Joshua Redman - Make Sure Your Sure
Saxophonist Redman was born in Berkeley. He's the son of Dewey Redman who played sax with Keith Jarrett's American quartet for many years.
This 1993 track features Redman in a pianoless quartet with an all-star rhythm section of Pat Metheny, Billy Higgins and Charlie Haden. The song is a lovely cover of one of Stevie Wonder's songs from the Jungle Fever soundtrack.
Long ago I saw Redman sit in with Umphrey's McGee of all things.
