***Sunday Brunch, German-Style - Dolphins vs Chiefs*** (-1.5. 50.5) Mahomes handles business... (1 Viewer)

Is this a possible AFCC preview?

Go!
I'm so confused by the thread title lol
Kick off at 9:30am/6:30am from Germany
I guess no one ever had a pancake breakfast at the church on Sundays...
The sausage fingers was explained in the thread, festbier/Oktoberfest-Germany
Ah ok. I thought you were suggesting that pancakes were German lol

I also believe this game is in Frankfurt, not in Bavaria :P

Interesting fact. Germanys Oktoberfest is barely in the month of a October. It's mostly in September. I've just always thought that was weird. I've been to two of them. Some of the weirdest weekends of my life. Like debauchery weird. Go Dolphins.

"Sausage Fingers" by Sideward Brewery in O-Town
Festbier-Lager, doubt there is any still around town although check the brewery.
I have a 4-pack in the fridge special for Sunday since this is in Frankfurt, Germany
It's actually a bit late for some Oktoberfest but since it starts in September, why not end in style in November?

Think Wilson can get a TD this game? I can't see them giving Mostert all the work.
Since Achane went down it's been sporadic at best for Miami's running game, also this is a good time to mention they have missed as many as 4 of their original 5 starters on the OL
Austin Jackson would not be Last Man Standing in my Pokemon deck but that's exactly what happened
Both starting guards for Miami are OUT this week...now I ask you what you think the game plan is likely to be outside of a few carries here and there?
When does Mostert ever get more than 15 carries in a game? I'm not sure he's had more than 10-12 carries a game since Achane went down
My point is Mostert isn't tired and the Phins have a Bye Week after Frankfurt.
I would not bet heavy on Jeff Wilson in this game.
Just my opinion as a Miaimi fan but you might want to take others temperatures, I'm a wee bit biased

What has to be a BIG Story for Miami on Sunday is the first game with Ramsey and X starting Both CB slots and Holland at Safety
Good luck throwing on Kohou in the Slot, UDFA that has filled several big shoes since he arrived, finally he gets a spot to call home, the Slot
Baptism by Fire with Mahomes at QB but I think Miami can give him and Kelce a run for their money
Miami will finally be at full strength minus an ILB perhaps but in terms of Pass Defense this will be a first in '23.

I think this game surprises some people, Miami I think, is clearly a better team than KC right now. I could see KC really struggling on offense as they are having major issues at OT, and no WRs are really stepping up.

For KC, I think the plan will be to be run heavy and try to keep Miami's offense off the field.

For Miami, I think they expose KC's D as overrated. I think the Dolphins do whatever they want on offense, especially passing.

I'll say Miami wins 30-21, but its not as close as the score.

The Miami Dolphins activated Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead off injured reserve Saturday and he will play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Germany.

This is the x factor. Dolphins win this easily.

I am betting Miami on the money line and adding some extras for an easy parlay. Will report back in the morning

Should be an intersting game with a decent amount of subplots. The main question will be is KC's defense for real? They have been playing lights out and Miami has a lot of injuries along the line.

Also interesting in that both teams are approcahing this game differently in terms of travel. Miami got there Tuesday morning and is spending the week while KC is getting there late friday/early saturday.
How has this turned out for the European games?

Can recall Jax was there for a week or more and beat Buffalo who were looking good before that game

Of all my picks this week this is the one I'm struggling with. Miami so much better on paper but the flip side is they lose the big games and this is a big game. Chiefs win big games

Considering Miami got outscored 79-37 in the games combined in their only games so far this season against good teams, this game is a measuring stick for them. Are they are a real contender or are they a team that feasts against bad teams and always crumbles against the good ones? We will know more in 4-5 hours.

Both teams are good teams. This should be a good one as far as I know. Maybe the GOAT at QB minus a great receiving corps and an up-and-comer at the position. Love to see them both.

Crumbles...
@ChiefD you didn't get one of these, GD doing some of the heavy lifting here for Phinsfans

Huge fan of Andy Reid and Mahomes, it's been easy to enjoy the Chiefs success over the last 5 seasons.
That said, the Kelce-Swift story is nauseating and I pray Rich Eisen has the good sense to not mention her much in the booth
But it's Rich Eisen and despite my admiration for the job he does, he still likes to appeal to a wider audience and so maybe we should play a game
How many times does Taylor Swift have her name mentioned in the booth?
How many Taylor Swifts does it take to turn off a football fan?

suns coming up i got cakes on the griddle…

Life ain't nothing but a funny funny riddle . . .

I'll see you that and raise you . . .

Ah but let's not forget that Toledo, Ohio
Unselfishly gave us the scales
No springs, honest weight
That's the promise they made
So smile and be thankful next time you get weighed

Prediction. Claypool will have a couple of key catches, and a jet sweep for good yardage. Last week, he caught a short slant for 15 yards and was the target on a 3rd and long. He made a nice block on a bubble screen. He's a fast TE.

…..suns coming up i got cakes on the griddle……..
Potato Pancakes, assortment of german style sausages, and a lot of festbier for this 9:30am kick off
The poor folks on the West Coast are just getting the coffee rolling.
Good morning for a spiked coffee drink

Haveing a hard time deciding on this one. Miami just hasn't beaten anybody of note, but they certainly LOOK like the better team right now. HOping for a tight game. Miami had most of the week to adjust their bodies, and I guess I'll let that be the factor that tips my prediction, but it's not a high confidence one.

Miami 31, KC 27

the other problem is that Reid/Mahomes just don't lose often after a loss.

Reid/Mahomes don't lose often, period.

Good Luck all Chiefs' fans today, it's an honor to get to face you all in Germany for one of these Euro-Showcase games, happy to see where Miami is at mid season
I hope every player that steps on the field today is able to walk off the field under their own power
No new injuries for 2 talented teams
Don't undersell the Chiefs Defense today

This could be a defensive struggle and a 21-17 game will not surprise me
Flossen Hoch!

Miami Defense, just ridiculous they paid Fangio all this money and his scheme sucks
We've tried to convince ourselves that a healthy starting line up would matter but...
Maybe when you see how the offense has survived and flourished with back ups up ad down the OL and beyond
Miami got fleeced hiring Fangio

Waddle hurt once again...this is getting old
He gets lit up and shaken up every other week
It's getting old that he's always got an a silent injury in the background
