Late to the party, but finally started and finished Dune: Prophecy. Read books like decades ago but don't remember much. Watched the 80s movie and liked it. Watched part 1 and 2 of the remakes and loved them both.

Solid watch. Can't say I kept up on the history of the houses so I basically went into it straight up. Great storyline. Was surprised how quickly I took to the characters. Well done. Sister Lila is a damn evil troll. Ha ha. Ragnar, Er, Travis plays these unstable, psycho roles really really well. I might have missed it implied in the movies so I apologize if so, but when the hell did this story turn into the Terminator? Just can't recall this massive battle discussed between man and machine before. Maybe I'm dumb.

I've just started rewatching The Killing (the the original Swedish version Forbrydelsen) and damn is it good, one of the best series I've ever seen. Good acting all around, even better than the US version of The Killing.
On MHz Choice.
Season 1 has 20 episodes.
Season 2 has 10 episodes.
Season 3 has 10 episodes.

Just starting Season 2 now. Good lord does the suspense ratchet up in the last 3 episodes of Season 1. Excellent show.
Just finished Season 2. Not as twisted on a personal level as Season 1 but still convoluted, good at ratcheting suspense up until the end, and very good. Storyline was more about government than was Season 1. Still, great show.
Finished the final season and man is that a dark show, very well done. One of the best shows I've seen.

How excite are we for Suits L.A. starting on the 24th?
Low excite.
The best part of Suits was the Mike/Harvey banter interactions. Then add in Louis Litt as the punching bag and it was great. Not sure they can capture that well enough. I will give it a shot but I don't have high hopes...................greenback boogie!
This is where I am at. Although how do you not add Donna to the greatness?

Is this serial or procedural. IMDB description makes it unclear.

First episode of White Lotus was fantastic. So in. I already have a theory as to the first scene/who dies.
These characters might be even more dysfunctional/despicable than the ones in the first two seasons.

Carrie Coon is awesome. Can't wait to see what happens with her character.
She's my early leader in the clubhouse for the offending party. Her or the younger brother character from the family of 5.

I think the opening scene with the gun going off is a red herring. They like to do those. I think a monkey gets a hold of a gun or something and the person who dies is only tangentialy related.

I disliked the first 2 seasons of White Lotus but if Carrie Coon is in season 3 I'll have to watch it after all the episodes drop. She's just a tremendous actress; there aren't many better.

The shows were fine but they didn't seem to do anything. Nothing progressed much. Very anticlimactic to me. I don't understand the hype on the show at all. I keep waiting for it to be better and then never quite does it.

A little late; but just finished THE CURSE on Showtime. Still processing the finale; but my initial thought was that, be it taken literally or metaphorically...it was great.

Just caught up on Severance. The show is a masterpiece on every level. Probably the best cinematography in the history of television.

Not sure anything this year is going to top S2 E4 for best episode of television in 2025.
I'll admit I almost checked out in the middle of the first season but starting with the finale of Season 1 thru what I've seen of season 2 the pace has really picked up.

And yes fantastic cinematography.

Every episode matters. This is unbelievable storytelling. Rewatching season 1 was a revelation.

Netflix Surviving Black Hawk Down. Military doc.

Brutal. Tragedy. No other way to describe what went down at Mogadishu, Somalia. Just a brutal reminder of how ugly conflict can be. Amazing they were able to get testimony from all sides. Really puts the conflict into a larger perspective. We were welcomed to the country in its darkest hour with American flags then pushed away as the enemy. I tip my hat to the Somali people this effected and I salute my fallen brothers. Tip of the spear.

The Penguin killed it with reviews online and on this site. Was looking forward to it. Watched episode 1. Meh. I'll keep watching for sure but it definitely didn't hit like I was expecting. Sophia character is great. The biggest takeaway I couldn't stop thinking about was how much his sidekick, Victor, looked like Blazers great Brandon Roy. Ha ha

Stick with it, thought the same, gets better every episode and is great by the end.

I'll echo beer 30, stick with it. I thought the show was some of the best tv in a few years. Really get to know the Penguin character and sets up nicely for the next Batman movie.

We started watching The Pitt last night. I've never really been into hospital shows and the frantic pace of the first half almost had me turning it off. It settled down in the second half and was a bit more enjoyable, so I'll continue. If the entire show was at the pace of the first half, I wouldn't be able to take it. Good cast.

i like it. took me a few episodes before i figured out the whole season is one day. its like ER meets 24.

I knew it going in. Not sure how long it would have taken me...lol

Sophia's role grows, so if you enjoy her you'll like it. Also, this had one of the best final episodes I've seen in a series in a while

Great series imo

You'll love the Sophia backstory episode. It's very well done.

Did not watch either season of White Lotus.

Cliff notes describing what show is about?
Rich people go to a resort run by White Lotus Mgmt and show off their obliviousness in often times insulting ways to the everyday issues facing the not rich folks particularly the staff of the resort and the locals. And Stifler's mom whines a lot. I bailed after season one.

It’s what Night Agent is trying to be. (I also concur with the sentiment that Night Agent season 2 is borderline unwatchable. It’s really bad).
What are our thoughts on Night Agent? I'm a handful of episodes into S1 and it's... ok?

If S2 is "really bad" then I may just jump ship after watching a few more episodes (need something to watch on plane(s) today).

Season 1 is a shrug. Not good, not bad, just meh.

If it was between watching the full Season 2 (stopped after one episode) or shaving my eyebrows, I'm torn.

Finish S1, it's ok. Don't bother with S2.

If you're looking for filler, Paradise on Hulu is good and S1 of the Recruit has been good so far but I'm only a couple episodes in.

S1 was worth watching IMO. It had me hyped for S2, which was a letdown.

As an aside, there's a Netflix show called Bodyguard that had a similar vibe that I liked quite a bit. Only 6 episodes, so it's kept pretty tight.

I liked The Recruit quite a bit- silly, implausible but somehow charming and fun. I watched S1 and 2. S2 started to lean a lot more implausible, to the point of finally keeling over into a deep pit of charmless implausibility. I'm pretty sure I won't bother with a S3 if it comes.

Night Agent? keep the silly and implausible, lose the charm and fun... and that's about it for me. I think I finished S1 just to do it. I didn't bother with S2.

We're watching Paradise now. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but so far I'm still hanging on. I'm more interested in the big picture story/mystery than any of the smaller ones.

You forgot the part where it is also incredibly well written and acted, and the pacing is perfect too. Just a really well made show, and each season has a little bit of a murder mystery to it too.

I think this is fairly accurate. I'm not one for this genre- no interest in Succession, Billions, etc "insights" into the lives of the uber-rich; humor and storylines I genuinely am not interested in, despite however good the writing and acting and overall storytelling is.

S1 was all about the hotel manager for me- hilarious.
S2 lacked that engaging character for me and I found myself annoyed far more than amused. maybe that's the intent. either way, not sure I'll watch S3.

Season 3's main draw seems to be a wealthy family from Raleigh, North Carolina with potential incestuous relations amongst the children. Also they are a Duke/North Carolina family. It's like they went out of their way to write the most despicable characters they could. I cant wait to see what horrible things happen to them.
