3 things keep your name off the wheel slots. Losing at any, well... when the slots fill up, the host spins it and that person is out. Chance.

Host: Former Tennessee Titan Taylor Lewan

Battle Camp

Don't worry, it slows down from here on out for a nice pleasant ride :-)

Very much worth watching (haven't seen the new season yet).
And if you find you like it, there's Reservation Dogs. (more humorous, same male actor -- Zahn McClarnon --, younger cast)

I didn't find Dark Winds and Reservation Dogs to be anything alike other than being on a Reservation. Totally different show types.

With the heavy reliance on 'chance', it doesn't have as much intensity as other competitions. Less drama, though there is some.
Pretty fair challenges for all to do well. Used the 'camp' theme effectively.
Punishments can be real bad depending upon the person health and mental fortitude. (mmm cockroach Mac&Cheese or Tarantula Pizza) (face down holding breath in ice bath, max steps in an hour, etc)
Some athletic, some from shows where they sit around.

Always try to keep your name off the spin wheel. Every time you lose at something, your names goes on it.
Keeps players from hiding the entire game.
One group lost a lot, so they got more edit time. A few got limited amount of edits.

Common sense twist in the finale:
Flip the script = Now every time you win challenge/punishment your name goes on the wheel = good thing = chance for the prize money. Voting = who (other than yourself) would you like to see win?

(3) Unbreakable (punishment 1 = ice): Georgia, Lorenzo, Chase

(3) Unbreakable (punishment 2 = steps): Shubham, Georgia, Chase
Shuby and Georgia were 2 of the least edited people - least physical. Interesting upsets.

(2) Unbeatable (challenge 1 = ~40ft wall endurance hang): Lorenzo, Georgia
Polly has injured hand and chose not to compete.

(4) Unbeatable (challenge 2 = ~40ft wall plank trust/deception): Polly, Shubham, Chase, QT
Georgia too scared of heights knowing she's on the drop plank - refuses - automatic loss.

(6) Unhateable (likability voting): Shubham x1, QT x1, Lorenzo x1, Georgia x1, Chase x1, Polly x1
No one missed a vote (thought the millionaire OC Real Estate Agent Polly may not get one).

Luck or fate?
Spin the wheel - {zzzzzzzzzzzz..... tick tick tick}
The oddest character by a mile: Lorenzo is $250k richer.

Just finished all 4 seasons of The Sinner and to me that's a pretty damn good show. Bill Pullman is probably the most internally-tortured detective I've seen (except maybe Kari Sorjonen in Bordertown) and does an excellent job. There are 4 seasons, each with a murder to solve, each season self-contained.
Season 1 starts with an incredible opening episode, just a shocking murder in front of a crowd by an average everyday person, and then spends the rest of the season unraveling why it happened. Co-stars Jessica Biel who's quite beautiful but whose acting ability is quite vacant. But the story line and shock of the first episode carry the season.
Season 2 co-stars Carrie Coon, and she's pretty damn ferocious in some scenes and carries the season, which is about a child murderer.
Season 3 is kind of a mess, with the main redeeming quality being Jessica Hecht who I like looking at and whose accent I enjoy listening to.
Season 4 co-stars Alice Kremelberg and is the most compelling season of the 4.
Pullman (as Harry Ambrose) is just a wreck of a man who continues falling apart through the series and who solves murders no one else cares to. Very good series.
I'd rate the seasons as follows
Season 4
Season 1
Season 2
.
.
Season 3

And now I've started Black Snow, which stars Travis Fimmel as, you guessed it, an internally-tortured detective. Doing a good job so far but he's no Harry Ambrose.
