I liked the finale of Task. I had forgotten about the son so I wasn't sure what else there was to go over in the last 20 minutes. They obviously had to end that storyline.
Task spoiler finale question

Someone explain the phone

We see Grasso meet Jason and put the phone back in the evidence bag, but when they call the phone in the evidence bag it's not the real phone......huh?

Wow, that Task finale was so disappointing. The last 30 minutes were  . Pretty disappointing show that had promise early on. I know some of you here think it's the best show ever but definitely not in the same universe as True Detective S1 or even Mare of Easttown.

I had read your post before watching the finale and lowered my expectations - but I disagree, first the action lasted until maybe 15-20 minutes from the end but they needed to wrap up those storylines. And those were two of the most powerful scenes in the show.

Having said that, it wasn’t perfect but I thought it was really good. Thought Ruffalo was fantastic and very believable. I’d give it an 8/10.

I started to find the whole thing comical almost like Sons of Anarchy or Ozark - all very mid shows. 6/10 here.

Need to fire up some new shows. Having surgery next week and have a lot of down time over the next few weeks.

These are shows that I haven't watched the last season of yet, and I haven't really seen anything that has convinced me otherwise. Anyone recommend?
Handmaid's Tale
Squid Game (actually have only seen first season).
Westworld
Alice in Borderland

Here's what's at the top of my list of things I haven't seen, in approximate order that I am interested.
Yellowjackets
The Shield
The Lazarus Project
Broadchurch
Paradise
Zero Day
Crowded Room
The 8 Show
Disclaimer

The Traitors Canada S3 starting up

Cast
Some new twists here, we’ll see if they show up in US4 and UK4.

$10,000 is added to the pot every time a traitor is banished. Some fans have been clamoring for financial incentives to catch traitors to clamp down on the strategy of deliberately leaving them until the end.

The traitors were selected not by being touched on the shoulder, but by NOT being touched on the shoulder. This turned the initial reactions upside down.

The decision the traitors have to make at the end makes for a shocking TV moment but
means we will lose a big character early. Which means we might not see this in future seasons.

I really enjoyed the final season Westworld. Some folks hated it because it wasn't a "western" anymore. It was well made and if you're into that sci fi dystopian type thing, a must watch. It's a shame it got cancelled as they were expected to have another season to tie up all the loose ends so a lot of things are left unanswered :kicksrock:

Task has been so good. That episode last week was incredible. Can't believe it will wrap up Sunday.
Wait, it's not over? I really thought Ep 6 was the finale.

As an aside, I completely dismissed the show from the trailer. I just couldn't see Ruffalo as an FBI agent. I guess I was looking at it in a Krazinski/Jack Ryan kinda way and couldn't wrap my head around it. Turns out they cast the exact right person for that role.

Also, the accent (specifically Robbie) was really more Pittsburghese than rural Philly, no?
He plays more of a modern day Columbo.

All kidding aside, I do agree with you though that it's not the best show ever made and it's sort of an amalgamation of other shows but I don't think it's anywhere near the worst show ever and I don't really understand why you hate it that much.

Did you watch "The Pitt"?

Next on the list...premise is kinda meh for me.

What would you compare it to?

I never liked or really invested myself in any of the hospital shows. The Pitt is different. Almost feels like you're part of the crew and with all the moving parts you definitely feel the stress these doctors are under. Maybe 24 mixed with ER? It's quality

I liked Paradise

It's... fine. Probably a good 6, maybe 6.5 out of 10.

I have no idea how or why they're doing a second season, however. The entire thrust of the first season was pretty much that they don't explain the premise until the last episode. The audience is constantly getting a slow drip of tidbits that build up to the big reveal of "what is going on". Constant flashbacks, parts told out of order, and so on until they finally piece together the whole thing.

(Once that's done, looking back... not all of it actually makes sense)

That said, if you're into the kind of show that doesn't explain what it's about until the finale, the "mystery box" type show, it's fine as an example of that genre. At least by the end, they actually explained what was going on, unlike some other shows (looking at you, four seasons of "Servant").

Where they go in season 2, however, I don't think I'm going along for that ride. One season of waiting until the last episode to explain the premise of the first is enough for me. Now that the mystery is "solved", I don't think I care to find out what happens next (and, presumably, what the mystery of the premise is going to be or what the solution ends up being).
