Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (35 Viewers)

The Girl in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window on Netflix is pretty hilarious.

It's a spoof on all those types of books/shows.

Kristen Bell is the lead. I thought it was funny.
Bingo...

I went in with zero expectations.. Enjoyed the fact each episode was only 30 minutes.

Really, really thought it was going to be a "shutter Island" .. And who knows, with possibility of other seasons, might still end up there.. :oldunsure:

Hmm - Archive 81 is freaking me the heck out. Definitely a one episode per night show. Zombie movies are no problem, but this is some creepy stuff.

Just watched the seance episode.

Just Finished the last episode of True Story with Ed and Randall (Ed Helms and Randall Park). Some episodes are better than others, but the first episode is freakin hilarious.

ok... now it looks like I need to try Archive 81 again. wife and I gave it 3 minutes and bagged it.

New Space Force season available Friday.
this is my college buddy's show... I'm hoping S2 brings more outrageousness than S1- it felt like it was almost there, and kept holding back. also hoping it gets him more work as a middle aged dude -he's had a phenomenal career: Ben Stiller, Simpsons, King of the Hill, Office, etc- but sounds like Hollywood kicks people to the curb after a while, regardless of track record

I will admit that for a long time my ignorant ### thought I needed an apple tv for their service.  :bag:    I signed up to watch CODA and Tragedy of Macbeth, but I will admit that some of these shows look really good.   I know it's been covered, but which ones have people liked the most?

I added Severance,  For All Mankind, Ted Lasso, The Afterparty, and Servant to the queue.

See

I added See.   have you seen, liked/disliked the others I listed above?
The others are solid. For all mankind, the best. Lasso takes some time to get used to, but is fun. The After Party has been great IMO.

See is awful. But I still love it. If like a show like The 100, you might like this. Big, amazing world building...and super silly premise that there's no way around.

I thought Ep1 was pretty great.

Have you watched Suspicion? That looked interesting.

30 Rock on Netflix. I just got to the episode where Liz Lemon’s dad **** said, “You can’t have a Lemon party without old ****!”

On network TV.

Afterlife _ I am only half way through season 3 but it's decided to go way over the crude line.

Writers are faced with a dilemma - how to advance Gervais character story without losing the love story for his ex.

And now beating us over the head with uninteresting scenes of the ex.

I've shared more than once before but the TV Time app (Android and Apple) is a great way to keep track of all your shows. Been using for a few years now. Really helps now with all the various streaming services on top of cable to keep track of things. They added movies a while back but I haven't really used it for that.

Does it give recommendations based on viewing?

I tried something similar a few year ago.  Pencil and paper still works best for me old head.

So much easier. Search, add to list. Check off episodes as you watch. Shows upcoming episodes. If you want to participate there are discussions for each episode. I don't do that but sometimes I'll scroll through some.

it sounds really useful and helpful, but like more work than I would ever do to consider watching a tv show.

Finished binging the first season of The Righteous Gemstones.
What's your take on this? I thought season one had some good and funny moments but felt it missed the mark at times. Season two is dragging for me. They should pot commit to full on satire and let the talent do it's thing.

I downloaded the App and was ready to use but it required giving my email adrress so I deleted the App.

I checked it out and it's definitely more than I need for what I watch. Looks good though if you watch a lot of different shows and can put some time into setting the app up.

I like it. Only a couple episodes into season 2. I don't mind the movement between humor and seriousness at all. There does seem to be an excessive obsession with spotlighting male junk though for some reason.

Yea, it's not interesting anymore. Too bad because I thought the first season was great and the second season was also pretty good.  Now, not so much.  Love Gervais but I'm passing on this the rest of the way.

Season 2 not doing it for me overall.

Just like most of McBrides stuff - the first season is :moneybag:    and then it just doesnt hold up.

And I love and watch pretty much everything he's done

I liked season 3, although maybe not as much as the first two, mostly because of the supporting characters weren't as good. This was the last season so you could probably just watch the last episode. He ends it nicely, imo.

I thought the first couple episodes were great but went downhill pretty fast.  Overall decent but definitely petered out towards the end of the season.

I mean you are comparing a show about zombies to a show about drugs/sex. Im not sure if its cultural difference or just the subject matter.
I haven't seen either show, but I am somewhat familiar with Korean culture. Korea is extremely conservative regarding male/female interaction.
