Summerpalooza IV - Combined Music/Fantasy Draft - Braxton Un-Breaks My Heart (2 Viewers)

My mother in law won't watch anything with swearing, violence, sex/innuendo (there is a religious component to this..), so our TV choices up here are limited.

We've taken to watching The Chase at night which I like because I can show how smart I am and my mom also loves trivia.

Left to their own devices, the in-laws inevitably seem to land on Escape to the Country. At home, on her own, she watches kids shows/cartoons

To fill time we've put on the new season of Nailed It!  - I won't pretend I haven't seen all past seasons and love it. It's hilarious.

Anyway, open to any G-rated TV suggestions.
I don't want to make light of this at all. People have shut off television for various reasons, but I wouldn't know where to begin with those particular reasons, whereby someone would shut that element out of their lives yet still continue with the medium. The stuff my relatives watch is all adult fare. Even your average football telecast has some of each of those.

HGTV, as facook was alluding to, definitely is G rated. I think the G is built into the call letters.

But other than that, I'll let other people steer you. I was just shoutin' about how I don't really watch it anymore. I don't have the same reasons your mother-in-law does, but I can't recommend anything.

It’s like you’re watching TV in a whole different country than the rest of us… ;)

Great British Baking Show? Maybe more pg in recent years but just good fun for the most part.

Guy Fierri stuff is super tame and easy to watch.

  The Chase was our substitute when ####### Netflix took down Jeopardy.

Nailed it is good clean Netflix fun as well.

That escape to the country thing is absolutely on CBC or BritBox or some other silly service I'm sure

I bet she just luuuuuved the question about Neuticles.

I don't think I'm going to be able to keep the '77/'78 punk schtick up if I want to even have a remote chance of getting back into this. I may be sunk already.

Sacrificing honor for art!
Yeah, the one year I only used David Bowie songs to draft and add/drop was probably my worst season.

Heh. I just drafted and constructed poorly more than music having a role in my poor start. My lament is more that I drop/add so much that I'm not sure I can keep a '77/'78 theme going past Week Three. I already picked an '80/'81 band in Minor Threat. You actually had songs that were the guys' names. (I'm thinking of the one that was "John, I'm Only Dancing" whereupon you picked a John, IIRC.) That was dedication.

NV, my wife said the shows she likes are Homestead Rescue, Hometown, and Fixer Upper.  All clean, feel good, fix a house type thing.

Juddzilla won on the FG at the end of the GB-SF game. It moved the Niners DT into the 28-34 pts allowed range; the one point deduction decided the fantasy matchup.

I'm making this recipe tomorrow for my fam: https://damndelicious.net/2017/02/13/sheet-pan-shrimp-boil/.  Got it from the Judge Smails golf trip thread.

Thinking I need to pre-roast the potatoes, corn, and sausage for maybe 10 minutes before baking as called for?  A little char goes oh so far, right?

Also, even if I didn't already know you were Canadian.... :D

We call this Frogmore stew where I come from and I may try this out, thanks for the recipe

It was REALLY good.  But next time I'd roast everything else for about 15 minutes (or until starting to caramelize) and then add the shrimp till done.

And why do you care about my waiver wire moves in a free, song-draft related FF league?

Sorry Marco, I was being tongue-firmly--planted-in-cheek.  And then I went and put my son to bed and then I watched a TERRIBLE show with my wife and now I'm back and see I caused a stir.  Was having a laugh, but you don't know me, so you don't know I'm generally having a laugh. You could pick up and drop every D in this league and if  I caught it at the right time I'd comment and if not I'd ignore.  But ultimately no, I don't care.  Cheers!
I apologize for this exchange.

I hate to make excuses but I was 3 or 4 stiff G&Ts in at that point.

I'm sure this has been discussed in this thread but after a quick search and looking at the league settings, I can't find the rule on IR.

What criteria are there for placing a player in an IR slot.  Only if they're listed as OUT? Doubtful?

And do they automatically get dropped if their status is upgraded or is there some lag time for us to move them back onto the active roster?

I think, for this league, if it says you can put them on IR, you can. I've been doing that. I hope that's not against the rules. In some leagues, you can only put on IR if IR-eligible. If I see a slot that says IR, I just do it out of ease for this league.

@Northern Voice, who must feel totally on call today. Sorry, friend. Just wondering.

Yeah I think you can move them to IR if they're out or IR, PUP etc.. you can leave them there as long as you want technically but won't be able to make and add/drops if a player is in the IR spot but doesn't qualify for it any more (so you need to drop him or get him back on your roster by dropping someone else or swapping in a different IR guy on your roster).

You can also move players temporarily to IR if they're listed as Out on the weekly injury report.

Watching The Wheels - John Lennon

When I say that I'm okay
Well, they look at me kinda strange
Surely you're not happy now
You no longer play the game

People say I'm lazy
Dreamin' my life away
Well, they give me all kinds of advice
Designed to enlighten me

When I tell them that I'm doin' fine
Watchin' shadows on the wall
Don't you miss the big time, boy?
You're no longer on the ball

I'm just sittin' here watchin' the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer ridin' on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Added Tyler Bass

Noise - The Diodes (From Toronto, which is a substitute for Buffalo in these things)

Added Tyler Conklin

Shock Appeal - The Suicide Commandos (From Minnesota)

This song slaps. It rips.

The Haskels were the first Milwaukee punks I can remember.  They aren't on Spotify but the singer's next band Oil Tasters are.
Man, Eephus, I forgot you were from there for a moment.

"Liberace is Coming" :lmao:

I can only imagine how they came up with that in their head. "Liberation is Coming? No, Liberace!"
