Summerpalooza V -- Playoffs Over -- Eephus Is Now Two-Time Summerpalooza Champion (2 Viewers)

I miss Woodstock.
The day before surgery I got my mom, and took her to the colony to show her everything to do for a few days while I couldn't. Steve (that lives on the property the cats also live on) was walking by and saw my mom and said, "Didn't I see you at Woodstock?" She told him she was too tame to go to that. He told her he could have sworn he saw her near a mud hole. My mom just laughed and he went about his way.

I'm not going until Friday, but most of the Katmankoo crew arrived at our opponent's turf today. Wikkid in the Sky with Mary arranged for a bus to pick everyone up, and the bus took them on a magical mystery tour down a long and winding road on the way to Strawberry Fields. They loved it, but there was a small issue that came up later. The Katette Dancers traveled along, and they were practicing a few routines out in the parking lot. WITSWM's mascot came over and told Starrkeisha that the music they were dancing to was not what he considered music. Something about single grooves and this and that, but the dagger was him saying the lyrics were shapeless. Starrkeisha wrote those lyrics, and when he said that the :poop: hit the fan. They had words, she plucked out one of his feathers, and he told her to Get Bent! I apologize on our end. I've got a feeling that everyone will come together, and we can work it out. All we need is love, right?

Brilliant! :lmao:  :lmao:

A guy I used to work with went on to spend four years at Live Nation culminating as Chief Product Officer at Ticketmaster. He was one of the handful of people at my old company who was a music guy--he was a huge Soul Coughing fan. I ended up taking on some of his responsibilities after he left; there were lots of undocumented loose ends that my team had to patch.

According to his LinkedIn, he left Live Nation just before the pandemic, spent 2 1/2 years doing e-commerce stuff for Home Depot and now is a Senior VP of Customer Transformation (whatever that is).

Rock or NV (whoever has admin rights to the Land of Confusion), could one of you set a basic lineup for Blackened Voodoo, just in case? I don't want him to get jobbed because he's busy or somesuch. Thanks.

He set his lineup. We usually let people set their own and don't interfere, though I'm not sure of the exact rules on that this year. I know that in year's past, your lineup is your own and there is no commissioner involvement. I'll defer to NV on that, too. That's really his pay grade.

I don't think you quite got what I was asking. I only wanted an initial set up so the roster wouldn't blank.

I don't think you quite got what I was asking. I only wanted an initial set up so the roster wouldn't blank.

Ah, okay. I'm not being terse, but I still don't understand what you were asking. I'm just confused. If we set it up so it doesn't blank, that means we're interfering with his roster set-up somehow. If people want to leave their lineups blank or missing a player due to inattentiveness, we generally let it go. There are reasons for this and reasons for doing it the other way. I think we've chosen this route so far (unless the participant has asked us to do a conditional lineup with COVID). But, like I said, I still don't get what you are really saying.

If you wanted us to set it so that Doug didn't take a zero, my understanding is that we don't do that and have never done that. And Doug has set his lineup. We need to give people up to the last minute to do so, because people are busy.

If you wanted us to set it for some other reason, I'm just not understanding what you're asking.

I guess I should talk about the first possibility, where you were acting out of sportsmanship and concerned for Doug: It has been a laissez-faire league. People have not set lineups appropriately or have missed a week or two (we highly discourage that) and there's been no alteration to lineups. I've come on here out of courtesy and said for people to set a lineup lest they not know, but the commissioner hasn't altered lineups for that reason. (To the best of my knowledge.)

Anyway, this is really for NV. I'm just trying to explain what I think is precedent. I know in the future, I personally won't be setting lineups because there's way too much grey area within which to deal once one starts doing that. As an example, facook in the semis one year played my team and didn't set one RB because of church. I came on here and told him that a certain back would be playing (or not playing, I forget which), but nobody touched his lineup, and he won anyway. And this was the semis, so...

I personally ain't touching lineups. I helped with the draft. That's about where it will end. There shouldn't be too many issues from here to the end, because people set their lineups according to taste.

Don't fool around with this gear jammer.

I used to listen to that song a bunch. I can remember bringing my boombox into the showers my sophomore year when I hadn't showered in forever (don't ask why) and just blasting the most uncool band ever, George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers while I finally came clean.

People (including our friends that were girls) were coming in to see what the hell was going on with the music in the boys' bathroom. George Thorogood was not a popular campus choice most times, and they wanted to find out who the alien pumping that gas was.

Something something something I end up in the slammer

Who else is going to be fun this year?

Justin Jefferson is going to be a whole, whole lot of fun, IMO. That's who I wanted in this draft but got in Shining Path's draft instead (I pulled the three there, too).

You did a good job covering it. George Pickens is going to be fun to own, though he'll have rookie ups and downs because of his rookieness and his QBs. But he's fun to watch.

I think JuJu is going to be a PPR machine in KC. Valdez-Scantling and Hardman are there to stetch the field. He's there to operate in that ten-fifteen yard range with Kelce.

If you can't get Diggs/G Davis for the Bills, how about Khalil Shakir? He might not have a set job, but at the end -- and I mean the end -- of your bench you could do worse.

Who else will be fun? My bold prediction is that by mid-year, Breece Hall will be fun, but that's by mid-year. His dead leg run against the Giants for thirteen yards (I know, thirteen yards) drew an audible gasp from the crowd. He's the closest thing to Jonathan Taylor I can think of.

The SF running back room will be a nightmare as always. Stay away from that unless you can get Mason for the very end of a long bench.

Peace.

So...

Jefferson
Diggs
Pitts
Zeke or some RB that falls
Hall
Juju/GDavis
Edmonds
Lance

That's an enjoyable lineup, let's see what happens (probably I end up taking Ekeler or someone in round 1 because Jefferson is so dependent on a high pick).

I'm such a homer with confirmation bias, tho.

:scared:

Juju/GDavis

Davis in almost all formats but one-point PPR, IMO. And Davis maybe even then, because he's a little more fun.
Hall will be a nice player to get cheap after he gets eaten up by Baltimore and at Cleveland. I have Carter and Hall in one dynasty and I’ll start Carter this week as the Jets will be playing from behind.

But I thought Flacco was going to carve up the Ravens?

Sometimes I try and be funny.

I'm ready to irrationally overreact to Cam Akers' usage on the first three Rams possessions. RB2 is always a key position in fantasy football and a big league makes it much harder to find one on the waiver wire.

I didn't love the Akers pick at 3.05 but the RB deadzone was approaching. Hopefully he doesn't end up in it.

Mine went

Jefferson
Mixon
Javonte
Pitts
MWilliams
Sutton
Etienne
Lamar
Edmonds
Gibson
Bateman
Carr
Dillon
Pickens
Indy
Carlson

Feels like the fun squad I wanted... somehow I'm an underdog week 1 vs my brother 😡

Somebody just used the initialism "HAM" on NBC. I'm wondering if she needs to know what that stands for.
Probably. I feel like it's been accepted as discrete enough that it can be used in public. One has to know what the M stands for to be offended and if they know what the M means, they probably won't be offended. Do they say milf on network tv? I feel like that word is close to being accepted as slang for an attractive woman in her 30s-50s and detached from the acronym it came from.

McVey gave you a good jumping off point by starting Henderson.

Stud team.

I just traded for him in dynasty. I'm ready to overreact and throw my computer from the window.

I kid, I'm really not mad. This should be interesting, though.

The only words I’ve spoken in the first half have been “Cooper Kupp” over and over. My companions have chosen to find it charming, thankfully.
