Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (17 Viewers)

Started watching Heroes, I'm 6 episodes in. Have to admit it has much more gore than I would have expected, especially the cheerleader. Its a good plot buildup so far and definitely enjoyable.
Season 1 was awesome, then it just got progressively worse until it became unwatchable.

I actually liked the last season with the carnival guys; it felt a lot like X-Men. But they found their sweet spot too late and lost all their viewers and momentum by then.

I don't think I made it that far.

I think most people didn't. The middle seasons were a mess. I think you can jump into Season 4 without being lost. The Samuel character is like a Magneto-type villain.

Crap. Dexter lost me in season 2, was hoping for better here

Watched a good one last night about the TWA flight 800 FBI coverup. Scores of witnesses saw a missile hit the plane, and when you see how the FBI operated the investigation, it's clear they did their best to keep the truth from getting out. I'm the last person to believe in conspiracy theories but this one is pretty much open and shut.

Yeah I was pretty blown away by that doc.

Not sure when they got it, but I'm watching Sleeper Cell right now. Undercover FBI agent infiltrates a terrorist cell...I remember really liking the first season when it ran on Showtime. Never saw season 2, but both are currently on Netflix.

I'm down to four episodes left of Freaks and Geeks. This show is amazing. I can not believe that I didn't see this show before now and I can't believe it got cancelled so quick.

Second 10 episodes of Comedy Bang! Bang! just added.

First one of these was a little more out there than the first season, but I still recommend this show (and podcast) overall.

So '24' was dropped from Netflix today. Apparently Amazon bought exclusive streaming. Perfect for them as the new season launches in May and Amazon will be the only ones that can stream it later this year.

Sucks for Netflix peeps though.

On this note, if there is anywhere that gives some heads up about shows to be cancelled, would love a link. If Breaking Bad gets dropped before I finish it, I will lose my freakin mind.

Amazon's also the place to catch up on Veronica Mars before you see the movie. Er, at least that's what a friend told me.

Instant watcher used to have ending dates but netflixs pulled that information from the public because they were losing more content then gaining.

Ugh, two steps forward, one step back.

The streaming game appears to be getting more and more fractured, either forcing people back into the DVD rental game or to buy multiple services. For those of us that don't quite care enough to do either of those, you just get stuck with subpar choices.

A friend told me about that as well. :bag: Currently in the middle of Season 2 and I don't think I ever watched S3 so that one will be new to me.

I was pleasantly surprised that the first season was actually better than I remembered it. Great little show there.

WTF!!! I'm half-way through season one right now.

Does Amazon have subtitles on it?

Watched a flick the other day called Violet and Daisy, a story of two supercutecute teenage hitmen. Very good story about friendship and trust and forgiveness wrapped up in in fun violent backdrop. Nice turn by James Gandolfini in a somewhat unusual role for him.

Also, Alexis Bledel might have the most beautiful eyes ever created.

I haven't seen it before and I'm still in S1. I kept hearing good things, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

It's better than the show Bell is on now that's for sure (though I haven't that since the first season).

Got through the 1st half of Mud last night, and had to tap out b/c I was exhausted. But it's great. Highly recommended.
Overall I thought it was just ok. I really enjoyed it at first. I'm a sucker for movies that have boyhood friends hanging out, riding bikes, exploring, and just doing stuff. Also, having spent some time in Arkansas, I thought it was cool how the movie portrayed that life. But, really, once it became less about the boys and more about Mud and what's her name, I started to lose interest.

Bernie. Good flick.
Definitely. I remember one day wanting to get out of the house and see a movie. So I just went to the theater and picked something to see. I picked Bernie. Loved it. I've watched in a couple times on Netflix.

watched a couple horror movies the last few days.

V/H/S/2- worth a watch if you are a horror fan, but liked the first one a lot more. The first one is also on Netflix if you haven' seen it. Found footage genre.

Maniac- really liked this one. Elijah Wood plays a good psychopath. Most of this movie is shown through the eyes of the killer. Remake of 1980 movie of the same name.

For horror fans both worth a watch IMO. Also check out the original V/H/S if you haven't seen it.

Watched the Steve Jobs movie today. Kucher is surprisingly good, though the movie tends to lose focus and then ends abruptly after a solid first hour. Would recommend, but it could've been better.

Amazon Prime - May 21

All seasons of:

"The Sopranos"

"Rome"

"Six Feet Under"

"Eastbound & Down"

"Enlightened"

"Flight of the Conchords"

Some seasons of:

"Boardwalk Empire"

That news was enough for me to cancel netflix. Now just have amazon prime, an antenna, and MLB.TV.

Watched Odd Thomas this afternoon.

Liked this movie a lot. Kind of paranormal, crime fighter move. Major bonus--Addison TImlin is in this movie. I have never seen her before, but WOW, she is hot. No nudity in this movie but Californication series features her in an episode.

I am currently watching Mr. Nobody with Jared Leto. Interesting concept (about the choices we make in life) but it is stealing scenes and concepts from other movies. I am just a half hour in and it has stolen from

Forrest Gump
Harold and Maude
Little Big Man
Slaughterhouse Five

and at one point, Jared Leto is a spitting image of old Harry Potter.

I like the concept but have some original ideas

Man, I watched Mortified Nation last night with may gal. I was expecting chick comedy, and although it had plenty of that, it was hilarious. There where a few parts that I laughed so hard it hurt.

They get people to read old diaries and writings from when they were kids. The guy that wrote a bunch of heavy metal was pricless! Don't miss his song during the credits!

Extremely poor timing on their part. Amazon prime is getting most of HBOs lineup older than 3 years on the 21st.

It's one freaking dollar. People are seriously peeved about this?

Oh no, my TV now costs an extra $12 a year. It's a pittance compared to what cable companies do with their rates.

I don't like to pay more for anything... not sure about you. At least as a current subscriber, I get two years before it increases.
