The Challenge S41 midpoint. Vets & New Threats
Last episode before the finale. 5 teams remain.
Previous episode was quite the turmoil. One team was playing nice and told someone they were going into elimination (should have kept their mouth shut). That person pulled the scared card and avoided being in elimination by staking a claim on someone else's partner and then winning the 1v1 for the partner. It wasn't even a close battle - won easily in both physical and puzzle portions - dude that got blindsided didn't have his sporty shoes on as he thought they were just there for a vote. The teams changing up and having new partners divided up multiple alliances on the vote - can't vote against their previous partner. Chaos. New elimination had the original guy completely safe and sent 2 partnered teams to a coin flip. Strong team went home.
Next episode it spilled over on all the moving parts on who was screwing over who. Put the political game stamp on Old Vets vs New Threats on how to play The Challenge compared to Big Brother and Survivor.
Competition for placement this week: 1st place safe and in the finale, last goes to elimination against 1 of the remaining middle teams via house vote.
Geography and cardio - They have 2 large world maps on the side of the road (half the world on each), over 1 kilometer apart. Teams are tied together via chain and have to ride BMX bikes to each map. Place 32 countries correctly on the 2 maps. They can only move a country magnet to the other map 1 at a time - lots of back and forth. In the desert sweating their arses off.
Some haven't ridden a bike before (not all are from the USA where it's common). Some have no idea where countries are in the world. 'What's this continent?' one said. LOL
Host: 'Have you guys never seen a map before?' LOL
Big advantage to Sydney that's been to 65 countries and counting (they got 20 correct)... and perhaps one with military experience Yeremi that have been beyond the USA borders (18 correct).
The west coast of Africa countries? Head scratching.
Be glad it was a timed event for number correct, not get it 100% right. Would have been out there for a month.
PS - winning team had Turbo that never rode a bike before. LOL
Last place, had another former military Cedric - only 8 correct. Oops.
Fun stuff.
Elimination: Last week was puzzle centric; this week it's full on Physical. Medicine Ball in center net offense/defense. Small circle battle. Score or tackle.
One female D1 athlete that has about 25 pounds of muscle on the other. Males are a former marine vs a former cheerleader. Goes as one would expect. 4-1
Host says to the eliminated: It was 2 football players vs a cheerleader and a barbie. LOL

Finale next up: the final 4 teams on a 2-day challenge in the Andes Mountains. Usually day 1 is to wear them out late into the night/morning (if they get sleep at all). Then day 2 is a lot of physical and mental pain/toughness to win it all. Pain. And more pain.
