Couldn't stand him at first, but he soon became my favorite part of the show.  I'm pretty sure he's just playing a professionally written version of himself.

Jane Krakowski's character is what stopped me from watching the show.  I could not get past how much I hated her.

This is all well said. I know there are flamboyant, effeminate gay men. It's just that using that archetype in a modern show feels weird.

Agreed, but when they have an actor who doesn't have to act to portray a character that way, it is clearly (to me in my opinion) not a situation of making fun of that person. 

Plus, he's just funny.

Watched "Freeway : Crack in the system" and it was....ok.  It was interesting to hear that a former corrections officer turned rapper took the name "Rick Ross" because it had street value as a drug kingpin and he thought the real Rick Ross would never get out of prison.  Oops.  There was a reporter with a conspiracy story about how the proceeds of crack were used to fund Contras through the CIA, so if that's your bag this will scratch that itch.

There is a book called Dark Alliance written by Gary Webb that covers this entire subject matter.  Webb, a reporter for the San Jose Mercury, mysteriously died after doing the investigative journalism and writing the book.

Electric Dreams is kind hit or miss

kill all others, the Commuter and safe and sound are really good...the Commuter is a classic

i really liked impossible Planet, even though it lacked exposition and they totally destroyed the premise of the original story ( I can understand why some  disliked this one, but when viewed metaphysically, it just clicks for me and makes a more ####ed up statement about perception and reality than the original)

Just binged Everything Sucks and I really liked this one

the first ep was a little rough, but it got tons better....

definitely a Freaks and Geeks vibe to it...

Pretty funny show, easy to binge.  Seems somewhat realistic and love the 90's undertone throughout.  The phish reference in the first episode was cool and the internet scene where the screen took forever ot load and the kid marveling at something being wrong on the "net" was hilarious.  The hot girl was indeed just smoking hot and I would have lost it if someone looked like that at my school

My youngest daughter watches the Full House reboot on Netflix, so turrible. I sat and watched an episode with her and laughed loudly every time the laugh track went off, then noted that what was just said wasn't funny. She was not amused. 

Hate to admit it but we've watched most of the episodes. Wasn't the worst thing my wife likes to watch.

I haven't watched Altered Carbon yet, but it's interesting how polarizing it is.  People seem to either like it or hate it, with few who are neutral about it.  Personally, I love good sci-fi movies and shows, but IMO the Netflix produced movies and shows so far have been overwhelmingly disappointing, so I am skeptical I will like Altered Carbon.

Just starting Crazyhead.  Appears to be a British horror/comedy about two young gals who can see and fight demons.  Not loving it not hating, will report back which category the show ultimately falls into.  I't it turns out to be a female version of Supernatural, but those are probably unrealistic expectations.

I notice with my kids, they love The Office and just can't tolerate Seinfeld.  It's the laugh track... Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock, and Parks wrecked sitcoms with laugh tracks for me - it seems that the same is true for my kids, who never watched a show with a laugh track and can't handle it.

I saw a video once of the Big Bang Theory before they added the laugh track. Or someone edited it out. Oh man, it’s so unfunny when you watch it this way. The actors pausing to slow laugh track time is really weird to watch.

I also started watching Episodes thanks to the recommendations here as well. I barely made it past the first episode but once I did the show is hilarious. The first episode is like a setup episode. Matt LeBlanc plays himself which is basically Joey Tribiani.

By the end it reminded me a bit of Jupiter Ascending in being a giant mess of a sci fi story. I was invested enough to finish but it’s a tough recommend. For those that didn’t like the first couple of episodes, I wouldn’t recommend pushing through.

That is what I did. Like I said, Daredevil set up Punisher nicely and I was already invested in this version of Punisher through his story line in Daredevil. It was actually fairly seamless to go from Daredevil to Punisher. Punisher didn't really do the same for any other show so I was not sure where to go from there and these are all characters that had next to nothing in Marvel back in the days when I was into comics versus Daredevil and Punisher being big names (though I was not a Daredevil fan of the comics).

I had no expectations, like sci-fi and I wasn't that impressed. 

But as I mentioned up thread, if you're a die-hard sci-fi fan, there are some interesting concepts and decent stuff to look at (primarily blade runner immitation world and boobs). Casting, acting and writing were distractingly bad for me... so that's the stuff you'd have to somehow shut out to get into this IMO.

About five episodes into both shows. Like both a lot. Episodes isn’t “but gusting” funny but it’s very clever and well done. LeBlanc does a great job or parodying himself.

I watched all of it and I'm pretty close to neutral, slightly leaning positive. It was dark and claustrophobic, reminded me a lot of Blade Runner visually (as others have mentioned). I also agree with others that the casting was poor, the lead was not convincing and pretty flat in general, his sidekick recruit was totally forgettable, etc.

Maybe it's my preference for the genre in general but I thought it was mildly interesting and worth watching.

I am fairly far in. It isn't great but I don't think it is horrible. For me the knock is that there is not a whole lot of original ideas or visuals. If you are into sci-fi then you will watch and think 'that is like ______'

The production value is good though. What I would expect on a feature film so that has it going for it. I think they spent a lot of money on this series.

I’m not sure I agree with the criticism the casting/acting sucked - Tom Hanks isn’t walking through the door and salvaging the dialogue and story beats. I blame the writing for a lot of this.

I'm a few episodes in and liking it so far.  Some hilarious moments...the first time the blonde and the brother "hook up" had me howling.

If you like Episodes, there is another UK show on Netflix with that same couple but they work in a hospital.  I don't know what it's about but it had John Oliver in it and "Millah" from Broadchurch (and the butt ton of other stuff she's been in).  IDK if it's any good, but it exists.

Amazon Prime - Brawl in Cell Block 99 -  Vince Vaughn gets tossed into prison and must kill an inmate to save his wife and child.  Really enjoyed this and it had some extremely violent bloody fight scenes

We are almost through Everything Sucks. It’s just ok, IMO. I graduated HS in 1995, so this should be right in my wheelhouse. I’m interested in the Luke/Kate storyline and not much else. Luke is the best character by far on the show. Kid can act ?
