Anybody watching season 2 of Tulsa King? Better/Worse/Same as S1?5 episodes in on Tulsa King.
Kinda OK. Pretty funny how they seem to give Stallone one sentimental scene an episode to show his acting versatility. Anybody else watching this get like a 2 second blackout in between scenes? Pretty annoying.
Man, forgot this was on the wayReacher season 3 just dropped
I just re-read that thread to see if this was one I thought was silly and fun or just silly and dumb.Man, forgot this was on the wayReacher season 3 just dropped
no idea what I was on about in thereIt is rich people doing stuff but the show never goes anywhere. You keep expecting something to happen or progress but it never does. Well acted - sure but it just never seems to go anywhere.Did not watch either season of White Lotus.
Cliff notes describing what show is about?
All the follow up responses to my post were spot on. Just finished episode 4, which is the Sophia backstory episode. Wow . This show has picked up considerably and sucked me in. Loved this asylum episode. A lot. I felt the tone of the asylum is what Joker 2 should have went for. Kudos to the writers in that. You'll love the Sophia backstory episode. It's very well done. The Penguin killed it with reviews online and on this site. Was looking forward to it. Watched episode 1. Meh. I'll keep watching for sure but it definitely didn't hit like I was expecting. Sophia character is great. The biggest takeaway I couldn't stop thinking about was how much his sidekick, Victor, looked like Blazers great Brandon Roy. Ha ha

Cliff notes describing what show is about?
I guess I disagree that stuff was "resolved". Sure you found out how the murders happened but things just meandered around until it ended. "Not going anywhere" isn't really a great description of what I am trying to say and I am not sure how to describe my take. All the individual things are good (acting, filming, look, writing, etc) but it just doesn't land for me. Something is missing.I can understand if watching rich, entitled, unlikable people isn't your thing, but I disagree with the thought that the show "doesn't go anywhere".

Season 1 was ok enough, but I can't seem to get inspired to watch S2.
this is me, but I don't think i finished S1. Everyone is unlikeable and just bad. Stifler's mom needs to go away too.Rich people go to a resort run by White Lotus Mgmt and show off their obliviousness in often times insulting ways to the everyday issues facing the not rich folks particularly the staff of the resort and the locals. And Stifler's mom whines a lot. I bailed after season one.Did not watch either season of White Lotus.

You didn't even mention that the dad appears to have done some Madoff-like scamming! And the mom is addicted to opioids!Season 3's main draw seems to be a wealthy family from Raleigh, North Carolina with potential incestuous relations amongst the children. Also they are a Duke/North Carolina family. It's like they went out of their way to write the most despicable characters they could. I cant wait to see what horrible things happen to them.I think this is fairly accurate. I'm not one for this genre- no interest in Succession, Billions, etc "insights" into the lives of the uber-rich; humor and storylines I genuinely am not interested in, despite however good the writing and acting and overall storytelling is.Rich people go to a resort run by White Lotus Mgmt and show off their obliviousness in often times insulting ways to the everyday issues facing the not rich folks particularly the staff of the resort and the locals. S1 was all about the hotel manager for me- hilarious.
S2 lacked that engaging character for me and I found myself annoyed far more than amused. maybe that's the intent. either way, not sure I'll watch S3.
Maybe White Lotus isn't for me considering I thought Succession was overrated and I didn't care for any of the characters outside of Brian Cox.It is rich people doing stuff but the show never goes anywhere. Cliff notes describing what show is about?
I dont really agree. The premise of the show is that there is a death, which is established in the first scene of each season. You dont know who it is or the circumstances around it, as that's part of the mystery. Each season focuses on resolving that death, and so far they have resolved each one fairly well. There are also many character arcs that get resolved.
I can understand if watching rich, entitled, unlikable people isn't your thing, but I disagree with the thought that the show "doesn't go anywhere".
I don't see White Lotus as anything like Scooby Doo. I would have Scooby-Doo as much better and the only thing they are alike in is that there is a "mystery".White Lotus is basically a fun Scooby Doo mystery for adults.
It's in the same category of shows for me that I appreciate but don't particularly enjoy if that makes sense.Maybe White Lotus isn't for me considering I thought Succession was overrated and I didn't care for any of the characters outside of Brian Cox.It is rich people doing stuff but the show never goes anywhere. I don't think it's anything more then what it's trying to be.
It makes perfect sense to me. There is something about it that I cannot describe properly that just makes me perturbed at the end because I didn't feel like it went anywhere which makes it feel kind of like a waste of time. It's in the same category of shows for me that I appreciate but don't particularly enjoy if that makes sense
We watched it. I’d say about the same.Anybody watching season 2 of Tulsa King? Better/Worse/Same as S1?
Days of Our Lives?I don't think it's anything more then what it's trying to be.
I think this nails it. White Lotus is fine. I don’t think they take themselves seriously and think they’re providing some deep social commentary or anything. I think when shows are self-aware that way it helps. Kind of like the years when Days of Our Lives said “F it, hear us out. Devil possession and jungle MADNESS!!!”

1-3For the few of us who've been discussing the Traitors...I'm through seven episodes of UK Season 3, and if Australia 2 didn't exist, I'd say that this was the worst season I've watched. What's with all the crying and overly emotional people? What's with half the cast being boring 30-year-old white guys that I still can't tell apart? There's a guy named Joe that seemingly showed up partway through, and a guy who always wears a beanie and I'm not sure has vocal cords. Did we really need a Dan and a Jake and a Joe and an Alexander and a guy with hat and a tall guy with more hair and all the rest?
Linda, by the way, seems like truly a nasty person.
Yuck of a season.
The Traitors UK season 3 through the first 6 episodes:
I can't say I'm surprised that this season has an all-female traitor group given that season 2 had all male traitors except for the first one banished.
Sisters Armani and Maia are the first pair in an English-speaking season to not hide their pre-game relationship. It didn't work out well for either of them.
Pretending to be Welsh and speaking with a fake accent all game is a choice. The cuts to Charlotte in her "hotel room" reading "Learn Welsh" are hilarious.
Linda is an awful player but an absolute f@cking gem in terms...
It's pretty weird that, after 6 episodes, that there's still a handful of players with hardly any edits. Pink Hair, Soldier Barbie, Phone Sales, blondie Director, Joe/Jake/Jehoshaphat (last is not a player, but could have been for all I know) - pretty much all the guys.

I assume that 'nasty' meant her real world personality shining through the 'play nice for 10 days' facade. Nasty as in naturally mean, not Janet Jackson style nasty. But your takeaway is LINDA is nasty? The retired opera singer whose “acting” is hilariously awful? She was one of the most entertaining parts of the season.

Nobody?Zero Day on Netflix is worth watching just for the cast, led by DeNiro.
We watched a few last night, and it's also captivating enough to make for fun tv.

I didn't find that incident gross at all. And it tied in well with what happened at the end of the episode.

Thinking about doing that tooWife is wanting to sign up for Britbox - no clue what shows are on there. I’ll Google it but wanted the opinions here on what to watch from there.
Well put. Can't disagree on anything except Carolyn is bound to talk to herself out loud at the wrong time and someone will hear it.The Traitors US season 3 (Peacock) through the first 3 episodes:
The traitors were right to break up the Housewives with their first murder after they made it through much of season 2 unscathed, but they chose the wrong Housewife. Dorinda was causing chaos and drawing attention to herself; this is exactly the kind of faithful the traitors should want to keep in the game. Either she'll get banished or she'll cause distractions and draw attention away from the actual traitors. They should have offed one of the other three. As happened on her Survivor season, Carolyn had the right read but couldn't articulate her case very well. I have no idea why Wells got banished. The vote was fractured (as is common in early roundtables) and in that situation I guess it is easy to take out someone who came in with no allies from their franchise. It's also possible that the savvier players -- note that three of the five votes to banish him came from the Survivor alumni -- saw what Pilot Pete from the Bachelor franchise did on season 2 and wanted to nip that kind of thing in the bud. Murdering a second Housewife also seemed like a bad move for the traitors. You can sell that one Housewife was murdered by another to throw the faithfuls off the scent, but not two, so you've basically confirmed the remaining Housewives as faithfuls and they'll never get banished. Tony was banished second because his intensity, skittishness and reputation spooked some of the non-gamers, and then everyone else piled on. Boston Rob's speech against him at the roundtable was the kiss of death. Rob may not have wanted to boot Tony so early, but it made sense to join the tide, as he was going to go after him at some point anyway; Rob needs to be in control and that can't happen if Tony is in the game.
Zach Efron's brother Dylan seems to be playing well and has already clocked Bob the Drag Queen as a traitor. Dylan could well turn into the Pilot Pete of this season -- the cast member who plays much better than you would predict from their background. Sandoval is a sweaty clown who appears to be going through cocaine withdrawal. The "Bambi alliance" of women who are neither Housewives nor gamers could be interesting, but it looks like Nikki is in danger.
I think for all her eccentricity, Carolyn is the current traitor with the best chance of winning, as she is always underestimated and people will attribute any weird behavior to "well, that's just Carolyn." Her problem with articulation isn't an issue in this game because there is no jury vote. Danielle (who was the driving force behind the poor choices for murder) and Bob the Drag Queen have already been clocked, and there is no way in hell that a cast of reality TV veterans is going to let Boston Rob get anywhere near the end. It's way too early to determine which current faithfuls have a chance of winning.
Completed the series. Enjoyed it even though it was apparent early on who most of the guilty parties were. Liked how it presented the kind of national threats that we could conceive of currently. Two episodes in. We like it well enough. Good cast. I like these kind of "realistic" end-of-the-world kind of shows more than the alien-rape stuff.Nobody?Zero Day on Netflix is worth watching just for the cast, led by DeNiro.

I'm 4 episodes into season 2 of American Rust. It holds interest but I can't yet tell if the plot is going to proceed believably or if it's going to veer off into crazyland. Right now it looks like everyone is either a killer or a drunk or a put-upon man or woman. But Maura Tierney is in it along with her famous upper lip so I'll see it through I guess. Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to watch season 2 now. I thought season 1 was pretty good for awhile but then Daniels seemed to fold up his character and just do whatever Maura Tierney wanted him to do. Also thought it wasn't as good as Mare of Easttown which is in a similar setting. But I'll still watch because Maura Tierney.Restarted American rust season 1 because it’s been so long, but looking forward to getting to season 2. Forgot how good I think the show is.
