I still can't believe that the Seahawks threw the ball at the 1 yard line with Beast Mode ready to run the ball in. What a horrible call.
Had they run that on 3rd down I'd have been fine, but to run it on 2nd down in that formation...I'll never understand. I was 100% sure they'd run, and if they threw I was expecting a play-action. In that formation I was thinking, no way they throw...read option here.

Nope.

I don't know if that call was the worst call in NFL history...but it has to be pretty damn close. I still can't wrap my head around it. There was plenty of time to run the ball twice if you wanted to with the timeout. Ugh!

Tyree

Manningham

Kearse

Super Bowls with under 2 minutes left and the Pats involved are a heart attack waiting to happen if you're a Pats fan...

SB36: Rams went right down the field with ease to tie the game

SB38: Panthers went right down the field with ease to tie the game

SB39: Eagles throw a long TD late, but get the ball back too late to do anything for those final 3 points needed

SB42: Tyree

SB46: Manningham

SB49: 79 yards in a flash. Thank God they didn't get the 80th

2007? Man I don't hold stuff in for 2007 seconds. Let it go, bro.
In all fairness, you apparently have held a "thing" for Icon for quite some time.
In all fairness, I let him know seven years ago. :bye:
Man, between you, Raider Nation, General Tso and Icon...there must have been something in the FBG water seven years ago.

As an aside, I came over to the Shark Pool to see what the chatter was on the last play call. And here I see all the Free For All-ers over here slumming it up.

The guy has been hating on me for 7 years and I couldn't tell you a single thing he's ever posted.
In real life and on the innerwebs, if I don't like someone I let them know as soon as possible. I avoid all the politics, does me or you no good at all.
I should bust him back to Corporal Tso after that outburst.

I know right?

As expected, I didn't enjoy that victory nearly as much as I could/should. All I could think of was my two buddies who are diehard Seahawks fans, one of whom I was texting with throughout the second half. Both of us agreeing how bittersweet it would be no matter what happened.

Then there are guys like Dr. Detroit and Hooper in here who are good dudes, and the Seahawks have plenty of reason to be proud, the gut-punch ending notwithstanding.

Congratulations GB! I'm very happy for all Pats fans who haven't hated me for seven years. :hifive:

I'm good man, congrats on the win. 4 Super Bowl titles is awesome, all my best friend. :hifive:

Saw a graphic of Browner and Sherman having a tete-a-tete after the game. Never knew these guys had a history.

I don't get anyone saying the game was sloppy or poorly played either, I thought both teams played a great game.
Brady and Wilson were pretty meh most of the game.

Just was not a great played game by either offense for most of it.
I was locked in so maybe you're right. I thought both teams did exactly what they were supposed to do and the game was decided by one yard. If I were a neutral fan, I would have really enjoyed that game.
I thought Brady and Wilson played pretty good. Definitely much better than the QB play in the NFC championship game. They weren't lights out but both showed a tremendous amount of leadership near the end of the game.
are you people still trolling even after that game??
How is my post trolling? I said your golden boy played a good game.

great, exciting game that either team could have won.

lots of seahawks fans will question the play call. I do, a little. but really, but for a great defensive play, it would have won the game.

Think that this makes TFB the greatest QB in history.

'hawks re-signed Lynch, and locked up their core for the next few years. they can still be a dynasty--but there are a lot of teams that don't even have one. Just respect the Pats and make them the model for what you want to accomplish.

wish they lost with class. at least most of them, like Sherman, did.

Still flabbergasted by the play call at the end. I mean.. everyone and their mother knew that Beast Mode would get the ball. Doesn't mean the Pats can/will stop him. Even if they did you have a timeout to reset and try

it again. Hell, they had enough time that if they had rushed to the line after a second failed attempt, they may have been able to get a third! It was only 2nd and 1! Just baffling...

Great game, holy crap what an amazing ending. I feel for Seatte fans, what a guy punch. Boston fans know what heartbreaking losses are like so this is certainly no day for gloating. I'm really happy the Pats won obviously and hopefully people can stay classy.

Seattle used up all their luck on Green Bay. Can't wait for another shot at them. Hats off to New England and I hope McCarthy was watching how belichick's players don't #### up at crunch time.

Edit...there were some nice throws by both...but I don't think it was a very cleanly played offensive game by either QB.
 Not sure what game you were watching, or maybe to much :banned:

Brady set a Super Bowl record for most completions in the first half.. Sure he wasn't completing deep passes, but against the Seahawk's not many do.. He took what they gave him and moved the team down the field.

Wilson had a VERY slow start again, but when it was needed he made the plays needed to move his team down the field to score.. Thought both QB played very well.. :

I can't believe how clutch Wilson was in this game. That second quarter touchdown with seconds left was just absurd. The momentum in the third quarter was just ridiculous. And it was too easy how they drove to the goal line at the end.

Couple that with the green bay comeback and they are going to be in people's heads for a long time.

And the amazing thing is how he did it with secondary receivers like the foot locker kid. there's no question in my mind that Russell Wilson is special.

Yeah that pick on the goal line was about as clutch as Jay Cutler. He got very very lucky to be in a position to blow this game. The heave of a 2 point conversion against Green Bay, the Bostick flub to keep them in it, winning the coin toss in OT, the Kearse catch of that bouncing ball....his luck just finally ran out.

In the next three seasons, we'll see just how special he is. I'm not saying he isn't. He's been very good at what he's been asked to do. But he hasn't carried a team yet. Seattle with a guy like or Eli Manning or Kyle Orton still wins 10 games.

Wilson throws one of the best deep balls in the game. It showed repeatedly vs. Green Bay and again vs. NE.

That pass to Lynch to start the final drive was sick.

Kid played a helluva game. Seattle is in good hands.

I rooted against Patriots hard this game - cannot stand the perception of cheating and arrogance from Belichik....but, mad props to that organization to be so consistently good. Essentially two really good players and a system - but they won another championship. Unreal, but props to them.
Two really good players?

You are seriously underrating the defense.

Name a better Super Bowl old guys. I don't know much about the 70's and early 80's SB games.
Two words: Wide right!

Actually, the one just a few years ago when the Giants did the unthinkable. The one that had huge play after huge play between the Steelers and Cards. Both those may not be iconic games but they had just as many big moments as this one did.

I liked this game a lot. Very entertaining. But on some level it was very...predictable. TO me it seemed extremely obvious how this game was going to be played out by both teams on both sides of the ball and it was dead on.

When Lynch moved to the left of Wilson I was think WTF play is this. Throwing to Lockette for the game with Lynch and a TO at the 1 after getting that miracle catch by Kearse. That was beyond bad call.

Great game by the Pats. Great play by that kid jumping that route. Brady on those last 2 drives, stud.

Such a brutal end but a great season.
This really needs discussed more because it wasn't so long ago (week 5 or so) when a lot of people had sais his run was over, he didn't have it, etc. Those last two drives last night reminded me of him when he was 28 or 29 and just seemed to always know the exact inch the defense was giving him and took it.

No way. Really? If so that's the greatest call ever.
Madden the video game not the coach.
It predicted the game would be 14-24 hawks at the beginning of the 4th as well.
Wow that is unbelievable.

In the 4th QTR down 10 against the legion of boom. 14 of 16 for 139 yards 2 TD's and 0 interceptions.

Largest 4th QTR comeback in Superbowl history.

Good game Pats. I seriously overestimated the LOB and underestimated the quicks and toughness of New England's WR's.

Regardless of that stupid play call at the end, Brady still brought the team back from 10 down (again).

I was wrong and much respect to the Patriots.
