Summerpalooza VII Music/Football Draft - Congratulations Three-Time Leeg Champ Eephus (2 Viewers)

Teams who weren't in last year - I think @simey @Dr. Octopus @The Dreaded Marco @Don Quixote you can join using this link:

When I tried that link and signed in it told me: “The league you are trying to join is already full.”
I'll take a look here now.

Try again now, I guess I didn't delete enough teams

Kiss Olave II was deleted yesterday. Made me a bit sad. I thought that was the best name I had come up with in six years. Left it all the way through the year last year instead of changing it. Heh. Good luck to y’all. Hope you get the logistical stuff worked out.
Yahoo needs a better system than making commissioners not only remove teams but outright delete them from the leagues but as far as I can tell there isn't an alternative - it wouldn't even give me the link to send out for new people to join until I deleted old teams.

Perhaps they do need a better system. I certainly trust you and didn’t take even the remotest of offense. I wasn’t upset—this was just by way of making conversation, really. But yeah, the “delete” notice might be taken a bit harshly if, say, you left the league on bad terms or had disagreements with people. That would stick the knife in. Probably don’t need to notify people of that.

I wonder if that has caused problems. I’ll bet it has.
I guess there is a transfer team option which would make sense for dynasty leagues etc

2.02 Kyren Williams, RB L, LAR

after picking Nacua, I was kind of dismayed to realize that i definitely thought that Williams was the best RB choice left on the board (with Pacheco after that). Don’t love being that concentrated on one team, but I guess having that team be coached by McVay is not the worst thing in the world. So we will have ourselves a bit of a Ram Jam here as we watch Nacua High steppin’ down the sideline and watch Kyren Runaway runaway toward the end zone.

@simey (@krista4) up

You're running it back so far with my Summerpalooza VI team except I picked them up as free agents before week 1.

Yes, I actually do know that, and it is also a low key reason why I didn’t want to do it. But the conventional wisdom is to buy high, right?

I didn't love loading up so heavily on one team (I also had Cooper Kupp) and have always tried to steer clear of stacks but it worked out pretty well until you blitzed me championship week.

1.06 - Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit

In Egyptian mythology, Amon (also spelled Amun) is the god of air, the sun, and creation. The ancient Egyptians believed Amun was the creator of all things and worshiped him as the head of the city of Thebes. So St. Brown's first name, Amon-Ra, is essentially the same as Sun Ra's stage name.

I'm going with a Jazz mix again. Sun Ra's catalog is huge and confusing so I'll take something off an early album that's more jazzy than his later space age weirdness and will fit my mix better (hopefully).

Sun Ra - Call For All Demons
Those in the Lions game threads are probably getting tired of it, but every time Amon scores a td I always post "The Sun God appears." 🌞

2.04(?) RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions

I was wondering why he hadn't gone yet. I would have been hoping he'd fall to me, but I know landrys hat will take whoever I want most just before my picks in even rounds, so I'm not expending that kind of energy.
I might have considered him, but this injury thing plus the possibility of him not really getting the true lion’s share (wink wink nudge nudge) of the work with old steady Dave Montgomery, who’s done a great job reinventing himself from deceased baseball executive, there had me worried.

If it’s now she won’t be answering for a while.

It's been an hour. Seems she's moved on to brighter horizons.
I did; but now I'm, back rested and refreshed.

Round 2 - Marvin Harrison Jr. - WR Ari
Someone sang the beginning of this at a recent draft after taking him.

Three Detroit Lions in the top twenty. Times have changed.
I was just thinking that they had some great fantasy players in the run and shoot days with Barry Sanders, Herman Moore, and Brett Perriman with Scott Mitchell. Then realized that was 30 years ago. Oh.
Scott Mitchell was the second player I ever drafted in fantasy football at the 2/3 turn with rookie Terrell Davis. I had No. 1 overall pick which at the time was Emmit Smith.

One of my earliest fantasy football memories was picking up Emmitt Smith off the waiver wire when he was rookie. I think my dad was out of town on work travel and he left me in charge of his team when I was around 10 years old. I put in a waiver claim for him after he had his first big game. Worked out pretty good.
