I don't want to make light of this at all. People have shut off television for various reasons, but I wouldn't know where to begin with those particular reasons, whereby someone would shut that element out of their lives yet still continue with the medium. The stuff my relatives watch is all adult fare. Even your average football telecast has some of each of those. My mother in law won't watch anything with swearing, violence, sex/innuendo (there is a religious component to this..), so our TV choices up here are limited.
We've taken to watching The Chase at night which I like because I can show how smart I am and my mom also loves trivia.
Left to their own devices, the in-laws inevitably seem to land on Escape to the Country. At home, on her own, she watches kids shows/cartoons
To fill time we've put on the new season of Nailed It! - I won't pretend I haven't seen all past seasons and love it. It's hilarious.
Anyway, open to any G-rated TV suggestions.
HGTV, as facook was alluding to, definitely is G rated. I think the G is built into the call letters.
But other than that, I'll let other people steer you. I was just shoutin' about how I don't really watch it anymore. I don't have the same reasons your mother-in-law does, but I can't recommend anything.
