Dollhouse didn't grab me.
You really got to give it time. The end of the series is amazing.
wife watched all the way through, IIRC. I caught episodes here or there. I'll give it another look if/when I've got time.just signed up for the free month of HBO and started Silicon Valley.
Love HBO's dramas, but besides Curb Your Enthusiasm, none of their comedies have pulled me in. Really dislike Silicon valley for whatever reason. Think Veep is ok.
No Eastbound and Down likes?
Forgot it was hbo, but again- thought it was ok. Had some good inappropriate laughs, but it got old quickly for me.

It's a shame that HBO's greatest comedy (The Larry Sanders Show) is not available on HBO GO.

Hello Ladies is hilarious. So is Extras.

Just want to say :thanks: to all that recommend Blue Ruin

Loved the way the director allowed the story to unfold without much said..

I think there were one or two sentences said during the first 20 minutes and it really drew me in

Loved Larry Sanders, love both Veep and Silicon Valley, really liked Extras.

But couldn't get into Hello Ladies.

I want a divorce.

Started watching The Witnesses.

French murder/mystery type show.

Really good so far. Picturesque, good acting and storyline.

A few eps in and hope it holds up but I am in for S1

I like Daredevil. It's not amazing, but it's pretty good so far. My issue to this point (9 episodes) is that I don't buy Kingpin as being this powerful guy. He seems almost weak with all the angst and stuff, despite the couple of scenes where he is physical.
That's my gripe. I get wanting to make him a little more rounded because his character is just a stereotypical mobster with some super strength. But he's not a whiny hipster pining after a girl.

The action scenes are still cool as hell though.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge (H-U-G-E) fan of Firefly and I am not trying to insult or diminish it.

Dollhouse is definitely worth it for Wheedon fans but it really is another show of his that showed more potential than it actually delivered, kind of like Firefly. And like Firefly it leaves you wondering more about what could have been rather than thinking about what it actually was.
I actually think the opposite. Season 1 of Dollhouse when they were going at their own pace was just ok. Season 2 when they had to cram everything in because they knew they were getting canceled was amazing, much moreso than if they had to stretch that story out for 5-7 seasons around a bunch of standalone episodes. Unlike Firefly, which had amazing standalone episodes that made it ok for them to only touch on the larger arc every so often, the standalone episodes in Dollhouse weren't very interesting. It was the main arc that was, and cramming it all into one season with no standalone eps worked out great.

This was really good overall.

Well worth a viewing if you don't mind subtitles. This will pull you in within the 1st few minutes so no need for a 2 episode investment.

Only 6 episodes to S1.

I completely agree. Season 1 of Dollhouse... kinda meh. Like watching a Hawaii 5-0. Season 2, pure awesome.

Watched "Dawg Fight" last night. Wasn't bad, Kept me entertained. 3.5/5

"West Perrine, Florida is a suburban ghetto in Southwest Miami-Dade County. Over 73% of its residents are African-American and more than a third of them are unemployed. Violent crimes occur on a daily basis in this neighborhood of less than two square miles, where much of its adult male population winds up dead or in prison before their 30th birthday. But there is hope in the hood... Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris (6'3", 270lbs., bench presses 670lbs) grew up blocks away from Perrine's MMA sensation, Kimbo Slice, and spent a year traveling the world as Kimbo's bodyguard. When Kimbo's manager buried video of Dada's spectacular backyard fight debut, for fear of Dada overshadowing his rising superstar, Dada leaves Kimbo's crew and makes a life-changing decision: Dada builds a ring in his momma's backyard and transforms himself into the Don King of illegal backyard fights in Perrine. No doctors, no ambulance. Just two men in a 12'x12' ring battling in a savage bare-knuckle fight to the finish".

Well I'll give it a few more episodes because the time period interest me bit I was underwhelmed by the way the first episode tried to intersperse flashbacks with current action. Made it very confusing to follow.

Thanks to those that mentioned Blue Ruin. Another one of those movies I never would have watched without the recommendations in this thread.
Agreed.. Until others recommended it here I just passed it by.. Really.. REALLY glad I listened to the recommendations!

I enjoyed MP for being "epic" and with some decent large-scale action and boobs... but great TV it aint. the lead is pretty terrible.

I'm sensing that.

Started watching this. Doubt I will finish it. Made me pretty sad actually.
I loved it...sad at times but shows what some people have to do to get money and recognition ...loved that DA DA called out Kimbo Slice at the end

Loved this. Yes - it was clear it was made by relative amateurs and it could have been better in different hands, but it was still better than 90% of the stuff on netflix.
