Summerpalooza IV - Combined Music/Fantasy Draft - Braxton Un-Breaks My Heart (1 Viewer)

Added

Jared Goff - QB - Detroit/Cal

Joshua Redman - Make Sure Your Sure

Saxophonist Redman was born in Berkeley. He's the son of Dewey Redman who played sax with Keith Jarrett's American quartet for many years.

This 1993 track features Redman in a pianoless quartet with an all-star rhythm section of Pat Metheny, Billy Higgins and Charlie Haden.  The song is a lovely cover of one of Stevie Wonder's songs from the Jungle Fever soundtrack.

Redman also beat Yo-Yo Ma in an animated wrestling match

Thanks, I don't really know what it means but it's a nice name and I thought I might use it for a while.

What gives, 4-0, I feel like Hootie and the Blowfish selling a hundred million crappy albums
The Lawrence Arms are a punk band from the aughts. Their singer, Brendan Kelly (?) was the founder behind the famous Twitter account Nihilist Arby's, if I'm not mistaken. Least that's what I read once.

I nearly sent you a trade offer for Montgomery this week, then was pissed I didn't, then happy I didn't. I was mostly just realizing you were now down him and McCaffrey for a while. :(
Oh. That would shaken things up a bit. Now I have this.

Yeah, it's going to be a rough year. I'm still going to be active, though, long as I'm not incapacitated. I figure I'll play spoiler down the stretch when they come back, maybe.

And having Miles Sanders isn't much better. My RB-RB-RB start went up in smoke. I waited too long at WR and then proceeded to take the wrong ones. I get my dynasty confused with my redraft sometimes, and I err on the side of younger players, which isn't necessarily the way to approach redraft.

DROP: Hunna Henny, TE Hoodies

ADD: Ty Montgomery, RB Saints

Ty is a Dallas fella, so im'ma go back to the BS well 'cuz i can never go there too often - ironic enuff that the one vid i think perfectly encapsulates all the sheer madness & tom####ery of Gibby & the boys is a cover track - Donovan can go eat a bag of Richards 🌭

Butthole Surfers - Hurdy Gurdy Man

Somehow not in last place(yet) with this roster of under performers and broken or useless guys. I'll be shocked if I win another game now that bye weeks are coming and the wire is pretty barren of help.

Jason Sanders - K - MIA

Hip Jones - Elvin Jones - McCoy Tyner Quintet

Bye week kicker and a Dolphin to boot.

The Jazz connection is the living legend Pharoah Sanders on tenor sax. Sanders' stuff as a leader are mostly 15+ minute tracks so I'm taking Pharoah as a sideman.

This 1982 session reunites Jones and Tyner who were half of John Coltrane's immortal quartet. Sanders played with Coltrane after he broke up the quartet and moved in a freer direction. That's how I've always known Sanders, playing outside with long droning sections. But on this record he sounds more like 50s Coltrane than the stuff they recorded together.  I saw Pharoah accompany a ballet once, he sat on the side of the stage in his robe improvising on tenor while the dancers jumped around. It was a thing.
